WORST INSURANCE COMPANY!!!
I found mercury insurance through AIS, they gave me a good quote and sent me information regarding my new policy. I was paying around $ 82 per month. I was told with my current insurance I would have all the bells and whistles.
I was back into by a woman recently who was clearly at fault. She put on her reverse lights as I was waiting behind her at a stop sign. I honked. She kept backing up and what do you know she runs into my car denting my hood. I took pictures, got her license, got her insurance information, had a witness. Everything I could need to plead my case and have her insurance company pay for my damages.
I called mercury and was handled by a woman named HOLLY SHAND– Worst costumer service representative ever! I explained my accident to her and of course while we were being recorded she was nice as pie. We finished the call with her stating it would take about a week to report the information and she would be getting back to me… Awesome!
Well she never got back to me and in fact I had to get in touch with her to find out what was going on, When I explained I had not heard back from her, She stated to me that they were very unstaffed and she was trying her best. REALLY? I am paying you $ 80 a month for what again??? I ended up winning this case but all because I had to do it on my own and fight the claim with geico on my own!!! I plan on canceling my insurance with them ASAP

I was in an accident with a mercury client. Their clients blew a stop sign at 45 miles per hour in a parking lot. They totalled my car and the I car flipped upside down and was also totalled. The emergency personal said it was the worst car accident they had seen in a parking lot. We have a police report, a witness statement and a camera that caught the accident booked into evidence and mercury still will not accept fault. I have been 35 days without a car and mercury still has not offered me a car rental. When I called Maya which is Mercury’s Claim Adjuster she was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She informed me that their client didn’t have enough insurance to cover the accident. Their client was driving a 2014 Mercedes. When I asked for a rental car she rudely told me they only give rental cars for the first 5 days after the accident. I told her you never called me I had to call you. Maya replied well we didn’t have your number. It was one excuse after another. When I asked if Mercury was going to be taking care of my medical expense and days off work again her rude reply was im. sure you only have soft tissue damage. At this point I became so upset I hung up the phone. 2 cars totalled 1 which is upside down both of us had to be taken to trauma centers but Maya seemed to think she was a doctor. Mercury when my Lawyers contact you which they will make sure you give Maya a big fat thank you. Never ever get insurance from this company.

My mother was in an accident, and the other driver (a male who was alone) was at fault.
There was no accident report filled out. There were no witnesses.
The other driver made a false statement. He replaced himself with his wife on paper (or mother, who knows), and they made up a story such that she was driving, not him, and my mother was at fault, not him. His wife was actually not present at all when the accident happened.
Mercury took the side of the other driver, and believed their statement, and not my mother’s. Mercury paid their claim, and sent my mother to collections. Unbelievable!

Mercury Insurance has given me the worst experience in my LIFE! I was completely stopped due to traffic and their client whom was not looking forward but rather looking at the back seat at their infant hit my car at 40 mph and pushed my car into the car in front of me. The car in front suffered no visible damage and actual damages were less than $ 500. My car did not suffer any frame damage but had severe damage to the rear as well as damage to the front. Mercury has ignored the CHP report which clearly put fault with their client and the driver of the car admitted fault. They offered a fraction of the true costs.
What it appears they do in most every case is to low ball the repairs and not accept full fault. They break up the claims between multiple people so that there is no clear responsible person and that enables them to force you into a circular chase. They will do that and if you do not have the tenacity and resources to fight your claim legally it will be difficult to get your fair repair costs for damages that are not your fault.

WORST insurance company ever! I was hit from behind as I was stopped on the freeway and they claimed SHE was hit and that’s why she hit me… She had NO damage to her back end and my bumper was falling off and I sustained an injury. They never returned any of my calls but sent me a letter saying they can’t talk to me as the matter was under investigation. I kept calling and calling and finally talked to a supervisor who told me the case was resolved and they weren’t accepting fault… Might I add THEY NEVER CAME TO LOOK AT MY CAR. They said «she had damage to her back end which was conclusive with her story.» They never looked at my car once. It’s such bullsh*t that people can get away with something like this. Beware getting hit by someone with this insurance company. They are shady and will do anything to ignore you then screw you over.

I found a better auto/​homeowners policy with Safeco and I called to cancel my current auto policy with Mercury. They then informed me that I will still owe ten percent of the balance of the auto policy as this is their cancelation policy. I have cancelled numerous auto policies over the years for a better rate and NEVER been hit with any type of balance owed.
This is a terrible policy that rips off the consumer.
Stay away from this company!

Well, something must have happened at Mercury, because this accident has been handled in a quick and professional manner, from start to finish.
I could not ask for better service. The accident was not my fault, but I still hope that my rates do not go up… we shall see.
