This place is a total scam. I had already taken gold coins of mine to another place to get appraised. That place offered me $ 1,200. I wanted to get 2 other offers before feeling comfortable enough to sell my gold coins. This was the 2nd place I stopped. Shelly was the one that helped me and she was nice, I’ll say that much. After 3.5 hours(keep in mind I only had 6 coins) she offered me $ 485 and said«I was really lucky» to have such valuable coins. That’s when I dropped the bomb that I had been offered $ 1,200 elsewhere and she said goldmax guarantees 100% they have the highest offer around… clearly that wasn’t true in this instance. Even after I told Shelly I was going to take my coins elsewhere, she kept asking me «What will it take for you to sell these to me?» Ummm hello! It will take ATLEAST the $ 1,200 I was offered elsewhere, I’m not an idiot. She kept saying she can’t give me $ 1,200, but«what would it take for me to sell my coins to her?» It got very old, very fast. So after 3.5 hours, I left. I took my coins to a coin collector down in Pacific Beach and he offered me $ 1,300 for my coins, which I sold to him. Goldmax is a freaking rip off and you’ll spend all day in there. Save your time and get more money elsewhere.

I went into this branch a couple of weeks ago and had a bunch of costume jewelry and some old pieces, I didn’t think I was going to get much for what I walked in with, but Jessica was SO helpful and I was able to walk out with a nice check. It was a great experience all around!
