Tutu School Raleigh provides a creative dance and movement education experience for children. The founding principle of Tutu School is that every child should know what it feels like to dance to the strains of Tchaikovsky and Bach. That motor skill development is infinitely enhanced by moving like a bunny rabbit, a dolphin, or a horse, and that young imaginations benefit immensely from exploring the enchanted worlds of swans and sugarplums, or firebirds and fairies.

Tutu School offers classes for children 18 months to 8 years old, as well as Ballet Birthday Parties, and Tutu Camp!

Meet the Business Owner

Lara O.

Business Owner

Lara has grown up in the world of ballet and has a deep appreciation for the creative expression of dancing. She trained for 11 years on scholarships in Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia and Copenhagen.

Today, with 14 years of professional experience, she holds the rank of Principal Dancer at Carolina Ballet and has performed leading roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and countless others all around the country and as far away as Europe and Asia.

Interacting with young children in many productions over those years, Lara has had a profound impact on many children’s first experience’s with ballet. She deeply cares for the growing community and what the Arts provide those of all ages.

Opening Tutu School Raleigh is an extension of that commitment and she’s thrilled by the opportunity to celebrate and pass on the joy, magic and whimsy of ballet to little dancers while still performing all around the Triangle.
