Home2 Suites By Hilton – Rahway, NJ

This is a very nice hotel. The kitchenette is great, stocked with dishes and some cooking utensils. The rooms were clean and had a good size. The walls were, however, a bit thin, which made the room louder than I would have liked. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel for the price.

Stayed here for 2 nights for business. It’s about a 25 min. drive south of Newark airport. There are shopping centers, gas stations, and restaurants in the vicinity but not quite walking distance (I would not feel safe walking around the area so I recommend a car).
Pros:
The room was spacious and had everything I needed — HBO and easy to use TV, nice working station, full kitchen and brand new fridge/​freezer.
The bathroom had a nice sink, mirror, and lighting.
The gym was spacious and had free weights, a pull up bar, and treadmills.
Also, the bed was very comfortable… a nice mattress and extra soft sheets. Every time I laid down in it, I fell asleep instantly.
Cons:
As others have stated, there is a scent to the place. Not quite body odor, but rather an older hotel smell?
Also, the floor and walls seem rather thin. I could hear the person talking in the room next door and the people above stomping around.
I was impressed with the kitchen and that’s always important for me when traveling for business since I use it for work. I would stay here again if I were to visit for business.

I’ve never been to Rahway before. We however were here to see a family member. I chose to stay here because a family member in town already booked this hotel. Our stay here was pretty terrible yet I’m sad to say this is perhaps the best accommodation option in Rahway.
We were actually a little impressed with the size of the room and the softness of the bed sheets. It’s a Hilton after all and was comfortable by those basic standards. Not bad we thought until we opened the door and our entire second floor hallway reeked of disgusting pot smoke.
We walked down the hall to the elevator where we made our way through a crowd of 10 or so younger partygoers who were hanging out in front of the elevator and hanging like monkeys off bellcarts. It was a circus. One of these young men happened to comment in passing as I kept my head down that he couldn’t and quote wait for the fat hooker to show up.
Walking out of the elevator and into the lobby, we owned the great privilege of greeting this gross scantily dressed woman-​of-​the-​night as she entered the hotel lobby. The night manager on duty evidently didn’t feel that paying guests would mind passing prostitutes in the hallways clouded with pot smoke. Newsflash: we do.
Needless to say we didn’t just change rooms — we changed FLOORS. And the guy on duty that night obviously didn’t have any control over the situation developing.
I’ve never experienced anything like this before in a Hilton brand hotel. Motel 6? Maybe, but not Hilton.
Our Über driver that night informed us that this hotel is the and quote «hook up hotel» in Rahway.
We looked up to a second floor window from the parking lot and noticed a disturbing display of God knows what going on. I’ve never been so happy to check out and leave the twilight zone. Home2Suites ironically doesn’t live up to its name.
This place doesn’t have to turn into a dump if management enforced some rules.

Pros: Nice staff, spacious rooms, mini kitchen, etc. You can do your laundry and work out in the gym as well.
Cons: Smells like dogs and sound carries in the hallways.

I was impressed with this hotel!
I made arrangements for a late check in and was a little put back when I arrived only to see the front desk man munching down on a sandwich, but he got up with the quickness and came right over to handle my check in. After a couple minutes at the front desk he handed me my room key and directed me toward the elevators.
When I walked into the room, I was surprised to see a full sitting area and kitchen. The room was spacious and clean. It had everything I could possibly need or want while away from home. The front desk also sells frozen dinners and other simple things to whip up in your room to eat.
The hotel has an indoor pool, fitness, center, outside BBQ area, and a great outside seating area. Plenty of amenities for a small property.
The breakfast that the hotel provides is nothing amazing, as a matter of fact, I would say that it is lacking. They had items such as waffles, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, and these little breakfast sandwiches that you heat up in the warmer. It might just be the pregnant lady speaking, but the smell of the sandwich was enough to turn me away and the only other options were CARBS. Need-​less-​to-​say, I skipped and decided to go out for breakfast.
Either way, with Home2 by Hilton popping up all over the place, I will definitely check them out again.

I have stayed in some pretty bad hotels in my life (eg. dirty carpets, problematic managers, and even cigarette burns in the sheets) but I have never had an experience as bad as this one. Firstly, the managers have no idea how to manage. A few of my family members (no more than 4) attempted to visit me and one of the «security guards» told them that they were not allowed to visit me. I paid my money like everyone else and will not be told by someone else that I can’t have my family with me. Secondly, there’s and odd smell coming from the lobby. The hotel is called Home2, meaning I should be comfortable and at ease. I shouldn’t have to worry about bad smells. Lastly, the cleaning crew needs a better scheduling method. I don’t want to have to worry about wet floors first thing in the morning. Why should I have to worry about almost breaking my neck at 8:30 in the morning?

Best hotel I’ve been to in a long time. Very spacious and clean room. We had a full size refrigerator, a microwave and even a dishwasher.
The staff was very accommodating. I called the front desk because something was wrong with the iron and we were brought another one within 5 minutes.
Also there is free breakfast in the morning and also free wifi.

Had a great stay here over the weekend with my wife got snowed in and did not mind one bit. We usually book at homewood suite locations but found Home2 to be more suitable for our needs. the staff here is very friendly. Wish I took pictures but take my word for it best hotel in the area by far.

Stayed here for Valentine’s Day as a surprise for my bf and it was really nice. I enjoyed the king size studio suite. We stayed there for a total of 3 days and 2 nights. The price was fair however, I don’t like they fact that the hotel charges for damage even before the room is checked. I was told by a girl at the front desk that the price should be adjusted once the room in checked… Doesn’t make sense to me at all. Why charge me 288 for a room that is supposed to be 250. That will def change my mind about choosing that hotel again. Anyways the local is nice and because the hotel is new… Everything is nice. The breakfast can use work… No eggs or sausage ?! Really?! Cleaning chicks seemed rude as hell. Front desk seemed okay but weird. This hotel can be great but needs some adjustments. Def worth a one night stay… Not 2

We stayed here two nights recently. Nice place. Clean and modern. Rooms are nice and well appointed. The breakfast in the morning is good quality. The pool is nice. The only thing we didn’t like the hotel taxes that NJ charges. Twenty bucks a night basically, but that’s not the hotel’s fault.
We would definitely stay here again, and probably will.

The fridge was making an unbearably loud humming noise all throughout the night. Which forced my party into a state of grogginess and not being able to sleep. I couldn’t identify the problem until roughly 5 in the morning so I unplugged it. I called to get a late check out and was rudely refused and told that unplugging the fridge was had because the food would go bad. THERE IS NO FOOD IN THE FRIDGE. I am writing this review in this bed with zero sleep. Horrible horrible horrible customer service. Their general lack of concern is terrifying. STAY AWAY

GREAT idea!!! Finally one that works. The idea of the old hotel with a bed doesnt work anymore. Most of us require FULL amenities, like kitchen, workout area, etc. My only complaint is the bathroom which doesnt have a tub but the rest is awesome; huge fridge, nice desk for you to work, small living room if you have visitors. Etc. This place is the best one to stay around here if you are coming for business.

Absolutely great great place. From design to comfort to the excellent staff at breakfast and check in, I would have no other way to end a very long business tour! I mean The. Coolest. Place. Beautiful people and beautiful accommodations. Positive vibes over hereee.

Great new hotel in the area. I really like the new modern design on the Hilton home 2 suites. Very spacious and clean.

Good place to stay. I really enjoy the kitchen with coffee, fridge, freezer, stove and microwave. The bathroom is considerable large and the king bed is nice. Set up as an apartment-​style hotel.
However, I will say the two gals who were in charge of the front desk were as personable as door knobs.
