History

Established in 2008.

Sara Fancy founder and director of SHHR started this business after accumulating seven rescue horses while managing an Equine therapy ranch in Topanga called El Dustberry. Sara worked at ED for seven years gaining experience in all areas of horsemanship ranging from holistic horse care to facilitating horse sessions for cancer patients. Since 2008 Sara has been successfully running educational and therapeutic programs for children and adults. This year, 2014, SHHR has relocated to a new place called Manzanita Village near Warner Springs in San Diego County where the focus is on transformational horse healing retreats, workshops and intensives for adults.

Sara Fancy originally from UK, has a background in Energy Medicine, Cranial Sacral Unwinding and Family Systemic Constellation therapy. She started working with horses later in life. Sara has created her own type of equine therapy by integrating her knowledge of the healing arts with her skills in understanding and knowing horses. She facilitates programs such as Rapport with Horses and Horse Constellations (Family/​Systemic Constellations) and runs a Horse Mentorship program. Sara is a contributing author to the book, Returning to Membership in Earth Community and is currently producing a book about the healing work that takes place at the ranch, narrated by the horses.

Powerful and healing experience —
I came to Sara Fancy and Silver Horse Retreat in crisis. After completing the half mentorship with Sara, as well as a weekend group constellations, I was out of crisis. In one week, I was able to resolve anger and come to a place of clarity, forgiveness, and peace. I chose to work with Sara because of her work in with Astrology, Constellations and animals. All three of which she proved to be very competent in. Sara’s work is deep and for me, reached far back into ancestral wounds and healed them. Sara also taught me a new way of relating to the earth and to the animals on it. Her respect for her animals is awe inspiring and worth observing.
Working with Sara is intense and you get out of it what you put in. If you are ready to make some changes and are ready to work, Sara can and will help you meet your goals.

What a tremendous offering Sara and her herd have at Manzanita VIllage! I just spent 2 days with Sara and the herd and feel so deeply grounded, nourished, and invigorated by the deep healing morse medicine I received. Sara is an absolute professional and so generously shares her vast knowledge and experience with all horses, animals, and multiple modalities of deep healing work. Sara met me right where I was and is always ready and willing to adapt based on what comes up in the moment. Sara really has an exceptional capacity to listen for what is REALLY going on with great compassion and clarity. It put me at ease to feel how she truly partners with her horses and honors them as the highest form of authentic Truth. Sara creates a very safe environment without harping on it in a way that creates more fear. She got me feeling totally comfortable up on Jackie and we went for my first bare-​back trail ride through the breathtaking trails surrounding the village. We also spent hours with the horses in the round pen, soaking up their teachings and doing family constellations work and other somatic exercises.
Sara whipped up 3 delicious organic vegetarian meals and the accommodations at the retreat center are cozy and comfortable.
I wished I lived on this side of the country because I would be down there as often as possible!
I highly recommend a visit to Sara and her Herd to anyone who is looking to follow a wild horse calling or for deep equine healing and learning.

Sara’s work is extremely powerful. I was led to her by a close friend who told me little about her, but because I trusted my friend’s opinion so sincerely I followed through and made a point to work with her as soon as I was able to. I am so happy I did! The process has only recently begun and I’m infinitely grateful for the profound shifts in my personal awareness. I have been freed of much energy I was carrying around that blocked my authentic self… So glad I can move forward in my journey more wholly now that I’ve reclaimed what was lost. Sara is an intuitive, caring and worldly healer. Her horses are distinctly intuitive and have incredible capacities for contributing to the healing process throughout the constellation process. I would recommend her work to anyone. Please don’t delay.

Just visited Sara Fancy at the new location for SilverHorse Healing Ranch — and it was amazing. I live in LA –the drive was easy with beautiful scenery — and is just far enough out of town to make it seem like a special trip. Once you get there, the peace and quiet allows such serenity and contemplation. A day at the ranch becomes quite simply that — a day at the ranch — no lingering thoughts about «getting to Whole Foods» or worries about traffic on the 101 — Instead the experience became about what I wanted it to be. I stayed overnight — and I recommend that. You get the full force of nature — 24 hour cycle. Giant star-​lit sky, beautiful land, animals — and a real chance to focus on what you came for. Healing at it’s best!

Deep grief of the loss of my father, dog (Goldie), getting divorced and letting go of my Dojo brought me to Sara. I was trying to connect to my father and his spirit so I was attracted to horses since he rode and had them while growing up in Greece.
I am forever indebted to Sara, the horses (Laydee, Diva, Silver, Jackie, Ruby, Hank Pretty Boy as well as her precious dogs (Zorro (rip), Roxy and Minnie for their healing, profound insight and guidance. I was first introduced to Sara who owns and operates SHHR by a friend who thought we might be a good fit. Little did I know how profound her suggestion would eventually be.
My love of horses was first introduced to me by my father at a very early age. That love and eventual kinship with these remarkable animals has not only stayed with me through the years but has grown stronger as I get older.
Sara and I talked on the phone first and it was fairly evident from the get go that this woman was not your typical horse person. For me, I simply wanted to be around horses and kids and was seeking the right place to volunteer.
We spoke.
We met.
Ive been there for 3 years now.
This woman has a remarkable insight into human nature and well, horse nature. She offers guidance, support, and helps you become a better human being. Period.
She literally partners with these magnificent beings to release you from the binds that hold you back.
If that is something you seek, then by all means I cannot recommend Sara and the way she works with the horses for your benefit any stronger.
To some this may be or sound a bit… shall we say — airy fairy– but for me, and for countless others as you can clearly read in past reviews, she and her horses open doors that have remained shut sometimes for centuries.
It’s amazing what doors open for you if you simply give it a chance and opportunity without preconceived prejudeces.
Her horse camp for kids creates an environment of love and trust with the horses. She teaches them how to communicate with them, how to behave around them, how to understand what they are trying to tell us and how we can grow to become better human beings because of them.
To me, this is an education on par with societies academic educations and for some of these children, even more important.
Is this for you? Only you know the answer to that question. But what I know is this: Sara and her horses, Hank, Ruby, Diva, Ladie, Jackie, Pretty Boy, and the name sake Silver are a remarkable team and I for one cannot recommend them enough!
Oh, by the way, because of her remarkable ability to heal wounds deeply engraved, I met the woman of my dreams not long after my constellation with Sara. We married which was something I never ever thought I would have the joy and pleasure of knowing!

I was fortunate to attend the 3 day Shamanic Workshop with Sara and her magical team of four-​legged healers (thanks especially to Silver and Hank). Sara has an innate ability to create a safe and sacred space in which one can venture deeply into both pain and joy.
Sara facilitates each phase of the workshop with integrity, responsibility and flexibility. Her intuition, creativity and deep partnership with the Horses made this weekend a one-​of-​a-​kind experience that was truly enlightening and transformational.

This place is magical.
I heard of Sara/​Silver Horse through a friend and my husband bought me several sessions last Christmas. I started off doing the Rapport work which is wonderful.
The idea is that by being in the round pen with a horse you can learn a lot about yourself: Are you being in the present moment? Do you come into situations with expectations or attachments? Do you live in the past (or future)? Are you overly fearful? Are you grounded and in your body?
I’ve come to understand that horses live in the present moment and seek balance and authenticity (for survival). Interacting with them really requires you to be authentic in who you are. It was eye-​opening to see what came up for me but I felt supported and safe. There is something so special about doing this work with these horses because they are voluntarily participating with you and clearly enjoy doing it. I love her horses so much!
I also attended a Constellation workshop with Sara and 3 other women over one weekend and it totally blew me away. Not only to see my own Constellation done –but to participate in the other women’s was just as powerful and fascinating.
We even brought my in-​laws when they visited to each try Horse Rapport (one, who was utterly fearful of horses!) and they loved the experience, it was a total highlight of their trip.
Sara is empathic and good at tuning into you, intuitive, non-​judgmental, clear and no-​nonsense. She’s so dedicated and passionate about this work and respectful of the horses, not just the humans.
If you’re looking to grow in understanding of yourself, heal things, resolve emotions — this is such a special & unique place in nature to do so. Enjoy!

I finally visited the Silver Horse Healing Ranch!!!
Prior to driving to the location Sarah was thoughtful enough to send detailed
directions, I was amazed how precise it was! She is VERY welcoming and
knowledgeable in her craft!
I’ve done SEVERAL Constellations over the years with different people in
a number of locations BUT she has her personal touch that makes the whole experience beyond AMAZING! I highly recommend her!
During the few hours at the Ranch I forgot I was in Los Angeles… it was indeed
a renewing experience that we ALL need considering our busy lives. I can not
wait to go back!

I have been curious about connecting to the horses in understanding that they have healing for us and a chain of events then led me to the amazing Sara and her magical ranch. Sara is a gifted facilitator and stated exactly what I have been feeling for years.
As a healing practitioner myself, and experiencing so many different types of modalities over the years, I was amazed at how powerful just one session can be!
I had a constellation and it was a memorable experience which validated, affirmed and helped me to get back into alignment with my life purpose and business. This was HUGE for me and all the people I can be of support for in a bigger way.
I felt safe and cared for by Sara, the horses and the other participants and also received healings as a «rep» in being a part of other people’s «constellation» sessions.
I miss Diva (the horse I worked with) already and will be back for more!
The ranch is situated in the beautiful Topanga Canyon where I felt like I was at a getaway so connected to nature just minutes from the LA hustle and bustle. I feel at such peace today deep in my body as a result and have a renewed passion for my business.
I was amazed as it was the first time I have been in contact with horses and I felt so comfie with them. They are something special to be around.

I heard about Constellation therapy in 2008 while traveling out of the country. Sara’s Ranch came up while internet searching. WOW, amazing results in one constellation, not only from my own constellation did I feel major structures within myself open up to healing, but even by being a representative for others did I feel movement in my life. The beauty of this work for me is that life long ineffective coping mechanisms were revealed for maturation (in one session) something that would have taken years of traditional therapy. Sara is the real deal and I feel soooo fortunate to have found her.

My daughter has been taking natural horse classes at Silver Horse Healing Ranch for over 2 years. She continues to love her time on the ranch and the classes just keep on getting better. My daughter has earned about the anatomy of horses, the kinds/​breeds of horses, how to gently train/​guide a horse, the hierarchy of horse herds, how to find an authentic relationship with horses, how to attract horses, how to lead a horse by energy, how to connect with horses on a respectful level, and so much more. The ranch is an incredibly healing place. At one point, we were considering stopping lessons because our car was breaking down and when we missed a few classes, we both really missed our time on the ranch. It is so peaceful there. I highly recommend Silver Horse Healing Ranch. I also know this is a wonderful place for children and adults who may have developed a fear or have had traumatic experiences with animals — because this is a place of healing. I have seen children who were terrified of horse because of a traumatic experience with a horse let go of their fears in an incredibly peaceful way.
