Love the fact that they have Peets coffee but everything else is super expensive. Cobb salad was 80% lettuce and had very little chicken or other toppings. They were also very stingy with the dressing. Within walking distance to my office which is also a plus.

This place really covers all the components of a stellar lunch destination. Great friendly service, and fast. Very well put together bakery section with great variety. The sandwich was phenomenal, it tasted extremely crisp and fresh. The coffee was better than your average Starbucks or dutchbros. But, it’s all very overpriced. I ordered a cookie, a roast beef sandwich and a medium mocha, and it came out to be $ 17.

The food can be a little pricey, but the beauty in Specialty’s is the space in my opinion. There’s an ample amount of seating with outlets *everywhere*! WHAT A DREAM! You can order with a person or via a tablet. Very efficient system. I haven’t gone during a busy lunch, but it’s nice and quiet afterwards.(Perfect for one-on-one meetings!) I had a small salad that cost me over $ 10 after I added chicken. Kind of crazy! Food was pretty decent at least. I highly recommend this spot if you need to study or work outside of the office.

The food looks good, but the coffee service is incredibly slow. 15 minutes for a medium iced drink with 3 drink orders ahead… That’s 5 minutes a drink.

I loved the kiosk. The ability to customize your selection and see both the nutritional and the caloric value according to your meal was appreciated. What prevented the 5 star rating from me is that they only allow 5 substitutions and the selection are few. If they were to offer bean sprouts on sandwiches, I’d be a happy Unilocaler! I got the tuna melt on some toasted bread type. I ate the entire sandwich but there was something missing like the wow factor!

I have mixed feelings about this place. They push their app to order ahead of time which is a great idea, but is not available for Android. So after downloading it for my ipod, get my whole order together for delivery, it says it cannot be delivered until 10:30. It was only 8:30 and that wasn’t going to work. So I decided to pick it up. Their«ASAP15 min» option was available either. It wouldn’t let me finish the order due to something not being available, but didn’t tell me what. After getting frustrated, I just went down there, placed my order on their kiosk and waited. Less than a minute later they call me over to tell me that they are out of white chocolate sauce and almond milk. Guess we found the issue of why it cannot be ordered online. Had to change my order and was not compensated for the almond milk, which they charge extra for. Overall the drinks were good. Nothing to write home about. Blueberry muffin was delicious. Disappointed that I ordered there again this morning and still no almond milk.

Well, I have never been here before but I decided to try it out today. One coworker said the salads are horrible but the sandwiches are great, and my other coworker said the salads are great! So of course, I ordered the Chicken Club salad with dressing on the side and extra crotons. One star– I thought the order to go thing was kinda cool where you just went and grabbed what you got, which was super fast. 2 stars– the salad dressing was SUPER good. Unfortunately, the salad itself was not good at all :( It was shredded iceberg lettuce and it didn’t look fresh, the chicken was really bland and was like cubed chicken and there was barely any chicken at ALL on the salad, it was almost entirely iceberg lettuce which was disappointing as that is basically just water, lol. The avocado was good but it was already turning a little brown and the egg was ok too. The bacon bits were very minimal as well. My piece of bread was really dry and didn’t taste good either. I had such high hopes for this place. I kinda feel like I spent $ 8 for lettuce egg and dry bread. But my other two coworkers LOVED their sandwiches so if I do decide to return, it will not be for that disappointment of a salad.

Thank you Specialty’s Café & Bakery for opening a place up near my office! Another place to eat! SCORE! I had a great first time experience here at this location. This Specialty’s Café & Bakery is fairly large in size compared to the other ones I have been to. Even during the lunch rush hour there was still some tables open for seating. If you walk in from the main entrance, they have about 4 kiosks for you to use if you would like to order it from there instead of the cashier. I can see this method working since the lines can be long and it helps them serve customers faster. But for my first visit here I just decided to wait in line for the cashier. When you are close enough to see the full counter, the display of cookies is the first thing you see! How can I say no to a black and white cookie? The guy behind the cookie display(possibly the manager since he was dressed up) was friendly as he helped me. At the cashier I ordered The Chairman sandwich and my co worker ordered the Napa Waldorf Chicken Salad sandwich. We decided to share the two sandwiches so I got to taste both of them, so after I ate them both I personally like The Chairman better. The Chairman comes with turkey, swiss cheese, avocado, cucumbers, sprouts, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and other good stuff. Everything in the sandwich tasted fresh making the sandwich refreshing to eat. The black and white cookie was tasty and I would have to say it is probably my favorite cookie at Specialty’s. There are several parking spaces available so there shouldn’t be an issue finding a spot to park. I did have an issue finding the location since my GPS took me around the block. But overall it’s a great place to eat a good lunch.

I work very close to this new place and I like to walk and get coffee but my latest obsession is their dirty chai tea. It is absolutely amazing! The pastries have a decent selection something similar to panera have yet to try their sandwiches

Decided to try this new spot by my job. Many co-workers stated that it’s a bit pricey but the food is good. Large parking lot & nice size café. Ambience is casual, relaxing, & trendy. Luckily I went early(11:45am) because it was very confusing where/how to order(hence the 4 stars). They have online order area pick-up, self kiosk ordering, & counter ordering. Staff was EXCELLENT! Very helpful in describing their menu & provided samples of their soup! Food was very fresh & tasty! Definitely recommend!

While Starbucks has increasingly become a place that encourages you to purchase your drink and leave, Specialty’s seems to be saying the exact opposite. Have a drink and STAY. RELAX. Rancho has needed a place like this for forever. Quiet, relaxing open atmosphere, with upholstered chairs. Even a nice little slightly closed off nook area with couches and more chairs. This place is first class.

Not bad but OMG. There is zero ventilation and at 1030am it was a HOTBOX!!! Zero plant or flowers. Probably because it’s a desert!

After about five visits I’m ready to announce with confidence that me and Specialties are kinda a thing. I think we are leaning toward exclusive except other coffee places want to date me on Saturdays and Sundays and Specialties is only there for me on weekdays. That said, he provides no line, a quick, quality brew with Pete’s coffee. And the coffee drinks are prepared in that special Pete’s method. For this reason alone, this shop stands tall above our nearby only Starbucks options. Food: I can compare this chain best to Panera Bread’s morning offerings but with more Danish and croissant type items instead of cookies. They’ve got stuffed croissants and breakfast sandwiches and lots of other high fat and calorie delights. Another bonus about this place is the ample meeting space. You won’t bump into others and I see groups as large as 12 holding actual business meetings there. I wish I had a group to meet there. Because we would. I love making this place part of my morning return. Follow me, Unilocalers! Forget Starbucks!

Review Disclaimer: If my initial experience was not that great I will try to eat at a place for a few times before my final review. This review is reflective of 4 visits. My breakfast experience: I had a blueberry muffin, fruit cup and regular coffee. The fruit was fresh, coffee was bitter, blueberry muffin was a bit dry and was lacking blueberries. I’ve tried 3 sandwiches &2 soups: Turkey & Cranberry The Chairman Hot Cheesy Steak Santa Fe Tortilla Clam Chowder I liked them all. The sandwiches were well constructed. The bread was fresh, delicious and all the meats, cheeses and veggies tasted fresh. The only note is on the Hot Cheesy Steak. They ran out of pepperoncini peppers which would have cut through the creaminess of the cream cheese and cheddar nicely. They had nothing else to replace it. I ordered online so I wish they would have called me. I would have changed my order. I at least would have liked the option to do so. I also had a Salted Caramel Pecan Tart which was so freaking delicious and the Valentines sugar cookie which was dry and not worth $ 2.89. #hit&miss I love the online/app ordering feature. It’s super convenient and easy to use. Would I come back? Sure. The food is good but I hope the baked goods get better though.

Went to Specialty’s for lunch with a group of six co-workers today, and we were not disappointed! Great, buzzing atmosphere with other professionals from the surrounding business park. Very clean — I always notice the floors and garbage areas, usually there’s straw wrappers or bits of food sticking around, not so here and they were busy with the lunch crowd. Waited about 3 minutes in a line to order, and about 10 minutes until our pagers went off notifying us to pick up food at the counter. We ordered a roast beef sandwich, peanut butter & bacon sandwich, cobb sandwich, and a rebecca sandwich. Desserts were a black and white cookie, semi-sweet chocolate chip cookie and a carmel pecan pie. It all looked and tasted amazing! Portion sizes were filling. It’s possible to share a sandwich if you’re both eating light. Highly recommended

This place was excellent! It is so warm and inviting! It is very nice to see a peetes this close to where I live as well as it being a specialty one at that! Everyone s so nice there and it was really cool to see that you can order everything on a tablet. Even with that they have someone check to make sure you are getting the hang of it. I can’t wait to go back arena study for school there.

My 13th Grand Opening review. On 1÷14÷2016, I was heading to an another location located at the neighborhood of Rancho Cordova called, «Specialty’s Café & Bakery.» This wide-spaced café brings remarkable breakfast and lunch entrees, pastries and café drinks provided by Peet’s Coffee. As I entered their doors, the atmosphere is very laid back and quiet. The concept remains the same as the Downtown’s Capitol Mall location. Of course, this place has more tables and seats available, so you can talk to your friends, students, or co-workers especially having small meetings and studying too. One last thought, they have a free wi-fi here, so you can surf the web easier and faster. The employees are doing a great job for making the customers a warm welcoming environment. No cons at all. For my lunch choice, I ordered a Hot Ham & Cheese sandwich and a Thai Coconut Chicken Curry soup. So far, these foods are very delicious and eatable. The ingredients for both are very fresh and tasty. The flavors hot ham and cheese sandwich is totally on point. I can feel the melting, gooey Jack cheese right thru into my mouth especially the mayo! Additionally, the Thai Coconut Chicken Curry soup also tasted magnificent. It has the right spices to make this soup more elegant. A well, satisfying meal. Besides meeting to the register, you can order your food and/or drinks faster by using their online ordering. It’s fast and easy to use, so your meals will arrive on time when it’s time to pick up, or catering any destinations to your office. What a convenient idea. There’s plenty of parking spaces available, so you can park anywhere you want without the hassles. In the end, Specialty’s Café & Bakery in Rancho Cordova is the finest location that I’ve ever visited for the first time after it opened it’s doors. A well, worthy visit! My rating: 4 solid stars.

SO happy they’ve come to Rancho Cordova! I was waiting, had missed them since I lived in SF. Healthy menu options and fun stuff too. VERY Glad about the Peets coffee which our neighborhood was really long way from the closest Pete’s. And I am excited to try the online ordering! The kiosks in the store work amazingly well you can hand select all types of additions to your dish or exclude any item

Love the food! It’s super fresh and the pastries are delicious. I though this place was going to be like Panera, boy I was wrong! I love the atmosphere, they customize it to the natives. I really enjoyed the artwork, if you’re into that. I ordered the Turkey Pesto and the Turkey Cranberry. I loved the bread on the Turkey Cranberry because it was really soft. The bread on the Turkey Pesto was hard and crunchy but still yummy. The best part about this place is you can customize everything! I highly recommend ordering online first or at least checking out the menu first, because they have some specialty items. All in all: great food, highly recommend, and great atmosphere, and very modern, oh and customer service was excellente! Thank you Specialtys! I’ll be back soon!

Great and friendly staff for the soft opening! The staff seemed like they have the process down. One side is for coffee and the other is for food. The service was on point and easy to understand. I like the order devices to keep track of their orders. Free wifi. So far, it’s a great start!
