Description

Specialties

The Granite Rail Tavern is a local tavern where you can feel comfortable coming in alone as well as with a large group. Have a drink, something to eat, play the jukebox, and enjoy some good conversation. We are the only bar in Quincy that has a pool table and we also have a dart board.

Have your family reunion party, bridal shower, birthday party or any get together with us. We can cater your party with a menu that you want. We have a chef that comes in just to cater the party. You will find our prices are very reasonable.

History

Established in 1984.

We are named after the first railway of Quincy used to transport granite. In 1825, the Quincy quarry site was selected as the source of the stone for the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. A charter was granted on March 4, 1826 for the construction of a railroad to help move the granite. The «Granite Railway» began operations on October 7, 1826, becoming the first railroad in the country.
