History

Established in 2002.

Edge of Urge opened its doors in Wilmington, NC, on July 4^th, 2002. Since then, our positive, personal, community-​driven and creative approach to retail has allowed us to prosper and grow, and we recently expanded to include a second store in Raleigh! We carry local and handmade designers and artists, as well as specially curated collections.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Jessie Williams began her business by knitting presents for her friends and selling out of a suitcase while she attended the Art Institute of Chicago. She knew she wanted to make a space for creatives to sell their work, so she packed her bags and headed back east to Wilmington, NC, where her family used to spend summers. She opened a storefront in a tiny storage unit by the water downtown, where she sold the things she and her friends had made. Her personality and perseverance paid off, she invested in an amazing team and beautiful designers, and together they built the brand into what it is today.
