My wife loves Mexican food. There are several restaurants around the east end of richmond we used to visit with one in particular being her favorite. Even after moving 35 minutes from that area, we would still drive there because no other place in the area was as good. Once the TexMex restaurant previoulsly at this location became Julio’s, we were done making those trips. Food is always good, never have a long wait, and its much closer than driving to Richmond from Charles City County. I recommend the Burrito Julio’s. You’ll have dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow.

Service friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was cheery. The lunch menu was blander than a typical Mexican restaurant.

We stopped by last Sunday coming back from beach. Beautiful restaurant — decorations are on point. Service was good. Food was served quickly. Will go back tonight.

I actually believe this business should get negative stars for the service that I just received last evening. We took the exit off of 64, to go to Bojangles. The sign coming off of 64 had us going the wrong way. So, we looked and saw Julio’s. We are big fans of Mexican, so we said let’s give it a try. When we got there, we were seated right away. It took them about 7 – 8 minutes before a young guy brought a basket of chips, salsa, and white sauce. The white sauce was so watered down that it tasted nasty. Finally, about 5 minutes after the chips arrived, the waittress showed up. She had been back at the kitchen area talking with the other waitresses and kitchen staff. We asked for our drinks, ordered dinner and 4 – 5 minutes later, she brought the drinks. I told her that the white sauce tasted like it was watered down and and that it was horrible. She said, «well, they just pour it out of a big jug in the kitchen». I sort of expected to hear something like, «I will advise the manager», or «would you like to speak to the manager». I asked her to bring some cheese sauce instead. She brought the cheese sauce back in a moment. When she brought the cheese sauce, we asked for silverware and napkins(never brought before then). She said, «oh yeah, I’ll be right back». The cheese sauce was so runny, that it wouldn’t stick to the chips. It just ran right off. Of course, she didn’t bring the silverware back right away, so no napkins to wipe our mouths with. She was, once again, standing back at the kitchen talking to the other restaurant associates. So, when they started to bring out the dinners, she stopped half way through the restaurant and went back towards the kitchen to get our silverware and napkins. I told her that she should really«wait» on her customers instead of standing back at the kitchen talking to her friends. I also told her about the cheese dip. She said, «Oh well». I asked to speak to someone. She sent the maitre de over to the table. I asked if he was the manager. He said that his brother was the manager. He asked me what the problem was. I started to tell hiim about the white sauce that we had earlier. He pointed out that there was cheese sauce on the table. I said, «yes, I’m talking about the white sauce that we had«earlier». He again said, «do you mean the cheese sauce?» I then asked to speak to his brother, the manager. He then told me that he wasn’t there. He said that he could be there in about 30 minutes, if I wanted to wait. I asked to speak to the manager on duty. He told me that was his mother, but I can only speak to her if I could speak Spanish, because she doesn’t speak English. I told him that obviously, he didn’t understand English either. He may speak it, but that sure as hell doesn’t mean that he understands. I also pointed out that the cheese sauce was watered down also. He said, «it’s supposed to be like that». 54 years old and I’ve eaten in hundreds of Mexican restaurants. Sure, when it first comes out, it is a little thin, but typically it thickens within a few minutes. This was 5 – 6 minutes later and it was still water and getting cold. I couldn’t take it anymore. I just got up and left. Worst, worst, worst service and white sauce and cheese sauce ever in any Mexican restaurant that I’ve ever been in. I should have seen the signs. When we pulled up, there weren’t many cars in the parking lot. Now, I know why. Save yourself from this place. Horrible service. We found Bojangles and had a decent dinner, after all.

I live in the county and have seen this place change hands and change names too many times to count. However this latest incarnation seems to be the best thus far. Don’t let the neon orange exterior scare you, the food is absolutely wonderful! I love the vegetarian fajitas as it includes broccoli and squash along with your typical onion, peppers, and mushrooms. We stopped in for Taco Tuesday last night and were treated to fresh beef tacos that were perfectly seasoned and so tasty. I will continue to sing the praises for this restaurant in hopes that they stay around!

Great Mexican food! We were on the way back to Richmond from new kent and decided to stop here for lunch. The service was a little slow but the food was great! I got a combination of 2 beef enchiladas and a taco with rice and beans. It was delicious with fresh ingredients and big taste! Would definitely come back!

We were here Sat., 05-10-2014, My family loves Mexican food and we live in New Kent so we finally decided to try this restaurant, Service was very slow, we were never asked if we needed anything or is everything okay or even«How was everything» on the way out as we paid. We had to track our server down every time we needed a refill or anything. The food was just average. Unfortunately this will be our first and our last visit.

The food is great and service is good. It’s nice to have a good Mexican restaurant here in New Kent. The Taco Tuesday special is nice too, it’s $ 1 hard tacos all day every Tuesday.

This is not real Mexican food. If you want extremely generic food containing flavorless rice, beans, meat and cheese this is the place for you. The service was shoddy at best.

This restaurant was great! We thought the food was excellent and can’t wait to return to try out some more menu items. Since New Kent county has a shortage of restaurants, this restaurant was a surprise and a great find. Highly recommend this place !

I love the food! I’ve only eaten inside once, but the place is very inviting and clean, which is important to me. Staff is very accommodating. I’ve ordered takeout several times and their food ready estimates are always accurate. I’ve never seen a packed house, but it’s probably my timing. They also have a nice patio outside with seating for warmer days. This is one of the few restaurants I frequent in New Kent because the food is so delicious. If you love Mexican food, stop by! They even offer corn tortillas for an even more authentic Mexican taste.

Awesome food. Great service! Just a small note to the teeny boppers in front of us. Have them separate you ticket when you order. That way you don’t have to tie things up figuring out who is gonna pay for that margarita no body wants to claim.

My wife and I live in New Kent and were glad to see a Mexican«joint» replace the previous failure in same location. We have been quite a few times and overall our experiences have been enjoyable. If you do go be sure and grab a punch card that will get you a free dinner after several visits! Also, if you like salsa with a kick ask for some of the«spicy» version!

A nice surprise! Great food, pleasant surroundings, excellent service, reasonable prices. We enjoyed the beef chimichangas and fajitas texanas. Large portions, very tasty! Will certainly be back to try more items on the large menu.

We came in late for lunch(3pm.) Staff was great, décor is charming, and the food was wonderful. A great addition to the Quinton restaurant lineup!
