A solid four for this version of the creative doughnut experience that’s seemingly not going away anytime soon. Rise Biscuits & Donuts are a clever twist to the craze of the donut world! They do biscuits, and very cleverly they are not the normal bacon/egg variety. However, I had already eat so I didn’t try any of the biscuit varieties and will withhold judgment til later! The donuts are extremely varied in that there’s anything from a more traditional Old Fashioned, to a Captain Crunch, and even a Smores! The Old Fashioned was extremely good and slightly different in that it didn’t seem to be deep fried with that hard exterior. However this version is done is beside the point! It’s more of a baked variety, not too sweet, hardly any glaze, and some crumbles on the exterior! The Chocolate Covered Glazed was everything you’d hope for in the fact that the donut itself was good, and the chocolate used to top it was of a good quality chocolate! They say the lines can get long, and the fact that once they’re out they’re done tells me that they’re confidant in their product! I am as well and may be even more so after I try more of their unique offerings!

This place is amazing! Do yourself a favor and call to see if they have the crème brûlée donut… If so treat yourself! You deserve it ;)

Not only does Rise serve up the BIGGEST chicken biscuit I have ever seen, it is also the BEST i ever had! Great service too. My only issue is that the iced tea was a little skunky, like it had been sitting out for way too long. I guess I should have went with a fresh cup of coffee instead!

Not only are their featured flavors delicious the coffee blend they sell is the perfect compliment to these sweet airy fluffy donuts. The biscuits are some of the best I’ve had and the eggplant bacon yes you heard me pretty darn good! Fast friendly service RISE is a welcome addition to Cameron Village.

I love rise! Great doughnuts and always awesome and creative toppings and fillings, like fruity pebbles! Also have the best chicken biscuits around. Add pimento cheese!

When ranking chicken biscuits, I’d say Dunkin’ Donuts is like being friends with Sarah Silverman and maybe hooking up with her by mistake after a few drinks. Bojangles is up there with going to dinner with Adriana Lima, she pays for the whole thing(!!) and later on, you make out for a few hours. Well, when it comes to Rise’s chicken biscuits, I’m likening them to dating Jessica Lucas and then she brings Kelly Brook into the mix. I hope this makes some kind of sense because I’ve lost focus and don’t know where I’m going anymore… Basically Rise is asskickingly great at making chicken biscuits and pretty darn good at donuts too. I’ve had different kinds of both and always walked away satisfied and smiling(that’s what she said). I’ll get back to those biscuits in a sec, but let’s talk about the donuts. I’ve always loved crème brûlée’ donuts, going way back to my days stalking Donut Plant in Chelsea, NYC. Rise’s version is up there with them. And though I’ve never had the salted caramel donut anywhere else, I do remember loving the ice cream flavor, most notably at Ample Hills Creamery in Brooklyn, where I lived for years. In short, these guys are doing donuts just right and eating them resurfaces some fine memories. Back to those biscuits. Dallas Chicken & Biscuits in Apex is always consistent with their tasty product, a bit like jello wrestling Nathalie Emmanuel. Rise biscuits are always good but only sometimes fantastic. My first time eating there, the chicken and egg biscuit was juicy, perfectly breaded and I tasted the butter in every bite. Second time, the chicken was a bit tough and dry, but the taste was still wonderful. Not always perfect, but they never suck. Another time, I had the fried baloney biscuit because I’m from Asbury Park and we get down like that sometimes. It was great. Like being saved by Wonder Woman, with her holding me oh so closely… Misfires are being ignored on purpose. You’re better off taking everything to go because the little counter by the door provides zero dining experience. And the outside seating is okay, but useless in the rain. The one restroom is drab and feels icky — a coat of lively paint would make for a more comfortable visit. And while the service is friendly, I ordered a frosted donut once and when I took it out of the bag, the frosting came off, stuck to the wax paper it was wrapped in. When I took it back, they gave me an extra one for free. Good show. But, I can’t say enough great things about the chicken biscuits on their best day. When viewed in the right light, it can be a life-altering event. I once had a honey chicken biscuit there and it blew my mind, making me scream«Oh Kelly! Oh Jessica! Oh God, Beyonce’! Wait, Beyonce’…when’d you get in here??? Haha, lucky day!!» Now get into that car and buy yourself a mess of Rise chicken biscuits. Tell them the loud Yankee who acts like he’s having orgasms sent you. Better yet, no… don’t do that.

Delicious. Expensive since we had 2 biscuits, coffee and 2 donuts for $ 17. But yummy.

The biscuits here are everything you could want, and more! Thick and fluffy, super comforting… Kinda like your favorite grandma. I was visiting from out of town and got a variety of donuts to go. The flavors and decorations are so tempting, it’s hard not to want to try them all. But they’re just… Eh. The maple bacon bar? Great piece of bacon, maple flavored icing, but that’s about it. The bacon kept falling off as I tried to eat it. A piece even hit the floor. Bacon tears were shed. That long bar held such promise. The crème brûlée donut had a nice hard sugar crunch on the outside, but the filling tasted more like a bland pudding than a custard. Don’t get me wrong, if someone brought me a donut from here, I’d appreciate and enjoy it. But, I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to stop back by. Unless it was for a biscuit!

Post drinking perfection. Big, fluffy, crumbly biscuits served with a thick slab of sausage, four choices of cheese, and freshly scrambled eggs. Ummm yes please. Don’t like that? Order chicken, plain, or other choices. Don’t like biscuits? Get a donut. The key lime was sublime. Super friendly staff, quick service, good coffee. Limited seating but tables outside.

To. Die. For. Really I don’t need to say much more. I’m not embarrassed to say I eat a lot of donuts, I mean a lot. I have been known to frequent Duck Donuts, Monuts, Bakers Dozen. I even eat the occasional Harris Teeter donut when need be AKA at least once a month. Rise is my favorite in the Triangle. I haven’t tried a donut I haven’t liked there, and if donuts aren’t your thing the biscuits are the bomb. Parking is easy. The customer service is friendly and great. If you do get a donut try something unique and something classic, both will be great.

Some of the best and unique biscuits around. They change up their special biscuits and donuts pretty regularly, so don’t miss out. We had the classic SAUSAGEBISCUIT, the CHICKENBISCUIT with Wisconsin white cheddar, and the FRIEDGREENTOMATOBISCUIT. All were awesome, can’t wait to get another fix… We also tried the POTATOHASHCAKE, a cheesy fried potato cake… yummy! And of course, don’t forget the donuts!

Sorry, I’m not a fan. Very expensive donuts that just don’t stand out to me in anyway except for the ungodly amount of frosting and junk they put on them. It was like fancy cupcake icing covering a average donut. I got a half dozen for around $ 11(geesh), all of the donuts are individually priced depending on whatever is on them, you can save 10% if you get a dozen. which would put the price around $ 19-$ 20+ for a dozen. I ordered a crème brûlée, a smore, 2 old fashioned, and 2 chocolate frosted. I’ll critique individually. –Crème Brulee — I said I ordered one but they gave me two smores instead. I didn’t notice until I got in my car, because of the weird way they take and fill orders(one guy takes your order by writing it all down, you pay, and then another guy fills the order not from the case but from somewhere behind him while you wait on the side). It was pouring so I didn’t go back in. –Smore — Ugh! overly sweet, dont get this unless you’ve got a drink. The marshmallow frosting was intensely sweet but gritty with unbroken down sugar. –Old Fashioned — Lemon! that’s all I could taste was an extreme lemon flavor. I normally like lemon but not this and not what I expect from an old fashioned donut. I guess I missed where it said lemon icing. –Chocolate Frosted — The most basic and best donut I got. A decent donut with the top simply dipped in good chocolate frosting. Oh well, since my wife and I were not impressed I wont have to splurge on these pricey donuts again. I may at some point try a biscuit sandwich and will revisit my score.

I’ve been to Rise before in Durham, but it’s been a minute. I really enjoyed that experience. This one was enjoyable too. I got several donuts. The only one I’ve bitten into so far is the«old fashioned». It’s very much of the melt-in-your-mouth variety. I’m excited to try the pineapple basil, and of course the maple-bacon bar. A little«played», but who cares. That shizzit tastes good on a donut. I think Voodoo Donuts in PDX invented it though, to be fair… I like giving credit, where credit is due. These donuts are a little pricey for the fancier ones, but not completely unreasonable for the quality. I really wish I hadn’t just had lunch, because I kinda really wanted the pulled pork biscuit. I’ve been craving pork lately for some reason. Don’t worry though, I’ll be back. That’s a promise.

I love their donuts. Fine, I’ve only had one. But the staff was friendly, the options a-plenty and the coffee was good. The store’s brand new and the interior’s attractive with good signage and uplifting colors. I had the caramel apple butter donut — it was SO good. They accept credit cards, there’s good parking options in a lot… you’re in and out in no time. I definitely recommend it.

Let me start by telling you how shitty my day was yesterday. So unlike many other people, we were not prepared for this weather; we did not go to grocery shopping but we were like«Ah it’s just snow, it shouldn’t be too bad and we will figure something out». Well we shouldn’t have trusted our guts. FYI we did not have power for few hours, so no light, no food, etc. We had to endure this cold weather & hunger with noodle, and when I woke up this morning, all I could think of was. nice breakfast. something like«Rise Biscuits & Donuts». My hubby woke up around noon -(yeah thanks, now I cannot have any donuts because they are probably gone by now) — and I dragged him to Rise Donuts just to get some biscuits. I’ve been here few times but I don’t know why I never pay attention to their menu. Did y’all know that they have Korean BBQ Biscuit?! How come I did not know about that biscuit? And I am Korean?! I always tell people that«Ah, I am so Asian/Korean» and I never knew about their Korean BBQ biscuit! As soon as we walked in, my hubby said«Well have you tried that korean biscuit» and I said«Where» he pointed and said«Umm. right there». I was literally shocked. I mean Kimchi and Biscuit? I think Rise people are so freaking brilliant. Well, they got my attention and I decided to try that biscuit and my hubby got regular chicken biscuit. And yes, like you see from many other Unilocalers awesome reviews, if you show up there around noon– 1pm, you won’t be able to get any good donuts. There were only regular glazed donuts & chocolate donuts left(I wanted to try that smore donuts so bad!!). Back to my Korean bbq biscuit, since they had to make my «fresh» biscuit, it almost took 10 minutes. I was so hungry, so I was very impatient but well it was very worth waiting. My biscuit was SO stuffed– lots of kimchi, huge pork, and lots of spicy sauce!!! I mean it was Ahhhhmazing. kimchi was perfect, pork was huge and I loved that sauce so much– I could taste a little bit of hot/spicy flavor, but it had some sweet flavor at the same time. I’ve had few other biscuits but this Korean BBQ biscuit was the best one so far and I was so full by the time I finished my biscuit. My only complaint was that pork– it was too big. and I made a hell of mess. I loved the fact that my biscuit was so stuffed but if they could cut that big pork to smaller pieces, that would be awesome. I love Rise and I think I am going to visit them even more often thanks to this korean biscuit! Thanks for making my Sunday better because my weekend could’ve been sh! tier without your biscuit.

Came back to give Rise a second chance. This time, we got the biscuits that we ordered and they were delicious! Service was much better. I ordered the fried chicken biscuit with fried egg & pimiento cheese and it was really good. The biscuit was fluffy and the chicken & egg were cooked to perfection. The batter on the chicken was very tasty, couldn’t put my finger on what spices they used. My girlfriend and her friend ordered a country ham biscuit with runny egg and white cheddar cheese. I may have liked their’s even better. The cheese actually made the biscuit and actually overpowered the other flavors, in a good way(who doesn’t love cheese?!). We still kind if had a sour taste in our mouth though considering we weren’t happy with the resolution of our previous visit, so I couldn’t give a perfect score.

It’s both a very good and very bad thing that there is now a Rise in Cameron Village. Where I used to treat myself to their delicious biscuits a few times a year I could now eat there every day if I wanted to… Yeah, this is going to be a problem. Strangely enough I have only been once so far but like the Durham location this Rise is delicious as usual! The space is extremely small(much like Durham) but provides a few outside tables, so myself and my friend grabbed some food, took a seat and chowed down! I got a bacon and white cheddar biscuit and an original doughnut(i’m a sucker for simple), and both were very good. The biscuit was light and fluffy and the bacon and cheese were fresh as well. My only issue was that the cheese was cold… It would have been a five star sandwich if it was melted. The doughnut was great as usual, as was the coffee(and free refills to boot!). All the other doughnuts looked delicious as well so i’ll be sure to be back soon to try them. The only other thing i’m not a huge fan of is the price. Sure the food is good but spending $ 5 for biscuit is kinda crazy. If I tried to make this a regular occurrence I would definitely go broke. Price aside If you’ve never been to Rise definitely check it out now that there are multiple locations!

Whether you’re a sweet or savory breakfast seeker, Rise is the perfect place for an easy and delicious breakfast. The line on a Saturday morning went out the door and around the block, so I’d suggest checking it out on a weekday before work or during lunch. Although I’m not a donut fan, the selection they had was amazing. Crème brûlée, pepper jelly, Cheerwine icing — you name it. There were so many delicious biscuit options I had trouble choosing! Ultimately we went with a bacon egg and cheese and a pig in a blanket, which was a sausage with fig jam and Swiss wrapped in dough. We also got one of their hash brown cakes, which was the perfect texture and right amount of crunchy and cheesy. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the coffee was terrible. For a place where breakfast(donuts, biscuits) is your primary food, good coffee is a must… Besides that, I can’t wait to go back and check out the fried eggplant or pimento cheese biscuits!

One .two… who am I kidding our love can’t be quantified. Rise is using high quality ingredients to create nummy donuts to brighten our lives. You should go, and thank me later. Don’t worry about the crumbs on your shirt, they’re badges of honor.

They are doing pretty well for their official opening day, Rise is now open at Cameron Village! About 12 of us were in line at 7am(don’t judge) and the line moved pretty quickly. With the usual interior of orange and light blue, the menu here is about the same as other locations but they did have a specials board which could be unique. I ordered up a chicken biscuit with runny egg and white cheddar which was VERY good. Fluffy and crispy biscuit with great chicken and cheese, yum… They had a very large staff here for opening day so I’m guessing that service may be hit or miss in their first month or two of operation as they settle things down. When I left at 7:15, there were already 15+ people in line so the word is out. And this spot is literally 3 minutes from my condo by car, time to break out the stretchy pants…
