1) We create customized tutoring plans to serve, as accurately as possible, the needs of each child.

2) We collect and share data to provide indicators of each child’s academic performance. We also

collect teacher evaluations from parents to help us continuously improve our programs and services.

3) We believe that tutoring is a collaborative process that requires community involvement, and we bring

parents, siblings and school personnel into the process.

4) We seek to work with special needs students and their families.

5) We partner with research-​based organizations to use innovative teaching tools.

History

Established in 2003.

For over twelve years, Tutors on Wheels has been providing exceptional tutoring services and specialized educational programs that make a difference to thousands of students throughout New York City.

Our instructional methods have provided these students with the concepts, strategies and skills needed for academic success which has laid the foundation for college and career readiness.

It is our mission to support the nation’s educational initiatives by making every effort to create meaningful and productive educational experiences that will foster in our students a love for learning.
