Hall’s Window Center

We wandered into the Halls showroom on a hunt for new front double doors with a modern look after being unable to find what we wanted at the big box construction stores. After describing the vertical ribbed glass panels we were after, they were able to find an exact match in a catalog, along with a floor sample of the dark espresso trim finish we desired. We ordered immediately and waited patiently for their arrival. We already had a contractor we have used many times before, lined up for the install. However, once the doors were here, our contractor had some issues installing the doors properly, so he replaced our original doors and said he would get back to it the following weekend. We had an upcoming event at our home, so we called Halls again, and asked if they could now be installed by their guys. We set a date, and in no time they were in and looking fabulous and functioning perfectly.
We really appreciated that they accommodated us and we’re willing to add the labor portion after the fact in order to have the job turn out both beautiful and right!

Hall’s did a great job for us. We purchased an Anderson sliding door from them. They installed it and finished the trim around the door on the outside of the house. It looks great and works great. We couldn’t be happier. And they saved us a lot of money as compared to quotes we got from big box stores. Thanks Hall’s. We will use you again and will refer you to others.

For a couple of years, our home on a windy, foggy hill in Mill Valley had windows that didn’t open, and doors that didn’t close. But we are cozy and weather-​tight now, thanks to the workmanship of the team at Hall’s Window Center. From the estimator, to the window measurer, to the office, to the install team, to the marketing director and even the owner, they are a class act. Good prices, great personal service, and high quality products and installation. They made our problems their own, worked as a team efficiently and with good humor, installed windows and doors that met our needs and budget, and the last I saw of the install team — who finished ahead of schedule on our stated day — they were working together to change the tire of a stranded motorist who happened to get a flat right down the road. We had the 1^st floor windows and doors replaced, and will use Hall’s again when we’re ready to do the bedrooms upstairs. A positive experience all around!

We don’t really know anything about remodeling, so we started at a home show, where we visited three window-​and-​door booths.
At one of them, which starts with an A, we were not able to make an appointment. They gave us a business card and invited us to spin a wheel for a % discount, but couldn’t set a time for an estimate without more effort on our part. So much for them.
At the second one, which also starts with an A, we WERE able to make an appointment. They showed up late, and although the guy was very nice, he spent 90 minutes trying to sell me windows. He talked about the windows, he brought a special case with a heat lamp to show us the UV filtering, he had lots of booklets with pictures of windows and doors. He finished his spiel, wrote up an estimate, and it was $ 56,000. I said thank you very much, we’ll be in touch.
At the Hall’s Window Center booth, we lucked out. We were able to make an appointment, the booth staff were knowledgable and efficient, and we got a confirmation beforehand. Keith came to the house, and he spent 45 minutes talking to us about OUR HOUSE and OUR VIEW. He basically didn’t even mention which kinds of windows we could choose from, until he knew what we were concerned about. When we said we wanted windows that open and doors that close, he gave us what I’m confident was the best combination of products for our situation. He didn’t try to convince us to move windows, to buy something wrong for our climate, or sell us his favorite products. He just listened to our concerns, made a recommendation, wrote up the estimate, and it was under $ 25,000. Sold!
The next step was, Nate came to the house to measure everything. That part of the work went smoothly — he arrived on time, they managed my expectations well, they didn’t uncover any surprises in that process that cost us more, and he was efficient and professional.
Then the day came for installation. We were told it would be a full day — 7am to 5pm — rain or shine. The team showed up soon after 7am. Steve, Keith (not the same one as the first Keith), Victor, and Eric were SO FAST, friendly, and very careful! I felt completely confident in their skills and their care of our home. They put down plastic inside, removed the old window coverings that we asked them to dispose of, and got to work immediately. In the hour it took me to get the kids to school and go to the market, they had removed 7 out of 8 windows and both doors, and had already started putting the new windows in place. They had the whole area closed up again by 11, before they broke for lunch. Then they focused on the sealing, shimming, leveling, and whatever other magic they had to do to get everything weather-​tight. That part took from 11:30 to about 2:30, then they did clean up and went on their way.
The one thing I noticed was, there were some wood screws, a few splinters, and some other small bits of construction debris that they missed in the cleanup, but it was not enough to call them back from Sacramento. The 5 minutes it took me to pick up that handful of stuff later was worth the 2 hours ahead of schedule they finished, which let me do the walk-​through before going to get the kids from school.
I was so impressed by the way our install went that I called Debbie in the home office — hers was the only number I had handy — to ask her what kind of review process they had for satisfied customers. Within a few hours, I had been called by both Mario in Marketing, AND Jim the owner! Hi, Jim and Mario! Thanks again for all you do for the satisfaction of your customers. :-)

So far not so good. The installers were wonderful. They came in, got the job done, were clean, and fast. They forgot a window and installed one with a broken latch. My problem is the lack of communication and no one knows what’s going on. It’s a long story but the office end of things is a joke. It’s to bad because otherwards this would be a great review. My estimants were amazing, installers amazing, office end stinks. I wouldn’t go with them again. I don’t like to have to keep calling to find stuff out and I still don’t know wtf is up w the forgotten window…

Excellent product, excellent service and a big shout out to Nicole for her efforts on the project. We have one slider window left to do in this house at some point — and I will call Hall’s.

This review is regarding consultation, not actual installation. We decided to just replace one pane of glass instead of doing a full window replacement but if we were to replace the window, I would go with Hall’s. Steve Larsen was so helpful and informative and definitely a no-​BS kind of guy.

We have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of workmanship and care we have received from Hall’s Windows. They helped us find windows close to the original to maintain the architectural integrity of our 1930 Tudor but also installed them in a way that you can hardly tell they are new except they open, they block out a lot of sound, and they are top rated for insulation. Their painters have just finished staining the interior wood, repainting where plaster had to be patched and painting the exterior framing. They did a lot more than I expected and I am delighted with the quality, timeliness, and courtesy of Hall’s craftsmen.

9years and 8 months ago I had Halls Windows replace my 1920s Windows with Anderson replacement windows. With a house this old it is never an easy task. They did a great job.
Fast forward to now. I noticed the wood trim on the south facing Windows was starting to dry rot, not unexpected. I had painted and maintained the Windows but they were south facing and get all the weather. I looked at the warranty material Halls sent when I originally purchased the Windows and the warranty was for 10 years.
I called Halls Windows expecting the run around or the pro rated argument.
I spoke with a very nice lady who pulled my info up on their computer. She said «yep they’re within the ten year period.» She asked me to send pictures of the damage which I did with my IPhone. I was contacted the next day by another nice lady who said that’s dry rot. She then sent a person out to get a list of materials needed to repair. Two weeks later my trim was replaced. I never saw any employees from Halls there was no mess left and my problem was fixed no time off from work.
How many companies offer that type of service?
I had already recommended Halls to my parents who live in Land Park. They had all their windows and doors replaced and love them.

Wow, I have to say what a terrible experience. This is based solely for the estimate portion that we NEVER received! Rob Snellings came out to our house for a scheduled appointment. After he arrived late, he gave us a lot of misinformation about doing not being able to do retrofitting for all of our windows. In addition, he never went over the windows with us and had to go dig around in his car for brochures after we asked. Then he promised to email the quote to my husband the following Monday, after the weekend. (No, the email wasn’t wrong, my husband verified it). We have had several other companies come out and give us a quote on the spot. I’m sorry Hall’s, but I would think that you would at least be able to quote someone that is referred to you by a prior client.

We have a 1930’s home in Land Park and decided it was time to replace our original door. Hall’s provided the best customer service and install. In a few words we «Love» our new door! Thanks Halls!

I have had such wonderful customer service from Hall’s. I had them install a new front door and rear sliding glass door a few years ago. I love my doors — they are beautiful! I have needed service a couple of times and they have always been prompt, friendly, and no charge. Recently my Dad called them for help with his front door and they had someone out to fix it in 15 minutes. I recommend Hall’s highly!

i would not use this company I had heard good things but after dealing with Raquel never ever again! She has poor customer service skills and is extremely rude at one point she said I don’t have time to go over this with you for the third time when she failed to explain it correctly the first time and the second she seems like she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I ended up using Lowe’s even though I wanted to give this place my business since my family has used them in the past. I would train you employees better Raquel just cost Y’all a $ 78,000 job

Our experience with Halls was outstanding from start to finish. Our sales person, Rob Snellings, was knowledgeable, low key and very patient with our many questions. The process for completing the SMUD financing was seamless. The permit process through the city was a little hairy and required extra effort on the part of Halls. They went to bat for us and the permit was approved and issued.
The install crew was incredibly efficient. Halls even sent an installer back out to replace some parts that we were unhappy with because the paint color was white instead of the dark color of the rest of the outside trim.
My only disappointment was the $ 500 permit fee which we had to pay outside of the SMUD finance program. I was surprised to get a bill for that several weeks after our installation was complete. I felt for the money we spent for the wood windows, Halls should have covered the cost of the permit.

We had a sliding glass door installed in our living room and it’s beautiful, it opens up the whole room! The halls window installers and painters were professional and efficient… with a newborn at home, they were courteous and respectful as well :) highly recommend Halls, from the sales (thanks Mario!) to the finishing touches, it was a great experience.

Just got my windows for my home in Rocklin from Rob Snellings. Wow — what a difference. Rob was really a great guy, professional, VERY responsive (which is almost unheard of these days) and did what he promised. The contractors they use too are also very easy to work with. I have worked with several contractors while remodeling my home and 99% of them are a nightmare to work with. Halls Windows & Rob were on top of their game. Already referred my neighbors to Rob. Good to have a company like this in Sac!

I’m so frustrated with the lack of returned calls from the sales contact. I leave nice messages; I even went to the manager to get assistance in resolving my problem. I did, but then was returned to my original sales person who continually promised to call me back… I’ve followed up with email too… I’m still waiting…

Just want to say that my problem got resolved… actually earlier than I had known because they had accessed the problem from the outside and never told me! Overall, I really like Hall’s and find the quality of their work to be very good.

Hall’s had done an outstanding job with my living room sliding door and window as well as my dining area windows. I will most definitely have them replace the other windows and the front door in my house as I can. They are the most honest and trustworthy company I have ever dealt with and I recommend them highly. If there is any problem, they will quickly resolve it. I would never consider any other company to do my windows and doors in my house. They are just awesome and I highly recommend them. I thank Kitty O’Neal for recommending them on KFBK.

Working with all the people at Halls was a pleasure as they were thorough professionals. The work that was done was a big undertaking as it required the removal of a window and replacing a six foot slider door with a 12 foot slider. It required the adding of a header and re-​framing. All the sub-​contractors that were part of the Hall’s team were nice to work with.
If there is a negative that i must point out — the job took longer than first estimated. Having said that, it is usually the nature of any construction job. While that was a nuisance, it wasn’t a big issue as the job was completed to my satisfaction.
I would definitely recommend Halls Window to anyone who is considering replacing or adding new windows and doors. I would hire Halls if they would work on bathrooms and kitchens however, unfortunately they specialize in windows and doors.

We got quotes from alot of companies that were at the home & garden show at Cal Expo. Halls was not the cheapest by far, however they made sense, were able to answer our questions with expertise, were fast & efficient with starting the whole process to replace the windows in our 56 year old home. They were installed 2 days ago! They were knowledgeable, fast, efficient, clean, covered all the areas in our home that would be affected and also covered the plants on the outside of the house.
They look beautiful but even more important, they have insulated out house so that now, instead of being 20 degrees lower than the outside temp, it is now 30 degrees less than outside. We have regained ¼ of our house by having the windows changed because it was too hot to use several rooms previously, on hot days.
Now we wonder, why did we wait so long? The price wasn’t that different than other companies quotes, but I believe you get what you pay for, and we got great value for the amount spent.
