Specialties
For more than 45 years, we’ve been growing some of the most beautiful trees in the northwest for both retail and wholesale at Christmas.
Generations of families have been visiting our tree fields for years to select their family Christmas trees. As one of our long-time clients, Marilyn has cut her tree from our fields each year since 1975. She raves, «They are the best!»
In 2013, our family-owned and operated business has thousands of trees to choose from, throughout 75 acres of the farm. The most plentiful are the Douglas firs, but you will also find Grand Firs and Noble Firs as well.
At the farm, you’ll find hot cocoa, hot tea and coffee, candy canes, saws, and free baling. You can drive (weather permitting) or walk to the fields. Stop by the tree shop to pick up a saw and get your questions answered before you head out into the fields. Bring your family, your outdoor shoes or boots (the tree fields can be muddy after a big rain), and come find the perfect Christmas tree!
History
Established in 1966.
Sprouffske Trees Co. began 48 years ago in 1965 when Fred Sprouffske planted the first Douglas fir seedlings to grow Christmas Trees on his farm. He had previously leased 20 acres to Hoffert Tree Co. and thought it looked like an interesting endeavor.
In 1966, he spoke to each of his four children and the Sprouffske Tree Co., a partnership of the 5 families had its beginning with the first trees sold in 1972.
By the year 1978, the partnership became a corporation with wholesale and retail (u-cut) trees being sold along with swags and assorted Christmas items in the «Tree House» (retail sales area).
Fred and Ethel-Faye, and one son Larry and Mary his wife, and son-in-law Bill Roberts are now deceased. In the last few years, one of the original families, daughter Nancy, retired from Sprouffske Trees.
However, you’ll still find familiar faces when you come out to the Sprouffske Tree Farm, since three of the original five families still run the U-cut sales.
