If you’re hungry… don’t order from this place. You can expect to get your food about two hours after you order. Literally the worst delivery service in Raleigh. I just called to check on my order which I placed an hour ago and they haven’t even relayed my order to the resturant yet. Happens every time I order from them… try orderup or doorstep delivery if you actually want to receive the order you pay for.

Food arrived to my extended family back home in Raleigh. I ordered the Q Shack for their meal train and they loved it. The process ordering online was super easy and you can order in advance and set the time. This is a wonderful service, especially if you are ordering for others.
Delivery fees were very reasonable.
I will be using again in the future!

When this business first opened, it was hit or miss. But I have come to appreciate it more and more as several new spin-​offs have been opened. And they are all trying to steal the market. I fell for it, too… first-​time discounts, etc.
There’s just no replacement for the original.
Sure, orders are late sometimes. And, depending on where you order from, sometimes items or missing or the wrong toppings get put on the pizza. It happens here more rarely than at my919. dine and Doorstep Delivery (omg, DD is the WORST). The thing about Raleigh Takeout (or Takeout Central, whatever) is this:
* Whenever you call, a real human being picks up within a few rings.
* Nobody fights you or uses excuses instead of apologies.
* You never have to argue or try to talk your way into restitution.
In fact, the very last time we ordered, it was late at night from Remedy. My sandwich was missing chips, and it was made with the butt-​end of the gluten-​free sandwich bread (which is edible, but for a $ 10 sandwich? c’mon, a little effort). Instead of calling (because it was late and I just wanted to go to bed anyway), I wrote them an email saying, «Just so you know, here’s how our order was messed up. We didn’t call because it was late.» That’s it. Just the facts. No request. I expected no response, and honestly I didn’t care. But the next morning, I had a reply from a manager saying that was unacceptable and giving me a coupon code for $ 10 off my next order. How’s that for customer service? So I ordered again with my coupon, and everything was on time and delivered earlier than expected.
Mistakes happen. How businesses handle those mistakes speak to its character. Way to go, guys.

Ordered from them and it took an hour and 10 minutes. only 10 minutes longer than the hour they said it would take, which can be expected especially since it is a rainy Saturday night. I’m sure they are busy. When the food got here it was cold so I had to spend another 10 minutes reheating the food in the oven. Honestly reheated Mexican is not that great. Really doesn’t seem worth the convenience to pay almost twice what my meal cost, between the $ 5 delivery fee and tip, to end up with cold food. I doubt I’ll be using them again.

Always reliable, especially in the past few years drivers seem to be personable, more professional. Their new logos and uniforms are nice. They’ve got a lot of newer restaurants and a wide variety to choose from, lots of specials each week as well for free delivery. They’re honest about delivery times and even when it takes a while the foods hot. Takeout Central is now their new name, I guess. Either way, same great service. Helps when you can’t leave the house or office or in this heat!

I’ve used Raleigh Takeout for years. Many times the food is very late, without a phone call or any notice (customer service?). The drivers look sloppy and are usually in street clothes. I have only seen a company shirt once which lets me know they have uniforms but I guess don’t care about what their drivers look like or if they wear them? What really got me is I’ve had food show up at my door in grocery bags rather than a hot bag so of course the food was cold. Needless to say if you want delivery you can use them, but expect mediocre service, you will at least get food delivered to your home. Its just inconsistent, you never know what kind of service you are going to get each time, sometimes good, sometimes bad. There is a new service in town called Doorstep Delivery that I have used a few times and everything has been top notch so far with them so even though I’ve used this service for years, I’ll probably be making the switch permanently.

I called Raleigh Take Out from San Francisco to help me get some awesome grub to my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day (since I obviously can’t cook for him on the West Coast). I corresponded with the manager Brad and they helped me with a hand written note and coordinated with the restaurant to make it special. I expressed to Brad that this was important to me and he made sure everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, I had scheduled the order for 7pm but my boyfriend was not at his house and the RTO driver patiently waited 30 minutes for him to show up. During this time, Brad had called me to let me know what was going on.

What an epic disappointment. Food was COLD (from a restaurant less than 3 miles from my house) and not only that, was spilled all over the bag. The quality of the food was terrible too, but that’s another review for the restaurant.

Love then HUGE list of restaurants. They deliver on time and the food is hot. Way better than 919dine that alway screws up my order even though there is only 1 restaurant for my area… weird too since I only live less than 5 min from downtown and all they have is chillies.

3 ½ stars — the jury is still out.
Raleigh Take Out gets this rating for now because we’ve only ordered twice and the first time we ordered everything was perfect! We ordered from The Remedy Diner and our food was delivered in literally 20 minutes and everything was spot on! They called us within 5 minutes of placing the order to let us know that the soup we requested wasn’t a deliverable option (per restaurant policy) — no worries, a side salad will be fine instead.
The second time we ordered (last night) it took about an hour and 20 minutes. We waited to order closer to when we actually wanted to eat given the first experience of a 20 min delivery… needless to say, by the time we received our food last night I’d already snacked on anything I could find in the house because I was STARVING. Since the website did say the wait time is typically one hour, we didn’t call to inquire until it was 10 past the hour. They were extremely apologetic and said it was taking the restaurant longer than usual to process orders and credited us the $ 4.99 delivery charge. The driver arrived very soon after the call. Everything was delicious and hot — so we know he truly just left the restaurant and the food had recently been prepared. It was frustrating, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email today once again apologizing for our experience. They stated they were 2 drivers short last night making for an atypical ‘take out’ experience… last night they said it was the restaurant, today they said it was the lack of drivers… hmm. At any rate, they are giving us a $ 10 credit to use on our next order, which makes us very happy.
All in all, this is a great service that offers take out from a variety of great restaurants. My recommendation/​wish would be — when you order online you would see a real time or near real time delivery estimation prior to placing your order. Currently it always says «delivery time averages an hour but this is only an estimate, please allow extra time for holidays, bad weather, events, etc». It would be great if it would say «current wait time is x». I know it still wouldn’t be a gaurantee, but at least I could make the call as to whether I want to wait x amount of time before placing the order…
We will give it another shot — I post an update once we have more experiences under our belt.

Where do I start? Worst experience ever. Ordered $ 50 worth of food from mellow mushroom. Got an hour quote for delivery. At an hour and 20 minutes, we called and they said «I’m sorry, we didn’t have a driver for your delivery so we just sent someone to go get it, I probably should have called.» Yes, you should have. After an hour and 45 minutes, I call again. They called their driver to see where he was. I believe it was Josh who was speaking with me, but he was very short and not particularly apologetic. I would’ve settled for a sincere «I’m really sorry, this will never happen again.» Anyway, after an hour and 50 minutes our driver finally gets here (I believe it was Nathan, he was great), we pay him, we FINALLY start to open the food, only to realize it is all sorts of wrong. I’ve never actually written a bad review on anyone but my experience with Raleigh takeout was just unreal. Never ever again will I use them.

I don’t order delivery that often but, when I do, I like to have everything included in my order.
Now, I love the convenience and selection of restaurants that Raleigh Takeout offers. I just don’t like the lack of attention to detail. In the past several months, I’ve ordered online three times. Each time, we’ve included a special request with the order (either for utensils, a side of sour cream, salad dressing, etc). In all three orders, the items we had requested were missing. In fact, each time, I ordered some type of salad with the order and I’ve never actually received the salad dressing I ordered (or the additional one I requested).
I haven’t had any problems with timeliness. They always seem to appear about an hour after I have ordered (which is what they usually tell me it will take). But, I just don’t like being disappointed by the lack of salad dressing/​sour cream/​maple syrup or utensils that are missing with my order.
Raleigh Takeout, please pay attention to my special requests (and my condiments)…

I have to change my rating.
I have had problems before, but recently I have gotten my food fresh and in a decent amount of time considering I have ordered from a dine-​in restaurant and I live across town.
I ordered from Shaba Shabu, 4 times now. They are located in NE Raleigh and I lean more to the SW side of Raleigh, I basically couldn’t be any farther and still delivered to.
The food was fresh, and still hot! I was surprised. Maybe it is speaking more of the restaurant? or maybe a restructuring of their business? I’m not sure really, I know they have changed it a little. And so far I am a happy customer!!!
people should keep in mind that the wait is consistently 45 min+ but it has been worth it!!!

I have ordered several times from Raleigh Takeout. They make check out pretty easy but the first order I placed arrived wrong. I called them and they refunded part of my money because I ended up being overcharged since I didn’t get everything I ordered. The second time I ordered with them I ordered Subway which apparently was stored with the warm food because when my sandwich arrived it was warmy and soggy. If I had time to go get my own lunch daily I would, using Raleigh Takeout seemed like a great idea but not when they can’t get a simple order right.

Received incredibly disappointing food from Raleigh Takeout. When I called to tell them that the sushi I received was not edible, they told me that it wasn’t their problem and gave me the number to the restaurant. While I understand that they didn’t make the food, they featured it on their website and charged me a premium to deliver it. In offering a restaurant’s menu to customers, they are implying that they’ve vetted the food and stand by it. They should have some accountability for the quality, but they don’t. They don’t have to care that they’re delivering terrible food, but since they don’t, I won’t be using them for any orders in the future.

Called me two minutes after I placed my order online. They pointed out that I could save some money by switching one of my choices.

Raleigh Take Out Delivers!

Well first let me say, since this is a new business I hope that the owners take the criticism as constructive and improve the services.
The first time I ordered the deliver person dropped a part of my order. it was messy but still edible. most of the chips hit the concrete.
The second time they dropped food but it was snacks.
The third time they didn’t bring all the food. they gave me a discount coupon but three times is enough for me.
I will wait until I see a 4 star rating here before I try again.

I have to admit I use Raleigh Take out quite often, because I live near downtown, and there is only one other food delivery service (that delivers from places that do not deliver), and tried them, and it is pretty much the same thing. However, Most of the time they forget something in our order, and don’t bother making a special request when you «Customize» your selection, it has always been ignored. The delivery drivers look out of it, and sometimes scary, and they do not care about punctuality, or bother to call you and tell you when the restaurant is out of something that you requested. Most of the time my food is bordering on being cold, but that varies by what restaurant you choose to order from, some arrive better than others. Also, I wouldn’t advise ordering from the more expensive restaurants on there, etc. The Mint, the food is expensive, but nowhere near the quality and temperature it would be if you just went there and ate. Also, like previously posted, there are restaurants on the list that already deliver for free, so check that before ordering also. Every once in a while, your food will be hot, everything you ordered is in place, driver is friendly, and on time, but the this the exception. I use this service as a last resort for convenience sake.

I’d have to agree with most of the reviews here, I’ve used Raleigh Takeout a bunch of times for working lunches (Mellow Mushroom, Baja Burrito, Bear Rock Café) and they are consistently tardy. Pluses for Raleigh Takeout: They’ve got a bunch of restaurant options including some that don’t deliver so you’ve got some flexibility there. And while their website looks sorta wonky, it’s actually works for what you need it to do.
But in the end, if you’re delivering you’ve got to be on time and that’s where Raleigh Takeout falls flat on its face. When you order, you submit a delivery time but I can’t remember once when they’ve been on time. I’ve even asked for a delivery time 20 minutes early to compensate and they still end up pretty late! Nothing worse than having 6 or 7 colleagues starving and giving you evil eyes at a meeting! And if it’s late, the food is gonna be cold…
What’s funny is that even if I’m annoyed, I still end up giving a decent tip. Not sure why, but it’s hard for me to get too angry at our usual, stoner delivery dude who probably isn’t keenly aware of punctuality. Let’s just say that in a pinch, Raleigh Takeout is an ok option. But if you want the food on-​time and hot, you’re better off getting in your car and doing it yourself!

Raleigh Take-​Out is a delivery service that offers a selection from several local restaurants in all different categories from steak house to pizza joints. You place an order either via phone or web and they go and pick it up, and then deliver it to your house.
The good things about this service are that some of the restaurants don’t offer delivery, and it can be a pain in the neck to go out and pick up take-​out especially when you’re feeling lazy. Another good thing is that they will deliver alcohol (beers, wines, even champagne) as well as cigarettes to your house with your food.
The only complaint I have with Raleigh Take-​Out is that some of the restaurants on the menu offer delivery themselves, without the small fee that Raleigh Take-​Out charges. It seems bizarre that anyone would have a service go pick up their Pizza from Champion’s instead of actually going and ordering delivery for themselves, especially when they’d save five dollars in the process.
All in all, this is a handy service if you’re lazy, rich or both. It’s not a service I make use of often, however.
