Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh- Crabtree

I cannot say enough about this hotel… I stayed here for almost six months, and the staff here absolutely made me feel as if this was just an extension of my own home. Everyone greeted me by name in the evenings and was never anything less than friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have everything I could need while away from home (and when I did find something that I had forgotten, the staff was more than helpful in finding a replacement for me). I have recommended it to everyone I know and look forward to being back.

When working in the Raleigh /​RTP area, this is one of my favorite hotels. Good location with lots of restaurant options nearby. Easy interstate access. Just a few minutes from RDU or downtown

I love this Hotel! We stay here every time we come to Raleigh. Good value, spacious rooms, breakfast daily and dinner Monday — Thursday. The staff is friendly and accommodating!

Friendly staff, clean rooms and a great set up. The showers are a little finicky and it seems to be a common problem. Overall it was great, bathrooms just need updating

We did Priceline for this hotel and got it at a great deal! I have to say the hotel was nice and our room was clean and very nice. They dont have a ice machine but asked one of the employes Gonzalez and he took us to the kitchen and got us ice for our cooler. The only problem we had was the front lady Seneca was rude and not friendly at all when checking in.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years. It’s one of the nicer moderately priced hotels within the Crabtree area. The staff members are friendly and the hotel is well maintained. The hotel has one and two bedroom suites which include a small kitchnette. The hotel features a free breakfast buffet each morning and free wireless internet. It is located within walking distance of the Crabtree Valley Mall and several restaurants.
During my most recent stay I did encounter an unexpected problem with parking. After I checked in I received a call fron the front desk clerk asking if the room was ok and then he said he forgot to give me a parking pass for my car and would slide it under my room door. I did receive the parking pass and left my room to meet some friends for dinner. When i returned back to the hotel at 11pm I found that all of the hotel parking spaces were taken and lots of illegally parked cars were everywhere and more cars were entering the hotel lot trying to find a space to park. I also noticed a large number of people who had parked in the hotel lot were walking to the business next door «Crabtree Tavern».
I decided to park at the hotel entrance and went to the front desk to get an explanation about the parking. The front desk clerk apologized and said that the business next door (Crabtree Tavern) occassionally has special events and their parking lot is not large enough to handle the crowd. I asked the desk clerk if they would tow the illegally parked cars as their signs indicated «towing enforced» and he responded that it would be up to the security guard to take action. The desk clerk made a note of my car type and told me it would be fine to leave it parked at the hotel entrance for the night. It was clear to me that the hotel management did not have a handle on this apparent re-​occuring problem.

I called this place home for 3 months. It started off a bit rough. My first week, they placed me in a room (215) with a «high-​beam» light outside. As a result, at night, my bedroom looked like a huge flashlight ~ yes, due to some college event, they were unable to change me to a different room. Ouch! My second week, found a huge ass cockroach in my shoe. Yup, I stubbed it in my left shoe and smashed it in the morning with my big toe. Honestly, I was ready to call it quits there…
With the exception of the two events above, my experience here was very good. Here are my bullet points.
1. They have good customer service (except that first week)
2. Rooms are nice, clean, and spacious
3. Internet service is okay (somewhat slow and spotty)
4. Maid service is excellent
5. Best part is the dinner on Monday — Thursday. My favorite meals here are the Fried Chicken, Wings, and Chicken Dumplings.
6. Conveniently located to a very cool Bar/​Tavern (Crabtree Tavern) — highly recommend their wings and Prime Rib

I’ve stayed at a few Homewood Suites and this has to be the worst of them all. The room I was assigned had this funky smell that lingered everyday. Amenities were typical Homewood, but they provide free dinner on weekdays and Bud Light on draft. Even with the beer, a cockroach running across the floor is unacceptable.

One piece of advice I have regarding the driving directions to the Homewood Suites: if you’re coming from RDU, don’t take 70, take 40 instead. The route from 40 is more direct than driving down 70 (takes longer).
We found a great rate for this Homewood Suites online (Hotwire, I believe?), which was about ½ of their regular «weekday» rate ($ 129). One thing to keep in mind: breakfast is only served through 10am. So if you plan to sleep in at this place and not eat breakfast until 10, don’t count on the breakfast being there.
Staff here is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are quite spacious (ours even had a «half-​wall» to indicate the separation between the living room/​kitchen area and the work/​desk area). Only thing I’d complain about is the parking lot — for the size of the hotel, it certainly doesn’t seem all that big. It especially doesn’t seem big when the new bar/​restaurant just (?) opened next door and their patrons’ cars were spilling into the parking lot of the Homewood Suites.
3.5 shakas, bumped up another ½ shaka because of the great rate we got. :)

i frequently stay here during business trips to the Raleigh area. This is my first choice of hotels, and I am disappointed when there are no rooms available. The hotel is located right behind the Crabtree Valley Mall, so you are within walking distance to great shopping and dining. Also, very easy access to the I-​440 beltline and only minutes from downtown Raleigh and RDU Airport.
The accommodations here are very nice for the price. This hotel won’t break your budget, and every room in the hotel is a suite, meaning you have a separate living room and bedrooms, along with a small kitchenette area (full refrigerator, stove top, sink, cabinets w/​dishes & silverware). The furniture and bedding is very comfortable!
The hotel has a daily manager’s reception each evening (5:30 — 7:30) with free beer/​wine (typically Bud Light on tap and some average house wines). The meal they serve is usually edible, but not much better. With so many great dining options nearby, you’re doing yourself a disserve not to check them out, but it’s nice to have a free dinner if you choose.
Also, the hotel serves free breakfast each morning. Some hot items (biscuits/​gravy, eggs) along with cereals, muffins, do-​it-​yourself waffles, yogurt, and juices. Not bad for being complimentary, but don’t expect a gourmet feast.
The staff is very friendly and very helpful if you should need anything during your stay. I always enjoy staying here, and I highly recommend this Homewood Suites!
