Smart & Final

We were from out of town and looking for a place where we can purchase some snack for our hotel room, as we just completed spending a full day on the river.
As we were searching Unilocal,we found that this Smart & Final was close by, which we know the quality we are getting we decided to stop. We were not disappointed in this Smart & Final. the packing lot is very big, of course they are unable to control the people and they way they drive, so we do not fault them for that. We walked in the shopping cart do not lean to the left or right, which for more store is hard to find. We entered this store and found exactly what we were looking for, like chips, popcorn, water, and sodas too. Of course all at a very good price.
The reason we are not giving this a complete 5 stars was due to the floor being very sticky, like somebody tried to mop, but did it with old water and not a very good job. We keep that as part of the customer service experience and hope they change that in the future. Otherwise we would be coming back to this store on our return trips to the river and other trip which might bring us to the area.
This store has most of everything you will use, including items at Safeway, Lucky’s and Costco. The in store items are just as good if not better in some cases. Also the produce and meat section are very good and the quality is well above average.

This is probably the nicest Smart & Final that I’ve ever been to. The store is clean and tidy. Employees were all friendly, and they have a nice produce section.

I’m really impressed with the Smart & Final Extra stores. Great all ready cooked whole chickens! Great favor, juicy and good price. Produce is good for the most part sometimes I pick out one that’s not good. Bulk area is great when I get what I want. Three times a week I can’t get what Im looking for. Always empty! Customers service is great at checking out! On the floor not the best. The girl that collects carts is a lost cause when I see her I rather walk down every aisle myself for hours. I’m still giving this store 5 stars because it’s an easy store to get In and out of In a rush. Some Cashiers are really fast and I like that. Three cashiers are eye candy! One I think is a manager or assistant manager. So I have two reasons I go in their lines. Fast and cute.

This is the first Smart and Final I have seen that is clean and more choices compared to others I have been into the past. However the staff were not so friendly, seemed like they did not want to be there. It is pleasant enough to shop at and find items quickly.

They have great produce, however, from what I hear from employees, no encouragement from supervisors and communication between a lot of staff & management lacks.

First time in this store so of course I didn’t know where anything was. I must mention that this store is Well Kept, and clean. I Was looking around and was approached by an employee, Joel, very energetic and helpful. He showed me, to where the item i had been looking for was. He offered if i needed help again not hesitate to ask. I thanked him and finished shopping. Upon paying at the register, i happened to have Joel as my cashier and again I must say he has such great energy and gives you the customer service, Every Retail Store should abide by. Big Thanks to Joel and I Will be making this my shopping store. Oh I must also agree with one of the reviews i saw previously, they do have a good produce section.

If you’ve been to a smart and final, you’ve pretty much been to them all. I visit this store frequently, since I am the other half of a party rental company, I stock up on necessities here because I can only get certain supplies here. You can only imagine how stoked I was because I didn’t have to drive to Citrus Heights or Madison Ave anymore. Everyone is usually nice, a little lacking in the professionalism spectrum, totally not a deal breaker. Upon opening, I noticed a few ladies losing their temper and composure while dealing with a male employee. Apparently he says inappropriate comments under his breath, usually along the lines of how we are in his way. Unfortunately I’ve seen him do this and get rightfully chewed out. So when he started his crap with me, I ignored it because I really enjoy being happy. And left the angry me, years behind but I knew eventually he would and he did. Usually he gets flustered on carts and just huffs and puffs about the job description. He’s a tad older than me and I was raised to be respectful and I’ve had the displeasure of working with the general public and know how we can get. However a walkway is only yay wide and I don’t think you should display and say mean things about me being in your way. I told the manager and he was busy and asked me to call him back about this issue. I didn’t have time or energy to get into it again. However I think some complaints might have gotten directed his way and Jason has tried to remedy his attitude, because I actually seen him assisting a lady and not be a dick about it. So I avoid this guy at all costs and make sure to bring back up if he really wants me to get ugly, not nice. Anyways for now he’s staying out of my way and I will stay outta his but he really needs to stop with his b! tchass ways and remember he can always go work elsewhere.

Really like this S & F – it’s a good size, clean, friendly employees & has a very good produce section.
I also like that they carry the Caffe D’Vitta (32 oz. size) instant flavored coffee in French Vanilla and White Chocolate as well as Mocha – who cares if it isn’t good for you it’s great piping hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream in it – yum!
Also appreciate they’re carrying vegetarian items too.

Smart & Final is OK. They don’t have a Glacier water fill up and the First Street brand stuff is crap. The cashiers aren’t the friendliest and Erik A. is rude every time I go in there. Looks like Smart & Final needs to train their employees on customer service.

Great Smart & Final. This is a new location with great produce and overall selection. Prices are cheap and quality is good. They even have the CoolHaus ice cream cookie sandwiches from down in LA (SO GOOD!).The employees are very friendly.

nice, clean store hate the white hospital lighting, but most cheaper grocery stores use that lighting bc it is cheaper i know sounds crazy to complain about lighting at a freaking grocery store, but hey i like yellow lighting more of a mellow color nit like I’m in the morge. Like be lair i enjoy there atmosphere and lighting makes it more gormet isn, but any who smart and final does have great deals and service is pretty nice and normal. They do not ask you about your whole life story like raleys or be lair does. OMG! that shit drives me nuts, here is 95%of raleys/​belair clerks hi hows your day going? so what you cooking tonight? can i come over haha «fake laugh», What you got planned for tonight? .Like wtf, i just tell them now I’m a raging alcoholic or a serial killer of course this is a joke but usually they believe it and shut up lol. its fine to say hi how are u today or have nice day but there is a limit. So this is nice at smart and final simple, easy service they have lots of sales and a large frozen section. Baked goods are eh so, so but ok and not a lot of seafood, but great deals on chicken and beef. So check it out and save the $:)!

I am SO happy this store was opened. I just moved up from San Jose and Smart and Final was our go to store. when we first moved, we found the store on Watt and were horrified by how gross it was. The Watt location had hardly any product and all the produce was moldy. We had our fingers crossed that this one would be atleast decent. It was AWESOME. The store is very very clean, it is huge, the staff was very freiendly, and has a very big selection. I was very impressed by their produce department and bulk section. They also seemed to have the best pricing compaired to all the other stores we shop at. This will be our go to shopping place from now on. Very happy it is here.

Great produce. Great selection. Friendly staff. Pricing extremely competitive with other stores. Bought a 5# bag of potatoes for 69 cents and a rotisserie chicken… Dinner time!

I stopped by this Smart & Final during the grand opening weekend and was so disappointed. The produce was so, SO awful. I bought two different types of melons and completely regretted it. They were not ripe and bruised. Avocados were on my shopping list and they looked absolutely terrible. Another shopper and I were digging through them, trying with no avail to find a decent one.
I could see this being a good option for someone who can’t afford or doesn’t want to pay for a Costco membership, as the bulk options were competitively priced. I won’t be returning to this store though.
Customer service was their saving grace– at least the friendly, genuine cashier who checked me out and didn’t miss the coupons stuck to my eggs.

I’ve been going to the 24 hour fitness across the street for four years now, and I’ve always hoped that someone would put a grocery store nearby there so that I wouldn’t have to drive all the way down Folsom Blvd just to hit up Safeway for a couple of things. So when I heard that a Smart and Final was going in where the K-​Mart used to be, I was happy about it. I thought it would save me time and money, and hopefully have an awesome selection. I was really hoping it would be good enough to compete with the Winco in Folsom, which I gladly venture off to on my weekends because it’s easily the best grocery store around IMO.
So I end up there two days ago to pick up some stuff for my upcoming work week and some stuff for sandwiches. So as I walk in, the first thing I notice is how clean it is. Now this is great, don’t get me wrong, but considering that the store is brand new, it’s kinda expected. The other thing I notice as I walk up and down the aisles is how narrow they are. The aisles remind me of some little two lane side street in the backwoods of Belgium. All that was missing was the cobblestone and a few bicycles. And keep in mind that the store is CROWDED. I found it challenging to maneuver my cart in any direction without nearly bumping into another confused shopper who was, like me, here for the very first time. Anyway, It got kinda annoying having to constantly move around shoppers to avoid a collision while looking at the products to decide what I wanted. I felt like I was playing Dance Dance Revolution.
The selection is ok, but not anything to write home about. The store isn’t as big as it seems from the outside, and I understand that they can only fit so many products inside. I think it would of been nice to see a wider variety of soups, bathroom products, and vegetables. However, I did find some stuff there that I havent seen before. I love Amy’s soups, but I’ve kinda gotten tired of all the flavors. Good to know that Smart and Final has a wide variety of them, and that includes flavors I’ve never seen before. So props to them for that. And the service was also pretty cool too. The lady at the cash register was really friendly and even gave me a free reusable bag. I also liked the bulk food aisle. You save alot of money buying in bulk, and I’m happy to see that option is available, because I love almonds, and the little prepackaged bags just aren’t my cup of tea. I need a straight BAG of them.
The biggest complaint I have though is the pricing. For some microwave vegetables, soup, egg whites, almond milk, bread, cold cuts and cheese, I wouldn’t expect the bill to be that much. So when I went to go pay for everything I couldn’t help but do a triple take when my total bill came to $ 47.00. Damn… A little on the expensive side. When I got the receipt I checked to make sure I wasn’t accidently charged for some New York steaks and lobster. Nope. No steaks, no lobster, no mercy. I paid and left a little lighter in the wallet.
So overall I liked the service, the cleanliness, the bulk food and the free bag. However, the narrow aisles, lack of overall variety, and prices keep this place from being a four or five star grocery store. I’ll definitely be back here to pick up some stuff here and there, but Winco is still my favorite option.

I know it’s a grand opening. However! It is very clean. Very well stocked and priced.
Now! You can’t get everything here but they do give you a great selection of things.
The employees are well dressed and very helpful, oh! Very courteous as well.
Not only will I be shopping here way more often but I will be recommending everyone to come give this store a shot.

Smart and final crew has added another worthy entry to the chain of discount supermarkets. I really love this business. It’s in the same class as I would say as Costco or Sam’s Club However there’s none of the hoo-​ha of membership fees. Come check it out if you have a family.
