Specialties
Established in 1988, Juniper Level Botanic Garden’s mission is to promote and preserve botanic diversity by bridging the gap between botany and horticulture. This includes plant exploration both in the US and abroad, plant study, identification, and educational outreach, followed by selection, breeding, and plant propagating to make new and rare perennials plants available to share with gardens, gardeners, and researchers around the world.
History
Established in 1988.
The goal and passion at JLBG is to be one of the most unique botanic gardens in the world. In the quest for new plants, JLBG have initiated over 80 botanical expeditions and sponsored many more, both domestic and global, since 1994. JLBG also works closely with the top plant explorers and breeders around the world to grow and evaluate the best in new ornamental plants. Few, if any, plant nurseries or botanic gardens can match the diversity of the JLBG plant collections, which currently numbers over 22,000 taxa, of which many have original provenance data.
