This salon is a gem! I’m very particular with my nails because I like them looking as natural as possible and the owner is spectacular at her job! The salon is extra clean and the people who work here are very friendly. I will be a regular even 2 weeks now!

If I could give zero stars I would. Slowest service I have ever experienced. It took over an hour to remove the gel from my nails and she didn’t even get it all off. She attempted to then buff the remaining gel on my nails and put more gel on top of it. I didn’t have time to stay for her to actually finish the manicure because it would have been a 2 hours. The girl doing my nails seemed to have no concept of time or any idea what she was doing. I walked out with unfinished nails and they charged me $ 20. I work in the service industry and have never experienced this lack of professionalism.

I did my nails for the first time Ever. I did acrylics and I requested Yen. I made a appointment with her because all the reviews said to go to her for acrylics. She is really nice and the acrylics came out so beautiful. They have a great selection of colors.

I’ve been coming to Magnifique for a few months now and have been meaning to post a review. I love it here! I had gone and tried stiletto nails at another salon (not to be named) and they did not do a very good job (to be fair — it was a Friday night, we were late, and they stayed open for me and two friends just to fit us in). I knew I needed them fixed and I knew that a few people I work with have gone before (work right in North Quincy). I’m so glad I went in! I see Yen every 3 – 4 weeks now to get a fill done. She keeps my nails well-​shaped (not too thick!) and always has fun with whatever design I ask for. I love all the girls in the salon — very friendly and welcoming. They keep it clean, are pretty flexible with appointments (do call first — it gets busy!) and are easy to work with.
I’ll be going there for a while!

I’ve had 2 manicures and 1 pedicure here. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly, and the girls do such a good job! I leave happy and my gel nail lasts up to 3 weeks!

I haven’t posted many reviews lately but I thought I should post one for Magnifique! I’ve been coming here since the summer of 2015 and I’ve gotten excellent, consistent service every time. Manicure, pedicure, eyebrow wax (occasionally)…never fails! Amazing, hardworking people who are great at their job!

Love love my nails… By Yen I live in Holbrook and had to find a place were they did good almond shaped nails… Love her and I will become a regular.

Yen did a great job on my nails. This was my first visit to the salon and first set of acrylic nails in over a year. I’m a terrible nail bitter and my nail beds are so short but Yen made them look really great, I’ll be a returning customer. The salon was clean and they ran on time for each appointment I saw come in; Even the customers in the salon were a pleasure to interact with. Very happy to have found this place. I gave a 5 star review because I don’t think a single element to Magnifique salon went wrong.

They did such a good job. Attention to detail and very clean. Love it. Second time I went did a great job again but took a little too long… But they always remember me and are very friendly!

Awesome Jenny is the best. Perfectionist! So careful and takes her time. Definitely worth a stop by!

I have been nervous to visit nail salons due to a bad (dirty and messy) experience when I was 18 and have been doing them myself for years now. I decided my daughter and I deserved to get pampered so I came on Unilocal and saw all the great reviews and decided to try it and was not disappointed! They are very clean and meticulous which is impressive. They are very sweet and make you feel so comfortable unlike other places. I highly recommend this place, it does take a little longer but thats because they take their time and do quality work! I will now be going here regularly!

This place is amazing!!! I needed my nails done desperately and the I didn’t have an appointment. I got a fill and a pedicure. My boyfriend got a pedicure done as well and they were able to accommodate the both of us! Yen was a pleasure, and made me feel really comfortable. She was meticulous and my nails came out perfect because of it. She did an AMAZING job with my fill and our toes look great! I would recommend to make an appointment because they probably are super booked. I just happened to luck out. The place is really clean and nice to be in.

I’m the customer Nat H is speaking of. I made my appointment and waited. I wasn’t in a rush as I came on a day I didn’t need to rush. I didn’t sit right down. I went to the polish wall like you’re supposed to do. I haven’t see the owner in 2 months and this appointment was long overdue so pardon me if I had some things to catch up with her. For those reading these reviews please take into consideration that with new management comes changes. The owner was attending to another client — me. You were with another nail tech that you also seemed to know. You messed up 4 nails leaving the salon and Q had already moved onto another customer. Then you decided to come back in and made sure everyone knew that you cancelled your eye appointment just to come back and fix your nails. With attitude you had Q change your nail color on both your hands and feet. You chose that color. You messed up the polish. And you’re upset that they «took too long»? Q didn’t need the owner to intervene. She went as quickly as she could to fix the situation and you still weren’t happy. The owner then left me to even check and see if your nails were dry — something you should be able to do yourself. I have followed the new owner and her people for three salons now. She is kind, fair, and works harder than most people I know. Customers can expect friendly service but shouldn’t treat the techs or the owner like they are beneath them. You want quality work go here. Ask for the owner of you have an issue — something Nat didn’t do. Also, Nat probably overheard my conversation about Unilocal with the owner so I’m glad she was so intrigued with my conversation that it prompted her to write her review. But this review isn’t about an angry woman. It’s about a nail salon, with new management, with some great nail techs, that can become friends and family if you’re nice. I highly recommend. And if you want some amazing nail designs — ask for the owner and tell her Nina sent you. She’ll hook you up with some original nail art or can do pretty much any design you ask for!

So I wrote a review a couple of years ago for Magnifique raving about it and encouraging folks to go. I can’t do that now. As previous reviewers have noted, the salon has been sold to a new owner. I’ve been two times in the past week and I’m not a fan.
Magnifique used to feel like a diamond in the rough. They took appointments only… And walk-​ins only if they had time. They didn’t make their customers wait, especially if you had an appointment. Even though the owner (Maliza) and Q were the only two people working there, it was great. They called in extra help as needed, are perfectionists and took their time.
Fast forward to today. It feels like any other nail salon you walk into. Appointment or not, you will wait for a long time. Today I went in for a color change, had an appointment, got there ten minutes early and it still took 50 mins. The owner focuses on her old clients from whatever salon she came from, leaving Q and another new person to try to take on the rest. Q has been running around and apologizing and looking more ragged than I have ever seen her. Today even though I made it clear I needed to be out by a certain time and allotted 40 mins for a color change, I was still late and had to cancel another appointment I had later in the day. I waited but watched as one of the owner’s former clients came right in and sat down in her chair! Her focus seems to be on her former clients leaving the old Magnifique clients to sit and wait. TERRIBLE customer service.
The bottom line is she is overbooking appointments and it shows.
I’ve committed to one more appointment to see if it gets better. I love Q and she is great… But I hate paying for terrible service. I’m a faithful customer and tip at least 20%. I don’t want to wait around all afternoon for simple services.

I am updating my review because they have changed ownership recently. I have been here twice since the change and am still loving this place. Today I got 2 color ombré gel nails with glitter by Yen. The results were fabulous and I’m very happy with them. She really took her time to make sure they were done nicely. I see they recently got some poor reviews but I haven’t had any issues with gels not lasting. My last gel manicure lasted 3 weeks before it started to chip. I still recommend this place whenever people ask me about my nails.

Very happy with my nail work. Got that graphic online. Staffs took their time to study my picture and drew it on my nails. They did a great job to make sure I got what I want. I asked if they will do other pattern and they are happy to do any kind of design. Definitely will come again!

I went in for a pedicure & manicure (plus gel removal). The color choices were slim, not many to choose from (1^st red flag). Almost at the end of the pedicure, before she painted my toes, I had to ask her to clean underneath the toe nails because it was still dirty. Then, after she was done with my manicure you could see the ridges of gel underneath the polish. The gel wasn’t removed properly. The associate helping me kept on apologizing that it wasn’t her fault because the other associated had done a poor job removing the gel — huh then fix it, how is that my fault?! I just had her take off the color and walked out of there with clear nail polish on my nails cause at that point I was there for almost 2 hours and I just wanted to get out of there.
The new owenership sucks. I will not be going back to this estabelishment.

I searched for several nail salons in the area, but decided to book this place because of all the awesome Unilocal reviews. The place was clean and the staff was nice, but that was about it (oh and they had a friendly puppy).
The place was busy even for a Thursday when I booked my appointment. I constantly see people coming in for appointments. However, it may have been due to that reason that I didn’t feel like the work done on my manicure and pedicure were as good (still not an excuse though) as I expected.
To start off, the girl painted 3 coats on my toes (not including base and top coat), which ended up changing it to a much darker shade than the color I had wanted and it kept getting messed up at the salon because I was being moved around a few times so my toe would hit my flip flop or some random chair; it also would not dry. The owner was really nice and kept repainting it for me until I just told her to paint over the chipped part, paint a top coat and forget about it. I left wearing flip flops, got home, made sure it still looked fine and waited 3 hours before I put on closed toe shoes and the my toe nails were still NOT dry to the point where both toes were completely smudged (nail colors were pushed halfway in kind of smudged), so I ended up having to wipe it all off and redo my feet on my own.
Then for my finger nails, I had asked for gel because it was for my wedding. They didn’t do so well with the shaping some of my nails; some were slanted and not evenly shaped. No hand massages, cuticle cutting, or pushing back nail bed, which I felt it should have been included for their price ($ 60 not including tip for gel nails and regular pedicure). I asked for gel and specifically asked if it will last long and was told it will last at least 2 weeks. Well, it’s been 5 days and one of my nails chipped in half.
Oh, they also have very limited parking spots. I would recommend checking side streets before pulling into their parking lot, because coming out can be hard as well.
I gave it a 2 star because the owner, or at least I think she is the owner, is incredibly nice and she did an amazing job on my bridesmaid. So I guess if you plan to try this nail salon, make the appointment with the owner only.

I read reviews on here and decided to give this nail salon a try due to all the great reviews.
I went in this past Friday and today is Monday and my gel manicure is already chipping. This is insane it’s only been TWO days and my nails are already chipping.
I’m giving this salon two stars because it’s very clean and they are very nice.
But in all reality I just want my gel manicure to last and unfortunately that didn’t happen here. I will not be returning to this salon.
