PROS: The apartment complex is convenient to shopping and a lot of restaurants. They have great maintenance staff and they are quick to fix issues. CONS: Trash — You get to pay $ 10 each month to put trash in your car and drive it to the ONLY trash area on the property! This place needs to have three different sites. Figuring out the recycle bins… it will say ‘No plastic bags’ but you need to lift each lid to find out what actually goes into one of the 15 bins. Pest control… you get to pay $ 5 for this service. But, you have to ask for it. It is not automatic. Alarm… you get to pay $ 15 for this service whether you use it or not. A lot of dog feces around the complex. Some pet owners don’t pick up after their dog. The complex should have more dog waste stations throughout. You have to walk quite a ways to drop off the waste which may be some of the issue of why people just don’t bother to clean up after their pets. Ask the RIGHT questions before you move in…

I’ve been living at The Preserve for 2.5 years, and I haven’t had any major problems. Everything about this place is adequate. My apartment is fine, the grounds are nice, and the staff is generally helpful. Maintenance requests are completed quickly, and I like that they leave a sheet of paper telling me what they did. The location is great, and I love that I can just walk across the street(carefully — lots of traffic!), and despite being so close to RDU, I never hear planes. My biggest complaint is about the mail at The Preserve. I have had several letters to other residents put in my box, and I never received a package that was supposedly delivered. I almost never receive package notices, so the only way I know if it has been delivered is by checking the tracking info. Finally, they need to work on how they handle snow and ice. Every year, snow falls and turns to ice on all of the sidewalks and outside stairways. I’ve never fallen, but it gets pretty slippery. Every year I tell the office to put down salt or scrape the snow, and it doesn’t happen. Finally they put some salt down this year, but that was a few days after the ice formed and only after I complained.

In December 2014 my girlfriend and I were planning on moving to The Preserve at Brier Creek. Two weeks before we were supposed to arrive, she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and we could not re-located. The Preserve refused to re-rent the unit we were supposed to have, and kept us on the hook for 2 months rent while purposely leaving the apartment empty. In addition, they are now demanding an additional 2 months of rent as a penalty on us. My girlfriend is very ill and undergoing treatment for her stage 4 cancer, and money is extremely tight. This is the worst time of our lives, and The Preserve is shamelessly pursuing us to give them over $ 4000 for an apartment we have never even set foot into.

We have had Nothing but an excellent experience with this complex. My husband and roommate were in here first because I was away in another state. I came back was easily added to the lease. This is our second year here and about to sign another lease. The deposit for us is reasonable because it will just be he and I on the lease. The roommate has since moved out. The rent is very reasonable for the area and your water is calculated monthly within your rent so it’s always different but never outrageous. Very convenient it comes right from your account so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to pay your rent. The pet deposit is $ 300 and only additional $ 10 a month. That is excellent for a pet, and there are No dog Breed restrictions. Baggies around the complex for dogs while you walk them, and a Nice dog run by the tennis courts. We have Nothing bad to say about this complex. The office staff is great, very friendly and any concerns they address them. A great place to live and call home.

Preserve at Brier Creek is a prestige looking place to make home, the first thing that actually drew my attention was the entrance, cleanliness and my most favorite part of the complex is the pool area, which appears like a resort set up. Also, they have plenty of room inside of each apartment and the price is actually reasonable, depending on the time of year in which you choose to move in. The staff is very professional and complaints are answered in a comfortable amount of time depending on the issue, they often prioritize certain issues and if you find something to be very important such as power washing the staircase or etc. then it is not considered a high priority, otherwise, leaks, power outages and AC problems would get handled fairly quickly. I also commend them on keeping the property very clean and tidy and always keeping up with the maintenance of the property as a whole. It is surely a safe environment for family and all the shopping plazas is within walking distance. Another plus for the company is that there is a complaint line for residents(which I rarely used), and even better it’s always a live person to speak with, whom will move on every tenant behalf to resolve a matter with any staff of the property immediately if you as the resident feel that your issue(s) aren’t being handled effectively. This is surely a place where anyone can call home! You get the bang for your buck. Welcome home.

I began apartment searching 2 months before I had to move. I found this apartment and worked with Gabby. I wasn’t ready to move but with their current special of that month free, $ 300 off the next month, low deposit and even pet friendly to my German Shepherd I decided to move in! I was very picky and required a 1 bedroom and first floor. I didn’t want to face the parking lot so it was difficult with so many requirements of mine. The entire process and maintenance requests after moving in has been nothing but the best.

Do NOT move into any community that is owned by MAA. The rent payments are never correct or properly auto drafted. The office staff is rude and rolls their eyes at you when you ask even a simple question. This place is a sham and a huge waste of your money. DONOTMOVEINHERE. Side Note: I’m contacting my lawyer regarding their billing services. That’s how bad it is. Instead of the manager trying to fix the situation, he ended up charging us MORE than what was listed on our online balance. Absolutely ridiculous.
