They rented us pistols and an AR for only $ 12 each. The price is very reasonable but i just don’t like how we have to wait every 5 minutes for 10minutes for cease fire. It makes going with a party hard. The workers there were all friendly and seem knowledgable about firearms and how to handle properly.

Nice place, and very nice, helpful staff who don’t make you feel like an idiot. We went to use the shooting range with some of our family visiting from Canada, where it’s very difficult to own a gun. They had lots of questions and the staff there were very helpful and didn’t make you feel stupid when you had questions. Would definitely recommend them. Can’t even believe that Alex N. is talking about the same place! (Altho there is no such thing about being anal about safety. . simply can’t BE too safe!)

This is my favorite shooting range. The range masters are polite. The range is well-​maintained and operated in a safe manner. We’ve tried the pistol and trap shooting ranges and really enjoyed ourselves here.
I have a range close by but I prefer to drive a bit to CSC because the range masters are so polite here.
The store is well-​stocked with ammo and firearms. I bought a «difficult to find» pistol here and had zero problems with the transaction.
I highly-​recommend Cordova Shooting Center.

This is the range i went to with my friend for my first time shooting. He choose to take me to this place simply because it was the least busiest on a Saturday. It being my first time, and being new to guns i choose to shoot primarily my friends .22 rifle. The range is a bit anal when it comes to safety compared to other ranges, but i still could understand why some would be very strict with guns, guns after all arent the most people friendly things. However after i got comfortable with his .22 rifle and ar 15, i started shooting the .22 a bit fast, maybe one shot a second downrange, the range manager came up to me and screamed at me: «were you the one rapid firing going bang bang bang?» I didnt know what rapid firing was but with his «bang bang» expression i figured it was shooting fast, so i said yes. He pointed to a sign on a post that said no rapid firing and hollered: «what does it say?» I said «no rapid firing.» Then the screamed «thats right, do it one more time and ill kick you out!»
My friend got upset and after talking with him he came up to me and said that he meant nothing personal and that it was my responsibility as a gunowner (which im not) to read the rules prior to coming to a range.
I understand strict rules, but anger, hotheadedness and such rudeness coming from staff is not only unnecessary and inappropriate, but in an environment full of deadly weapons it can be dangerous. Im a very calm person, but what if that manager screamed at some disturbed individual? Being angry at strangers in an environment full of weapons is very reckless! Anger and guns dont mix, and i would expect the owner to hire more professional and cool headed staff to manage a range where people come to shoot their death machines. If i was the owner i would never in a million years hire a guy who would scream at my customers while they shoot their guns. Its insane.
There are other better gun ranges for the same price, i would recommend steering clear of this place unless your willing to be screamed at

Great shooting range! It is a pretty far drive but definitely worth it and for good prices if you want to skate or shoot at the smaller gun range! The staff is very nice and very helpful! Definitely recommend this place if you are just beginning shooting because the ranges are very simple and the range attendants are very nice and helpful!

Basic Handgun Training Class:
I attended the class with a friend. I had never shot a handgun or considered owning one. The class included instructors with decades of experience, videos, and hands on practice with two different types of handguns. We learned about the different types of handguns, shooting terms and cleaning in the classroom. We experienced safety, stance, loading and firing revolvers and autoloaders on the range. The instructor ration was great and I received lots of assistance. They supplied all of the equipment and ammo for the range training.
I learned I have very weak hands. I also think a second class would benefit me because everything was new. I’ll be signing up for another so that I am more comfortable with the terms, safety and experience before considering buying a handgun.

I love how close this range is to my house, I have been year a few times in prior years but this was the best experience out of them all. It was my birthday on Monday so my gf and I decided to shoot our brand new 92 series beretta. We bought our ammo and ear plugs here which with the range fees cost about $ 75. Not overly pricey considering we spent over an hour here. What made it great is the range instructor gave us some great tips and intermittent training on how to improve our shooting. After each tutorial we noticed an immediate improvement with where we were hitting the target. Cannot wait to come back here! Might even have to rent one of the semi automatic rifles they have.

Such a fun, professional, safe, outdoor range. The range attendant was beyond helpful with giving me some pointers as I am still getting used to handling my Baretta. I would highly recommend coming here but suggest bringing your own eyewear. Also since it is outside coming earlier or later in the day is best in the heart of summer.

In a nutshell, I like this place and will be reviewing the pistol/​rifle portion.
I have been coming here at the recommendation of my friend.
You start out signing in at the little trailer right next to the skeet range. Pay the range fees alongside the California tree hippie tax ($ 12 + $ 5 = $ 17) and you’re good to go. You’ll then head to the range and they check all your firearms. If you rented one of their firearms, someone from the trailer will bring it there.
The staff is generally nice and they go and look out for you. I remember getting scared over a light primer strike thinking it was a squib and the RO on duty reassured me that it was ok. So I am convinced that they’re trained and all know their stuff. They’re also vets so that’s really awesome (thank you for your service: D)
One thing that stands out at this range is that they have a .50 BMG rifle (Barrett M82A1) which you can shoot 3 rounds for $ 30 under RO supervision. A lot of fun watching other people shoot it.
I shot at the pistol range and it does it’s job alongside the rifle range. Both ranges are generally clean and have a ceasefire for changing targets.
Unlike The Gun Range, which spoiled me, they don’t allow rapid fire. So i can’t practice doubletaps. Still, the place is an awesome outdoor range nonetheless.
Also forgot to mention that it gets very crowded here on the weekends.

You will not find a better selection of 1911’s anywhere in Northern California (and probably Southern California). The staff is friendly, knowledgable, helpful and quick to assist and answer questions. Prices are fair (and the sale prices are fantastic). Don’t let the trailer fool you — if you’re looking for a 1911 that is on the «roster», these guys probably have it. If you’re looking for another type of handgun that is on the «roster» (or a black rifle), they probably have it — just ask the staff or look at their email list. If they don’t have it, they can get it. Simply put, this is my favorite shop to purchase at in the Sacramento area and quite the local gem.
As for the range itself, the shotgun range is enjoyable and more than decent. However, while the rifle/​pistol range gets the job done, it is starting to show its age and in need of renovation. Nevertheless, the ranges have good management and the rules are safe, but not overbearing. I highly recommend Cordova Shooting Center, especially if you are looking to buy a firearm.

I made an appointment for a one-​on-​one shotgun instruction. I talked to Liz and she sized me up for a 20 gauge. I paid for the one-​on-​one instruction, the rental of the shotgun, box of bullets and everything had a price tag. I thought she was a great instructor. Her experience and knowledge was very apparent and helpful.
For someone new to shotguns, it was good to have instruction from Liz but aside from the 20 gauge I rented, there’s other types of shotguns and other gauges that I would have liked to experience. just to try out. without having to rent each one.

Wanted to let everyone know about the CCW class here. I had a great time and found Hall and Preston a wealth of knowledge. I certainly learned a lot. Great value.
I read a few reviews talking about the condition of this place and while it’s not the most updated it offers a safe place to send some lead down range. The Staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions and if the range masters are stern it’s because your probably doing something wrong.
I had such a great time I am going to buy a membership.

Don’t believe the hype, this place is great! I have read some negative reviews about this place, but I had to see for my self and let me tell you great group of guys over here. I took my ccw class here and I’ll definitely be back for my renewal.

Range review
The staff is a good group of guys who are very helpful to both new and experienced shooters. The range fee is only $ 17.
Because rifle cases are not allowed, you must walk from your car to the check-​in gate with your rifle (s) in hand. If you have a single or double rifle case fully packed, be prepared to leave it in your vehicle and transport all of your range gear separately.
10-​minute shooting sessions go very fast when you factor in shooting for accuracy, using optics to see your results, and loading magazines. If you’ve been to a range that has 15+ minute shooting sessions, you’ll quickly notice a difference.
It is very inconvenient to transport rifles without a case. All firearms are safety checked by staff prior to entering the range, so why not allow customers to place their rifles back into their cases and enter?
I will not return simply because of the range rules.

Went to this range with three friends yesterday and my initial thought was it was gonna be a shooting range… but this place Fucking sucks… the range old fucker talks thrash to you none stop almost lost my cool on him hes rude and disrespectful.
I have been to all the ranges in Sacramento but this one is really the worst even worse than the gun room,
Every 5 minutes they stop you and you cant touch your guns, then all the brass flies at you from the other shooters in your face, you cant even bring your case with you in there WTF is that…

Nothing wrong with this place, but unless you only want to shoot one type of gun, or if you absolutely must shoot your rifle long range, then The Gun Range in North Highlands is much more convenient and rewarding experience.
Now, I’m new to outdoor range shooting, I’ve done indoor ranges aplenty and I’ve done BLM shooting. This is like a mixture of both without the convenience of the indoor range and without as much fun as BLM shooting. Now this may not be specific to CSC, it may be for all outdoor ranges.
I wish there was a way they could make the pistol stalls good for firing rifles too. Doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult. Move the backstops back and just install rafters at set distances where shooters can hang their targets. I’m guessing the distance to the backstop is why they only allow rifles on the other stalls…
When we did decide to transition over to rifle, we had to wait quite a while (more on that in a bit). When did get over to a rifle stall/​lane, the only ones open were fairly far back. Our ARs currently have iron sights and red dots, no magnification. We had to use the scope on my Henry Lever Action 22 as a spotting scope for the ARs. Also, for some odd reason, when we switched over to rifles they seemed to stop calling cease fire regularly.
Overall, it’s not a bad facility, sure it’s no state of the art indoor range, but it’s a shooting range. There’s just nothing about it that makes me want to choose it over The Gun Range or even The Gun Room for my shooting needs.
Now regarding the waiting. I’m guessing it’s standard practice that you put up a new target for the next shooter when you’re done. That’s fine. But if they don’t call cease-​fire for 15 minutes then that could be a long time of you just standing there or sitting there waiting to you can leave.
The range safety officers/​guys weren’t the nicest or most approachable people. Not saying they were mean or rude, but they just weren’t very approachable. They were kind of like Big Brother, just sitting in their little guard tower box, never really engaging any customers unless they were doing something wrong. Which I guess is their job, but they could also be a bit more… human. lol
The gun store seemed like a nice little place. Ammo availability was quite good and guys working in there are much more approachable than the guys on the range.
Three stars, nothing special about this place and nothing horrible about it either. Since I’m out of Stockton, my top pick of ranges in the Sac area is still The Gun Range. Much better overall atmosphere, convenience of a high quality indoor range (targets on demand, high capacity ventilation system, more relaxed employees, etc).

The employees were friendly but the facility is quite run down.
We bought a case of ammo (250 shells) along with 10 coins to shoot 10 rounds of trap. Since I didn’t have my gun I also rented a 12 gauge shotgun for $ 15. The gun looked pretty worn and the rib was badly dented but it served its purpose.
Everything was going good until we were shooting the last round. There wasn’t enough clay targets in the machine so every time I pushed the button we lost a target. After loosing about 4 targets we told an employee who quickly filled the trap house. As we shot the last round we realized the machine was now stuck on 2 positions. We just continued shooting, but mentioned it to another employee as we left.
All in all it was a pretty decent day at the range.
