Trapper Dan’s Wildlife & Pest

If you pay him for a job, he will take your money, do the bare minimum, and never return to complete the job. Go with anyone, ANYONE else. I cannot stress this enough. He is a rip off. Ask your local animal control if they have traps you can use instead of this guy.

I’ve not the time nor desire to detail my long, exasperating experience with this deceitful man. Rest assured, the other complaints are spot on. If you hire him for even the simplest job, he will not complete it and he will steal your money. If I could give him less than a star, I certainly would. If you’re in need of some one to handle a pest issue, please, go with someone, ANYONE more reputable than Dan.

They told us we had bats in the attic and painted us a horrible scenario of how we all were going to die if we did not take care of them. We paid upfront. All they did was to put a net on the vent (for $ 400). Their quote was based on the size of the ladder they were going to use (?). They were supposed to return to close another vent and clean up. They cashed the check and we never saw them again. By reading the other posts, looks like this is how they operate. I am going to contact the BBB and the NC Attorney General’s Consumer Protection office and file a claim.

We used Trapper Dan in July 2011 to do screens on gables and clean up after bats. His service was okay, however, the screen on one of the gables was not properly installed and coming loose. This job comes with a warranty of 5 years, SURE, try to get the repair done. We called and, eft several messages in January this year, he finally came to the house. Once he looked at the issue we were told that his man didn’t staple it well and he would come back to repair but needed his tall ladder. It is now, middle of May… nothing!!! He will not call us nor respond to our emails. Do not even think about using him. Quick to take money but will not stand behind work.

I live in Fuquay Varina and we used Dan. Do look at these reviews on this guy, I wish I had. I got the big scare story of how bad the bats were in our attic and how much clean up it was going to be. His price sounded reasonable to go with the big scare story. But when it came time to clean us it appears that the bats weren’t actually in the attic just on the gable. When asked to get the refund he told us several time the check was on the way and to this day still haven’t received. (3 months later) He doesn’t answer phone messages that you leave. His mail box is always full. When he sealed off the vents he did a TERRIBLE job used cheap insulation foam around edge where it is oozing out the sides and never trimmed or sealed off. He charged us $ 800 and we paid him before the sealing happened thinking and trusting him to come back and complete properly. I have photos and will post on some of the other sites. If I get one person to read this and NOT use him then who needs a refund that I’ll never get. His website is a bunch of BS as far as him being honest on a handshake. I hope he reads this and will do the right thing with the next person.

I am very disappointed in the service we have received from Trapper Dan. We had a possum under the house and contacted Trapper Dan on December 10. We paid up front for a trap and were told that someone would be coming to the house to check the trap every few days. After they were through trapping the possum they were supposed to fix the vent where the animal accessed the house and treat for fleas. We were instructed to leave our crawlspace open so his agents could access the house. It is now Feb 21 and the trap is still under our house. We have had one slip from Trapper Dan saying the trap was checked. We were never updated on the status of the trap. After contacting him several times we were told the they had 1 possum. We never heard from them after that. My husband left several voicemails and e-​mails with the company. Each time we make a complaint Trapper Dan responds he will be out the next day. I have yet to see him. I would highly recommend against using this service.
