Well, I really thought this would be a fun place to go on a night when I wanted a different Quincy scene. Last night ruined it for me. I went there with my friend for drinks and everything was great until some«southie» guy came over to talk to us. This was fine, he was strange and we didn’t really want to talk with him and politely sent him back to his side of the bar. Normal bar stuff. Then the bartender serves us two shots and says they’re from the guy– while he’s waving and giving a thumbs up. We didn’t really want shots so didn’t touch them for a while. Finally o informed my friend that they were shots of water. So I let another bartender know that one of his fellow bartenders served us water, all the while that bartender was mean mugging us with her southie guy. Gerry, apologizes and states that the other bartender isn’t like that and is the GM! Hah! Then another bartender comes over and apologizes for her actions as well! This general manager never apologized. What a terrible manager to treat two girls this way for whatever reasons she felt she had. Not okay. I am not going back there.

The service is awful! The bartenders are either high as a kite or just plain rude. Only been there twice and both times an issue. After leaving late night we overheard the bartender say good, get the f&&k out. Both times the place was empty. I’ll never go back.

Post the renovation, this place has a brand new avatar! Total transformation — and all for good. It is good to see such a good mix of new restaurants opening in the Quink along with remodeled versions of the ones like Fowler, that are doing everything they need to, in order to bring in the crowds. And sure the results can be seen. Here are my quick thoughts: — 2 very distinct sections, one more focused on the Sports bar vibe and the other for more family time — The section on the left side, the proper sports bar side as I would like to refer it as, has a decent sized bar in the center, with tons of TV screens to watch some live sports action — The place gets super packed most weeknights after work, one can only imagine how busy it must be on weekends — Great beer and wine selection — A clear change in the food, their menu is more extensive and elaborate than before — The pizzas are really good, have tried pretty much every kind, they are all good — They have a private parking lot at the back of the restaurant; which invariably is full come 6pm. Be ready for street parking or better still, on Adams St which has many on street spots available, instead of the very crowded Hancock All in all, a vast improvement from the old school dive of a bar that it used to be. And hence, pulling in a very mixed crowd — again, for good.

So happy they remodeled. Liked it before, really like it now. Service was great and food was delicious and affordable, as usual. Great neighborhood spot.

Service was alright(though to be fair we were the only people in the entire dining room, not sure how it is when crowded). The bar side was REALLY loud despite it only being about 3 pm. The buffalo wontons app was good and came out hot, but my boyfriend and I both disliked our main meals. I got the sampler platter and the potato skins were awful. Basically just a lousy baked potato– hardly any cheese or bacon. The mozzarella sticks were not flavorful and clearly had been frozen. The wings were supposed to come BBQ style, but were plain and the skin was way too crunchy. My bf got the chicken parm sandwich and it looked like a sub roll with just a bunch of cheese on top. Expensive given the quality of food and I kind of felt sick after. I won’t be back.

Went to check it out after the renovation. Looks good, service and food not so much. Sat at the bar and they gave us a bar napkin, then ignored us for 10 minutes. Servers and bartenders were hanging out together and didn’t look too busy, but we were largely ignored even after ordering food and drinks. Liked it better run down but with great service.

I was looking forward to visiting the Fowler after the new renovation. Came out nice but must admit the prices went up for the same quality food. We ordered a few pizzas, a turkey club with couple of salads. Too bad they no longer have steak fries and they burnt the toast on the club. We’ll probably visit again but it’s just ok, nothing special. Service was great, waitress was friendly and very attentive.

The Fowler house has upgraded their appearance but the service could use some work. I ate at the bar last night and was not overly impressed with the female bartender who provided slow service and forgot to bring me my food, I only ordered French Fries. She was slow and unwelcoming. based on this experience alone, I’m not sure I’ll be back. I really hope the service improves.

I have always liked the customer service here. The staff is very pleasant, the food is pretty good. Now that they have renovated the space, it looks AMAZING. I live right next to it and am glad because it’s amazing for a quick beer and dinner. The beat thing I had here as far as food goes was the shrimp pasta.

Bad reviews already, really? Let the place work out the kinks. For starters the bar is much more inviting than before. There are a bunch of TVs that surround the entire bar making it a great place to watch a game now. As for the menu, it looks the same with a few additions. The prices also look pretty much the same with a few minor changes to a few plates. I had the buffalo tenders tonight which were great hand battered fresh tenders unlinke pre renovation! The pizza looks the same as before and I am glad they didn’t remove any of the pasta dishes! All in all I am looking forward to keep returning to the fowler for a good meal and cold drinks! Nice job on the renovation the inside is a lot more inviting and not outdated like before! Looks great!

We were excited to check out the newly renovated Fowler House as it is our local. The refit of the bar looks great! The place was busy(on a Monday night — good sign) so we had to sit in the dining room. Some new additions to the menu but largely the same. I had the pizza, which was exactly the same but I think more expensive. Others in my party got the pork chops and they were lousy. The potatoes were rock hard and the vegetables were obviously from a can. The salad looked ok. The menu is too large! Did they learn nothing from ‘Kitchen Nightmares?‘ Service was pretty bad too as we were one of only two or three parties in the dining room but we were largely abandoned by our server. She was pleasant and the order came out correctly. Disappointing. Such potential in this place.

Used to go here frequently before it was remodeled. Service was great and food was quick. However with the new remodeling it feels as if the staff just can’t keep up. Was seated immediately, then waited 10 minutes before ordering my drink… ATTHEBAR. After telling the bartender we were waiting for a server she grabbed one and we ordered our food from there. Took over a half hour for a buffalo chicken sub and a buffalo chicken and bacon pizza. They also forgot that I modified my pizza as it did not come complete. The server very rarely came by our table to see if things were alright or if we needed refills. Food is still good but service needs to step up

Just old fashioned american comfort food. The bar area has been beautifully renovated; the menu has stayed basically the same. Allude celery for me.

I have been going to the Fowler House for over 20 years and was so excited for their remodel and new opening. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong night. Food took over an hour to reach the table. The waitress actually asked if we wanted it to go and was afraid people would walk out! Our dinners were delivered wrong, but there was no way we were sending them back! Who knows how much longer it would take! I ordered an old favorite from the menu and the portion had decreased while the prices increased. I will absolutely no longer be eating here again. Good luck with your new clientele!

The Fowler House has been our go to spot for quite a while. We have only had one experience when my wife returned her food as she was unhappy with it. The management was very graceful and comped us a couple of cocktails. I usually get one of the daily specials which are usually very good. My wife goes for the pasta dishes. Last evening we visited the Fowler House and as always the food and service were very good. There was a notice at the door that said the restaurant would be closed for 4 weeks for renovations. That was fine but we were blown away when we learned that everyone would have to reapply for their jobs. Why fix something that isn’t broken? The staff and bartenders have always, with no exception that I know of, been friendly, attentive while maintaining their professionalism. My wife and I hope the owners/brothers realize that they have a well oiled machine that needs no adjustment. Good luck to all.

Typical bar food, it all tastes like it comes to the restaurant frozen. Nothing out of the ordinary except for the painting on the wall. We probably won’t be back.

Cannot beat this option for casual quality. The menu has something for everyone, the service is always outstanding and the quality is excellent.

Great bar pizza, exactly what I was hoping for when I stopped in. It’s small though, if you’re hungry you’ll need an appetizer with your pizza to fill you up. The chicken parm sandwich was great, smothered in cheese. It was a little small also. Steak fries were great, a little crunchy on the outside like they should be. Parking is on street, which can be a hassle sometimes.

This place has so much potential, but I just don’t get it. Everything about this place is confusing. 1st of all the name doesn’t fit what they’re going for. It’s not a «café». It’s a sports bar. The menu doesn’t match what you would think for a sports bar either. Weird amount of pasta dishes, not enough burger/sandwich options. I lived in walking distance and it would have been perfect to go to, but it just didn’t do it for me.

Sampler platter. Chili. Turkey club. Lots of TVs and very friendly staff. Buy 3 get 1 free pizzas that kinda taste like soap. But what a deal!
