Campus Crossings at Raleigh

*Warning: This review is lengthy but hopefully informative* I’ve currently lived at Campus Crossings for almost two years, and my roommates and I will be living here again next year. We have lived in two different apartments since being here, and each of them has had their pros and cons. We used to live on the first floor (very convenient), and now we live on the third floor which we like a lot better. We never had any huge issues when we were on the first floor, we could sometimes hear the persons above us dog if they were playing really rough, but other than that there were no real noise problems. When moving into an apartment complex it’s important to remember that the condition of your apartment is going to depend more so on who lived in your apartment before you than the apartment complex itself. I can tell you that there was a difference between our first apartment and second apartment in terms of quality for sure, but the office is more than happy to replace or repair things that they may have missed when fixing up the apartments. They replaced our carpet and vinyl, as well as our fridge and dishwasher because they were having some issues. Okay… Here we go. Yes, you can have overages. Honestly I can’t tell you where the numbers come from because sometimes my roommates and use less than our cap and sometimes we use more. In Campus Crossings’ defense, a majority of the issues with overages comes from Conservice (the utility management company for Campus Crossings,
) and they are a pain to get any information from. I did work at Campus Crossings at one point (this review is 100% my honest opinion, I know a LOT more about how apartment complexes work now and have a better perspective from both sides) and the office staff really doesn’t know anything about specific apartment overages. If you yell at Conservice long enough, you can probably get more accomplished, so please call them if you have issues (I linked their website above)! I do know that there have been issues with apartment overages throughout NC and I’ve been told that by next year «all inclusive» complexes who boast having no overages will have to take away that incentive and residents who enjoyed that incentive in the past may be billed for utilities they essentially didn’t pay for. On to other things… I have never had any issues as far as maintenance requests. I have heard friends of mine who live here complain about something being broken, but they have NOT put called the office to let them know. I can tell you that the maintenance guys here are great (Ricky, Chad, and Big Mike) and will gladly help you out even if you ask them something while they are driving around in their golf carts. They will replace your lightbulb if the light is out, they will unclog your bathtub or sink, they will fix your squeaky door… Anything. Sure, they can get busy with requests and sometimes they get lost, but if you call the office and let them know that something didn’t get done and that you need it to be done as soon as possible, they will get on it. As far as amenities go I really like Campus Crossings pool and volleyball area, they keep it clean and it never gets too crowded. The clubhouse is always clean and the gym is convenient if you don’t have a gym membership elsewhere (such as at NC State). You have a diverse group of people living here and in the spring and summer it’s easy to meet people when everyone is outside to play. The busses that take residents from Campus Crossings to NC State can be a hassle sometimes (they have improved from last year + hopefully the trend continues) and the office staff is 100% aware that their needs to be more communication between the bus drivers and the complex. I would recommend Campus Crossings to any of my friends, I have in the past and some of them have loved in and others not so much. As a logical and reasonable person, I’ve had a 99% positive experience living here. If you know your roommates, or generally get along with them, that can make all the difference. And you must take care of your apartment in order for it to remain nice, and if something isn’t what you thought it would be (within reason) I would definitely advise talking to the office to see what they can do. You’re not paying for a stay at the St. Regis, but having a good attitude and being respectful can make all the difference if you’d like the staff to give your apartment a little extra TLC. And to address the bug issue, EVERY apartment complex is going to have bugs. It is 100% inevitable. I did see more bugs while living on the first floor, and have seen maybe one or two on the third floor when the weather changes, but keeping trash out of your apartment and putting in work orders to have your apartment sprayed when you see a bug can make ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE.

This is an overall okay place to live. I don’t have much to complain about besides we always have a lot of overage charges. Maintenance is always good about fixing anything for us!

An ok apartment choice. You wi pay more than the advertised rate tho in overages. This was frustrating because when the alartment was leased the office said nobody ever goes over on the utilities allowance which was totally false. The maintenance crew is good tho, and the people in the complex are good for the most part.
