Artery Cleaners and Launderers

I started using artery approx. 1 year ago for home delivery. Their prices and cleaning was average. I did not have a problem until they lost a couple of my items. Trying to get somebody to deal with this issue was nearly impossible. The customer service was awful, I would call them and half the time the person I would speak to, would have no clue what I was talking about. I asked for the owner to call me, but that never happened. Needless to say, I never got reimbursed, and I was ignored until I discontinued my service. I switched back to my original dry cleaners (Signature Cleaners), and when I explained my experience with Artery Cleaners, the owner (Steve) gave me his personal cell phone number. Talk about feeling appreciated as a customer.
After reading many reviews on Unilocal and Google, it appears that my issue is very common with Artery Cleaners. They seem to lose your clothes and then ignore you.

Would not recommend anyone to go here, there are plenty of other choices in the area.

Artery Cleaners give me free pick-​up and delivery and, best of all, environmentally friendly dry cleaning — which is important to my health, as well as to the environment. Very friendly service, too.

I took two pairs of pants there to get hemmed. One had the stitching fall out & the other one had the buttons fall off within a day (even though they say that they fix all that for every piece of clothing dropped off). They were kinda nice but I wouldn’t use them again — especially after reading these reviews — oy!

I never had a chance to do business with them and i will tell you why. After I observed what happened to a customer when I walk in to the store, I walked and even ran away from this place. I was recommended to this place from a friend so I decided to take my clothes to dry clean. I walked into the door and what I saw was a horrific scene. A man (customer) was arguing with the owner (I assume) very aggressively. The owner has the man’s jacket in his hand. the sleeves were destroyed. After i saw that I stepped outside for a minute to wait and see what will happen next. A few minutes later a cop showed up. A cop walked to the owner and talked to him. then he gave the man back his jacket and then the man left. I stopped the man and asked him what happened. He told me that this place messed up the sleeves on his jackets and he asked for a refund. The owner then had a mentally break down and started to yell at the man and refused to give him the refund. He then grabbed the man jacket away from him and undo the sleeves and cut them all up to pieces. The man then called the cop on the owner. I was shocked and cannot believe what happened. How can they stay in business for this long. I am so glad that I came just in time to see what happened. I thanked the man for saving me troubles as my clothes may be destroyed as well. I am sure they do a great job on dry cleaning but I would not take a chance with this place. I shoulda do my research on Unilocal before i went into this place. Other reviews were just as bad.

Artery Cleaners are my favorite drycleaning service. Deb and Noreen are absolutely fantastic. They have a great attitude, are very friendly, and believe in high customer service. They always take time with me to go through my clothes, and mark up the ones with the stains. Everything comes back nicely pressed, and taken care of. Not only that, but I truly enjoy visiting and chatting with Deb and Noreen.

Wanted in Dry Cleaners: Fast, Inexpensive, Quality Cleaning, and CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Based on my experience with Artery Cleaners and Launderers, they did not get the memo. It may look like a sweet, cute little family run operation when you see high schoolers and older ladies behind the register, but I warn you: Do not be deceived!
All I can say after my experience is that they are DECEPTIVE and RUDE.
My fiancée and I recently dropped off 3 jackets to be laundered. We asked that they were pressed (not dry cleaned), and had some alterations issues. On one, a button needed sowing and a sleeve repaired. Another, a two buttons needed to be sewed on. A third, a pocket fixed. We walked through all of the alterations with our cashier, and brought our own buttons. We were then handed a receipt for about $ 20 dollars. «This place is great!», I though to myself when I saw that. «What a steal!»
One week later, our total bill was $ 60 dollars. $ 60 dollars! I can understand that, apparently, alterations do not bill at the register. It is annoying, but I can live with the understanding that I will have to argue with you to secure a price in advance from now on, and that my receipt doesn’t actually show the truth. It may say alterations, but don’t let your eyes fool you. That first receipt is only the cleaning. I can understand issues like that in small business shops.
I can also understand $ 15 for a sleeve repair and $ 10 for a pocket repair, plus the buttons sewed on. Knowing the time that goes into it, its not a great deal, but as long as it is good work, I can grin and bear it.
However, $ 15 dollars to sew on two buttons that I gave you? $ 15 dollars for that 5 — 10 minute job?
I called their store, upset about the cost after my fiancée picked everything up. I was (and am) ok paying those other costs (although it would have been great if that had been shared beforehand… which it wasnt). However, I made it clear that I felt the alterations were too high. I was told a manager would call me back. The next day, I had to call back, and was put on the phone with a manager. I explained my point of view and that I felt $ 15 dollars for sewing on two buttons on one jacket was too high, especially when we provided the buttons. I explained I felt that was a fair refund.
The guy seemed to have a mental breakdown at the thought of a $ 15 refund. He began interrupting and talking over me while I was trying to explain that I wanted I refund for the one jacket. He proceeded to argue with me about how I wasnt willing to pay for good work, about how I wouldn’t do work and then not expect to get paid, and how you can’t just not pay people for their work. .To which I explained, as an analyst who does 1099 work, I do expect to not get paid for bad work or if I decide to triple bill my client all of the sudden, or bill them an hour for 10 minutes worth of work.
The manager argued with me about how I didn’t want to pay people for their good work, and how we were told ahead of time the prices (to which I stated that we weren’t, and were expecting a bill of about $ 20 dollars). He sternly demanded to know (again, my problem is mainly this one jacket…) how much of a refund we wanted. I stated $ 15 dollars a far price. He demanded to know how I figured that out. When I replied it seemed fair based on market prices, he then proceeded to go back to arguing about not paying people for their good work.
Not wanting to waste time, I stated that if it was clear we would not be able to come to an agreement, we can let the market handle things. I mentioned that I would be writing a Unilocal review and that from now on I would take my business elsewhere, which is only fair. Upon hearing this, he proceeded to yell about how I was threatening him, kept talking over me, and again went back to arguing about not wanting to pay people for their work. After five minutes more of that, I decided he can have his $ 15 dollars, and hung up.
So, long story short, DECEPTIVE PRICING and RUDE MANAGEMENT.

Well I called the cleaners to see with the seamtress was there. Not only did I get the rudest employee but playing games on the phone too! She never let me speak to her. She put me on hold to tell me to speak to someone else but it was the same woman again! She went on and on about what the seamtress needed to know but again she would not pass the phone to her as though she was knee deep with orders. If that what you call customer service, that is a joke!

Refused to take a delicate, egregiously expensive, heavily detailed brassiere. The woman tossed it aside with a look of disgust, for all the world as if I’d handed her a dirty pair of panties, and said sternly, «These need to be hand washed.» As if I were some sort of idiot for bringing her a garment CLEARLY LABELED «DRY CLEAN» on its care tag.
The rudeness alone is inexcusable. But what’s worse is that she didn’t even read the tag. When a care tag is in place, no dry cleaner should make assumptions about what a garment needs — without, er, foundation, so to speak.
Addendum: It actually gets worse yet. I left my sheepskin slippers anyway; they send those out so I wasn’t worried about this ditz doing any work on them. They make you wait a week for those, and I guess they must have sat around wet almost the whole time. Got them back very damp inside, and reeking of mildew. The outside is cleaned beautifully; not just coffee stains, but even salad dressing came out.
But they’re ruined.

I had to get my wedding dress cleaned *before* the wedding and was getting price quotes upwards of almost $ 500. I bought it off the rack at Filene’s Basement Running of the Brides event and it just needed a light cleaning and a pressing, nothing extensive. I was horrified to have quotes almost as much as the dress itself cost! So I kept looking.
I discovered #1 Artery Cleaners through Unilocal!,it had good reviews and was close to where I live (bonus!), so I brought it in.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience. The woman at the counter was very sweet and friendly, as was the owner. When he quoted me $ 100, I almost leaned over the counter and kissed him! AND they were able to get it back to me by Saturday (I brought it in on Monday). When I went to pick it up I was told they hadn’t put it back in the bag b/​c it would have caused it to be wrinkled. I was planning to leave the dress, covered, in the car (it couldn’t come in the house and I wasn’t handing it off until the next day). The women there were very concerned about making sure it was placed in such a way to keep the wrinkles to a bare minimum if at all, and how to cover it so it was as protected as possible in the car. I had 3 or 4 women flitting about trying to troubleshoot if it was going to stay in the car for 24 hrs. (I did end up taking it out of the car and hanging it at my neighbors for the night.) Then the owner came out and was helping as well. It was great! I was glad to see they cared just as much about my dress as I did (heck, maybe even a little more at that point. I was just planning to «toss» it into the car and let it be, haha).
My mother and sister also took their dresses there to get pressed the week of the wedding and had no problem getting them done in a timely manner.
I can’t wait until I need something dry cleaned again! Altered even, though I did not use their alterations service I would be inclined to because of my positive experience with the dry cleaning aspect. I do plan to bring my dress back to get cleaned before I stick it in a closet to collect dust… at some point.

i love the people who work here. they’re incredibly nice, and the dry cleaning is reasonably priced. i’ve had alterations that were fast and perfect.
