Truth be told, this was the very first business I ever patronized in my life, back in the mid-60s when I lived right down on Hunt Street and it was called the Quik Pik. Then it was spending my 15 cents/week allowance: a dime on a glass bottle of Coke, a nickel for a Chunky. It’s been an Asian-run place for a couple of decades now, in line with North Quincy becoming Asian-dominated. Still a(relatively small) neighborhood convenience store. When I was a kid fifty years ago there used to be quite a few of them in the area: one across from the elementary school on Newbury Ave, one halfway down on East Squantum near Bayfield, Charlie’s Market on the corner of East Squantum and Atlantic Ave. As far as I know, Kim’s is the only one left in Atlantic.
