The MARI is a comprehensive system that uses symbols, known as mandalas, to reveal the inner truth and reality of the subject as it is –not what the ego filters of consciousness would want it to be, but what it really is.

Carl Jung recognized the mandala as «the centre of personality, a kind of central point within the psyche, to which everything is related, by which everything is arranged and which is, itself, a source of energy. This center,» said Jung, «is not felt or thought of as ego but, if one may so express it, as the self.»

Jung’s description of the mandala is also an excellent description of the MARI.

Our goal is to provide a quality training program and excellent service in the administration of teacher training and certification. We also promote creativity and innovation within the organization, particularly in areas that promote practitioner satisfaction and continuing education, by providing products and services at a reasonable cost.

History

Established in 2005.

I have 25 years experience in a private counseling practice and specialized in short-​term, positively oriented counseling.

I was trained on MARI in 1997. It was not until I purchased MARI in 2005, however, that I was able to make numerous improvements to MARI, based on the newest psychological research, which allowed for rapid healing to occur.

The idea of doing counseling in one session is unheard of in traditional psychology. MARI, however, is not based on the medical model, but rather, the assumption that every person is potentially whole. Further, while issues may be revealed on MARI, it also provides the opportunity to address them immediately. (This is important because trauma is stored at the cellular level, and once evoked is in a malleable state for only about six hours.)

In most cases, MARI can identify issues and provide the opportunity to address them in one session.

If the client is ready, MARI allows for the healing to happen.

Michele (Shelley) Takei has a Ph.D. in Psychology. She is the owner of MARI Creative Resources, a Jungian psychological tool that is based on symbols and color. MARI (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) is an enjoyable and non-​threatening assessment that reveals a visual picture of one’s psyche.

She has extensive experience in counseling –having had a thriving private practice for more than 25 years.

Shelley is the author of «SHE-​Q» a book about the wisdom of women.

Shelley and her husband are also the owners of «Angel House» — a thriving guest house in Lily Dale, New York.

She lives in Raleigh with her husband. Their three children and five grandchildren also reside in Raleigh.

She and her husband have taught psychology and philosophy, respectively, at universities in Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina.
