Snip-its

Waited 30 minutes without anyone acknowledging we were even there. When someone finally came over they said we had to wait longer because people with appointments were coming in. No apology or explanation why they didn’t give us a heads up when we first got there. No one there seemed nice at all. Waited 5 more minutes and then just got up and left. Never going back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

My wife has visited this place twice with mixed results. This most recent visit was on 5-​28-​2015.
The first stylist did a terrific job, was warm and friendly. 5-​star for her. Unfortunately no record of her name to plan for second visit. Just know that she was an older woman of Asian descent.
Receptionist was unfriendly to my wife on both visits. Feeling unwelcome when you walk into a salon is not a way of keeping customers coming.
Second stylist was terrible and also made my wife feel unwelcomed. Rolling of the eyes and looking away with a look of annoyance is something that is VERY noticeable. She was rude and impatient towards my wife.
Will never set foot in this place again.

A little expensive for a 5 minute trim, in my opinion. The staff is nice and friendly towards my child, but simply spraying hair down with water from a spray bottle and trimming off a few inches is not really worth $ 20 bucks. No layering or bangs, just a simple blunt cut.
I would have maybe given 4 stars, but the waiting area just isn’t up to par for a kids place. Toys are broken and colored all over. The waiting area (where kids are to play) looks like it needs a good scrub down.

I took my son to get his first haircut at Snip-​its. The receptionist was warm and welcoming. The stylist was great. My son had a good time. The gave us a lock of hair and certificate to mark his first haircut. Highly recommend. We will be returning~!

The first two or three times I went here, things were great. The stylist were kind and the cuts were good. I got many compliments on my daughter’s stacked bob cut. We went last weekend and they were a bit short handed. I know my daughter didn’t sit very still. Her hair cut (a straight cut) was very uneven. We went back last night and they fixed her hair. They even thanked me for bringing her back so they could have a chance to fix it. The second stylist cut it, checked it, and even blow dried it to check to be sure it was even. The manager gave a coupon for $ 5.00 off the next cut and apologized several times. I will probably go back again but I’ll be sure to ask for Erika.
I’ve been using Snip-​Its since my 8 year old was 1. We love the franchise. It has helped us many times since my son was very afraid of hair cuts as a toddler.

What a waste.
I took my 4 year old for a cut. The stylist began by shoving a sucker in her mouth (without asking either of us). Seems pretty concerning for kids with dietary restrictions. For what it’s worth, she didn’t need the sucker — she sits perfectly still for cuts.
We chose a haircut from their book. The stylist did NOT give her that cut and, even better, didn’t give her an even cut! She was super rough, jerking her head around the entire time.
When I pointed out how uneven the back was, she blew me off, saying «Nope, it’s straight!» without looking.
I think it goes without saying that we will NOT be returning.

I have been taking my kids here for about 6 months. We drive down from Durham because we HATED the snooty experience at peekadoo, and, after a butcher-​job on my daughter’s bangs at supercuts, decided to find another kids place in the triangle, even if we had to drive half an hour to find it! Long story short, I LOVE this place. Donna, who was the last one to cut my 4 year old daughter’s hair listened to exactly what I wanted, made suggestions, and worked together with me to get the cut just right. My boys (ages 2 and 6) are a bit easier — just standard «little boy» haircuts. I tell them only scissors on the little one — he’s scared of the clippers. Anyway, my 2 year old now LOVES getting his hair cut and my 6 year old enjoys the video games and the prize at the end. I will say that, yes, $ 17 is a lot for a haircut, but you can earn credits for referrals AND they were running a special for cheaper haircuts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not sure if this is still the case, but I hope so — I’m taking both boys this afternoon! Also, while they do have a small shop area, I am very appreciative of the fact that it’s not a toy store in disguise. I am coming for haircuts, not to spend money I don’t have on toys!

We brought our son here twice. The first time I loved the experience, the girl did a great job and interacted well with our son, he was about a year at the time, though the price was pretty steep I was happy with the cut he looked very cute.
Despite the price we made the choice to take him back because of what a great job the girl did the first time. So we went over the weekend for his second cut, and it was our LAST visit.
We got a different woman this time, I had a feeling we were in trouble from the start. We sit our son down and she starts to put the cape on him. So I stopped her and said shouldn’t he be buckled in? She looks down and says I think there are buckles here. Are you serious? You’re working at a children’s hair salon and you’re not even sure if there are buckles on the chair or not? My son is 15 months old, he can’t sit in a chair that high without being buckled in, he could get hurt. So I buckled him and brushed it off and let her continue. I told her what kind of cut we wanted, and she starts going on about whether we want her to use the clippers or just scissors. I’m thinking I don’t care as long as it looks good but I informed her that the last time we came she used just scissors and it looked really good. Instead of doing that she tells us that clippers in the back and sides and scissors on top would look more even. Fine, whatever gets the job done. My son was very well behaved. Looked around a little but didn’t throw any tantrums or try to wiggle away. She showed it to use but it was hard to get a good idea of what it looked like because she had stuck gel in it while cutting it claiming that she had to because he still had baby hair and it wouldn’t stand up to cut it. This woman seriously acted like she had never cut a child’s hair before! Trusting that it was right we went and paid the ridiculous 17.99 for the cut.
We go out to eat after and start to really examine his hair and the first thing we notice is that she did a hack job in the back, so his hair line on his neck looks funny. That night we give him a bath, and after his hair dried we realize that the top is all uneven!!! And then she barely took anything off his bang area! So pretty much he’s going to need another cut to trim up his bangs and to even out the mess on the top of his head!!! I’m so ticked off over all of this.
I will NEVER go back and am warning all of my friends. I saw a sign on the way home that said yard sale and hair cuts. I laughed at the time, but we probably would have been better off going there.

We paid $ 17 for an good, super-​fast toddler haircut. Our hairdresser was very nice, and great with my daughter. The store is very kid-​friendly. There are tons of toys to play with while you wait.
Overall, it was a good experience. My only complaint is that $ 17 seems like a lot for a 3 – 5 minute haircut. We’ve also taken our daughter to Great Clips and I’m not convinced that Snip-​Its is worth the extra money.

We had a terrible experience. It is not worth your money. We were not acknowledged and we felt like we were asking for a favor instead of being appreciated as customers. This particular store does not know how to provide a good client experience.

Bad hair cut and overpriced. Seem like you pay more for «entertainment». The kids think it’s fun and I wouldn’t mind paying a little extra if they got a good hair cut, but I can do a better job myself. And I have.

Let me first start by saying this is my first Unilocal review and unfortunately it is a bad one. We celebrated my niece’s 4^th birthday this past weekend at Snip-​Its.
As soon as we got there, the woman in charge (I believe her name is Arie??, she was african american with short hair), rushed us in and started ordering us around. It was like Hitler running a birthday party. She told all the moms they were not allowed in the party room. We were a bit taken back by this because the girls ranged from age 2 to 6 and they needed their moms there. And the lady was basically yelling at the parents to get out of the room. My sister finally had to request that she wanted the parents inside during the party. The lady said «I don’t like moms in here.» And my sister said, «Well, we are paying for this and I would like my friends to stay here.» She finally shut up and agreed. We watched as she tugged on the kids hairs with no mercy and was yelling orders at them. All the mothers noticed this and were so offended by this woman’s actions.
At the end of the party on the paperwork… they asked for a tip. A TIP??? Are you kidding me? For… what exactlY? For doing everything your own way and not how the mother wants it? The mother who is PAYING over $ 200 for the party? And let me tell you, the hair do’s that were done were HIDEOUS. Needless to say, she got NO tip.
Will NEVER be doing a party here and recommend you ALL to stay away. I wish I could give zero stars.
