Albert Alphin Wind Instruments

Short version: Albert is to clarinets what Merlin is to wizards. He’s the clarinet whisperer. There is no one better.
I’ve been going to Albert since I was in high school. I live 3000 miles away, and I still go to him. He knows his wind instruments — particularly clarinets — better than anyone I’ve ever met. More importantly, he understands what makes them sound good and what doesn’t, and he will tell you very directly.
His prices are comparable to or better than anyone else I’ve found (and now that I’m 3000 miles away, I’ve looked, both locally and on the Internet) and he has things in stock — even somewhat rare things.
He has overhauled several instruments for me, and I’ve purchased several from him. His in-​stock selection of instruments is excellent, so if you’re shopping, you can try many before deciding. And his overhauls last years — years of 3-​hour-​a-​day practice and performance.

Fast and practical service. I am an amateur flute player and Albert did not have a problem fixing my flute, unlike many other instrument repair businesses in and around Boston do. I had not played my flute in about 5 years and Albert gave me honest advice then fixed my flute right away. Highly recommended!
