David G Polhemus D.

Business Owner

Dr. Polhemus received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in 1984. He attended dental school at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988. Dr. Polhemus opened his practice in 1988 providing comprehensive cosmetic, reconstructive and preventive family dental care.

Dr. Polhemus is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society and Raleigh-​Wake County Dental Society. He was on the board of directors that set up the Wake Smiles program, a clinic that provides dental care for the underprivileged.

Dr Polhemus especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry and continuously updates his skills and knowledge. Please do not hesitate to ask for a cosmetic evaluation or to see his before and after photographs.

When not in the office Dr Polhemus enjoys being outdoors fishing, skiing, golfing and traveling.

I have a completely irrational, extreme and yet entirely real fear of going to the dentist. In fact, my fear is so great that despite having incredibly good dental insurance through my employer, it took me 16 months after moving to Raleigh to work up the courage to go to the dentist. This place is fantastic! The staff are all wonderful and helped put me at ease. I saw Dr. Bannan who was patient and explained everything as he went. He was very thorough and I felt comfortable my entire visit from exam, to x-​rays, to the cleaning. I cannot recommend this place HIGHLY enough if you are looking for a dentist in Raleigh. They were also able to work me in incredibly fast. The office is bright and does not have a scary clinical feeling to it. There is also plenty of parking, which is a huge plus as I had to fight to find parking at my last dentist’s office that shared a lot with five other establishments.
