Hot bartendress, cold beer and discussions worthy of a diplomat. Robert should be Secretary of State.

The last time I was at this bar there were three guys shooting heroin in the bathroom. This place is a disaster.

Great place great ppl love going by for some pool and a few drinks. They just opened the patio so it’s really nice to have the option to sit outside. Keep up the good work guys.

Very small place with OK food, which I thought might be sketchy, but didn’t get sick. Prices are good for every day kind of place to go. However, the bathroom by the rear entrance smelled to high heaven of pee, absolutely made me sick to my stomach. The bathroom was co-ed and the cleanest co-ed bathroom I have ever been in. The floor was dry so not sure why the heck it smelled sooo bad! Gender separate bathrooms downstairs, there was not even a square of TP in the women’s bathroom and there was three stalls. At least there was soap in all the bathrooms and the one downstairs didn’t reek. Atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. 4 guys walked in an ordered a pitcher of Coors Lite then asked the bartender if they poured the right beer because it didn’t taste right. Do not recommend and don’t plan on going back. This is beyond dive bar.

I went here for a friend’s birthday on a Friday night recently. It sucked. I would never go back. First of all, you walk in and get hit in the face with a smell like no other. It’s like pee and grandma’s basement. It was so filthy and my shoes were sticking to the floor, and it wasn’t even busy at first. The place filled up fast and there were only two bartenders on! What?! Quincy Center, Friday night and you have two bartenders?! That’s insane. The drinks were tiny and gone in a second. I had to keep going up for drinks and it would take 10 minutes each time. It was brutal. Then the sound system crapped out. It kept fading and someone was trying to fix it, but it would get wicked loud then fade to a whisper. We left after being there an hour if that. All set with that place.

My boyfriend and I just got out of separate bathrooms with the runs from this place. I don’t know if it’s because we got the Chicken Curry dish, but regardless I think anything would’ve given us the runs regardless. I got the Chicken Curry because a Unilocal reviewer recommended it but I thought it was bland. I don’t know why I expected it to be good since it is a pub, but I should’ve just gone with my instinct because the rice was not fully cook(I’m Asian so I know what cooked rice tastes like), and the chicken was tasteless. I had a feeling that the curry sauce came from a box since it was the oddest item to have on a pub menu. Just don’t get the Chicken Curry. Please. My boyfriend got the Beer Battered Fish & Chips which was just okay, nothing spectacular except the fries were french-toast shaped and there were only like 7 pieces. As an appetizer, we also ordered honey mustard wings were just BBQ wings that came on a plate of 10 pieces. And since it was a Monday, they had a $ 0.25/wing offer except it wasn’t applied and we were charged $ 7.95… The only reason we came here was because we had a Living Social deal that was $ 9 for $ 20. But please just go somewhere else unless you’re just looking for alcohol(which we didn’t try but I guess we never will because we’re never coming back). Ambience-wise the lights were dim, we almost sat in the back but the place was so empty(besides us there was only one person at the bar drinking) that it was pointless sitting all the way in the back. It felt confined and almost cave-like because there were barely any windows. Overall not a good first impression, pretty dodgy and I think I have to go to the bathroom again.

I only go there when some buddies are already there. I wouldn’t ever try the food, doesn’t feel like a sanitary place to cook. Why the police haven’t shut this place down yet I just don’t know. No way in hell a percentage of the crowd in there was over 19. The music was awful, no one was dancing, everyone is just hanging out or playing beer pong and the dj has Nelly blasting so loud you can’t talk to the person next to you. Seriously, Big Tymers, Nelly, and the Fresh Prince… LOL I guess if you’re looking to take an incredibly drunk underage girl home this is the place to go.

A group of us walked in on a Wednesday afternoon around 530 to an empty bar. The bartender was very friendly and quickly served us. The food was just so-so but extremely economical as they had a 25 cent wing special during Bruins games. Shortly after arrival a neighborhood lush managed to create quite a spectacle and fall off his stool loudly cursing at the ground and his spilled beer. This appears to be more of a late night drinking bar more than anything else. On a side note, we were offered highly discounted Gillette Fusion razors that likely fell of the back of a truck in Southie from a random character who appeared out of nowhere.

Do you like hanging out with a bunch of barely 21 yr olds, screaming to be heard by your friends, and bathrooms clogged with drunk post-teens who have either just thrown up or are having their hair held back while gagging over a toilet? Enjoy watching badly tattooed, zero style or class morons jump around a non-existent dance floor while stomping on your feet? Then this is your place on weekend nights! It’s awful. However… It’s actually a decent place to get a drink and meet friends other nights. Bartenders are cool, good beer selection and cocktails are strong. But I wouldn’t come near this place on a weekend night.

I don’t know what to make of this place. Sometimes I like it, other times not so much. I guess its just a safe go to bar if your doing a bit of a pub crawl just to stop in for a few. Nothing really special about it, just cheap beer and mehhhh food. I went once on a Saturday night and it was what I expected, extremely crowded and tons of knuckleheads. But I guess all the bars around that area are like that on the weekends… townies. Best just to come when its quiet during the week unless you want the frat party vibe they have going on the weekends. With that said its pretty cheap and the bartenders are friendly. Definitely worth checking out if your rolling through downtown Quincy.

Mixed feelings here. I used to love the Half Door, they used to have friendly Irish guy bartenders and live music and a pretty relaxed scene. In the past couple of years it’s changed. Now there’s girls bartending in their underwear and the scene is very young and fratty. There are still things to love: they play great music on the weekend, drinks are well-made, I’and the doormen, while strict, are usually pretty nice. Things that I don’t love so much: It’s LOUD, there’s nowhere to dance despite dance music, they should move all the tables and the barstools at night because sometimes it’s impossible to get to the bar when it’s crowded. Half Door is what it is, it’s your scene or it’s not. I stay away most Friday/Saturday late nights but weeknights are fine.

I wasn’t actually here for very long because half of our group ditched us to go to another bar and we lost them for good. It was a nice little dive that I would have rather started the night in. I love dive bars and this had a great atmosphere. The music was good and not too loud so we could all still talk to each other over our beers. We actually left The Stadium down the street to go to The Half Door because it was getting obnoxious in there with the music being deafening and the service getting non-existant. Glad we did. I would definitely go back. I liked the vibe I got there even if I was only there for one Guinness.

The Half Door is a tiny little place that has very very loud music. It’s got some cozy booths and a DJ going on, but it’s very small. They play your typical top 40s music and it’s just pretty standard for your average dive bar. Not bad, not amazing. But the music is pretty damn loud so don’t go here on a Sat night expecting to talk to anybody. There’s not much dance space but you can still have a good old time.

No hats policy? It was entertaining to watch the bouncers flomp around the crowd and ask people to take their hats off like they were children sneaking gum in class. I guess they want to «class» up Quincy. There’s a lot more aesthetics of this little place that should be handled before executing an obnoxious«no hats» policy. This is the type of bar that I come to first to load up on cheap drinks… and then go some place better…

I still love this place. Jen still rocks the place with awesome service and the food while nothing fancy still is great for the price, big yummy steak fries. Tonight I tried their buffalo chicken sandwich and it was spicy as hell and tasty. For reals don’t hate =)

This is a review of a brief stop to the back patio. A bottom shelf draft and a well drink cost way too much. Other establishments charge far less and seem to be thriving. I couldn’t figure out what math arrived at the $ 10.50 for these 2 low end drinks. The patio is cheap azz stamped concrete, which simulates more expensive stone pavers. This illusion does not have the desired effect when it is dissolving into rubble. The awnings and surrounds that define the outside seating area are shabby, and do little to obscure the site of several nearby dumpsters. They just do not have it going on here. That is too bad, because The Fours is too high end, and the patio at Bad Abbots is sort of a joke, so the opening is ther for a fairly-priced, decent-looking out door drinking establishment facing the large Quincy Center parking lot.

There are some mixed reviews so here’s mine: Late on a Friday night they have the«bar scene» with lots of people, pretty similar to most other bars. If you go on a Friday night(5pm –7pm) expect to sit ANYWHERE you want and you’re probably sharing a waitress with one or two other tables. This translates into some amazing service for a $ 6 sandwich and fries. For the price it’s hard to beat the quality of the food, my personal favorite is the Chicken Curry and Fries.

My friends insist on going here all the time. The only good thing about this bar is that you run into people you haven’t seen in years. Other then that it get’s way to crowded on the weekends. and the music is so loud you can’t even talk to each other. Bartenders can be crabby and sometimes the drinks aren’t very strong. But I still always end up having a good time.

Want to go on a pub crawl? Quincy Center is a good place to do it… you can almost literally walk out of one pub and into the next one next door. Almost all Irish Pubs(including this one, even if it occasionally has an identity crisis). Nothing is really overpriced, but then, how can it be when there is so much competition? This place does not stand out as a favorite… but it should certainly be a stop on the tour.
