History

Established in 1990.

Joseph Cahill & Associates was founded in 1990 by Joseph J. Cahill, CLU, ChFC and Thomas J. Holmes, JD. From the beginning, Joseph Cahill & Associates was unique among tax preparation firms by offering comprehensive, high-​quality services in both financial and tax disciplines. The goal was straightforward: Offer ethical, efficient, and effective answers to the tax, retirement, and risk management needs of clients.

Word of the firm’s guaranteed, convenient, and reasonably priced tax preparation quickly spread. In 1994, the firm upgraded to an office at 20 Court Street in Dedham, MA, where it still retains a branch today. In 2005, the company opened a new hub at Two Adams Place in Quincy. The tax preparation business, then branded with WorthTax, continued to grow and, in 2007, the Company opened a branch office in Weymouth, and in 2013, a branch in Braintree.
