Elite Event: Slater’s 50/50

Thanks Katie! This has been one of the most enjoyable Unilocal days ever! The brunch event at Flemings was superb, but ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ was a great way to end the night. I’ve been to Slaters once, and I can say that this place is doing it right. Since this was a pre-​launch opening, I was prepared the restaurant to run into problems, delays in food, unsure waiters, mistakes, and broken plates. To my surprise, the restaurant flowed perfectly, the food was great, they came out at a reasonable pace, the waiters were attentive, and there were no mistakes, except for the broken plates (followed by a big applause).
All and all, it was nice to see all the Unilocaler’s out past the 605. I hope Katie does more events out here for us.

Slaters I have to thank you. After two Elite events where guests were not invited even a trusting wife will begin to wonder where her husband’s going late at night all by himself. «No Baby, „Elite event“ is not the new code word for shenanigans. I’m just going to a restaurant with a bunch of people I’ve never met.»
But this night was amazing. My burger was a monster sized sandwich of porky joy while my Sweet Wife invented the Tahitian, an island influenced concoction that she didn’t come even close to finishing.
But the crowning joy of our visit… the smores shake. It was so good that my wife and I both gasped at our first taste. It was unbelievable. They nailed perfectly the flavor of burnt marshmallows and the creamy chocolate and graham cracker crumble… oh, just amazing. My only complaint? That you didn’t bring us three.
If the purpose of this event was to give the wait staff some practice then you can skip any more of these, just open the doors! We were graciously and capably taken care of the entire night.
And the night included a little entertainment. One the of the Manger types had either just got back from running the clown car at the local circus or decided today to wear his jammies to work. I applaud your stones my man. Those polka dot britches were a wonder to behold!

Awesome event! Thanks Katie B and Slater’s for putting this together!
We had reservations at 7:30pm, but we got there early at 7 and the staff was able to accommodate us even though we were there a bit early. Our server, Patrick, was awesome. He made some great recommendations and his attitude really made the experience that truly sets the tone of what a great night it’ll turn out to be.
To start, we had the Vampire Dip. Paired with fried pita bread, it was full of cheesy garlicky goodness bite after bite! Word of warning — it is not an appetizer for just 2 people! It’s HUGE!
For the entrée, what better choice could I have made if I didn’t get the namesake? The ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ Burger was definitely made for those with a big appetite! Topped with an egg and avocado sauce, eating this burger does get messy… but it certainly didn’t stop me from finishing it up before everyone else at my table!
For drinks, I had the Moscow Mule and the Mint Chocolate Guinness milkshake. They certainly didn’t skim on the alcohol with the Moscow Mule! The Mint Chocolate Guinness milkshake had the perfect balance of alcohol and mint chocolate. The two ingredients actually goes together quite well.
By the time it was for dessert, I was barely able to take one bite of it. We ordered the Cococarma and, just like Patrick described, it tasted A LOT like the Girl Scout Samoas cookies!
Overall, a great experience considered this was a soft opening. Great job guys and I look forward to visiting in the future when I’m in the area!

Fellow Unilocalers Alex W, Kim L, Jen H and I came out to this event together and ended up doing a 3 hour dinner extravagenza! The portions were huge, and everything was super tasty. The maple bacon milkshake was addictive, the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and I just kept drinking it until the whole glass was gone despite the fact that I was already super full.
The service was a bit disorganized, our server was still in training and seemed a bit overwhelmed. We had alot of different staff member coming to our table asking us how we were doing, which was super nice and sweet but seem to add to the chaos. Mistakes were made but all were corrected in the end. We were a big table and everyone had a mind of our own.

Pretty awesome… they couldn’t find my reservation for some reason, but no biggie… we were still seated at our appointed time and our server came over right away to ask for drinks. I was pretty sad that they were out of bacon vodka, hence, no bacon mary or bacon old fashioned, and they were also out of sangria… BUT we still managed to order:
The ‘Merkcan: Bacon over bacon over bacon over a BACON pretzel bun! It was full of flavor and very rich, but towards the end… just too much bacon. Best to be shared.
Fries/​sweet potato combo: More sweet potato than fries (⁶⁰⁄₄₀ ratio), but both were delicious and we KILLED this app!
Twisted Vine: This alcoholic drink was supposed to have the flavor of grape and lemons, but it was way too much artificial grape and ended up tasting like grape flavored benadryl/​robitussin. I wouldn’t suggest this drink… stick with the popular BACON ones woo hoooo
Custom burger: I ordered the rare patty, and it came seriously rare. Normally, most burgers come as borderline medium rare, but not this one! Patty tasted a bit bland, as a result woops. Next time I’ll order the correct done-​ness, since they seem to be really on point about the wellness. Everything else was completely delicious and great!
Bacon maple shake: Yes, I NEED MY BACON! This was a delicious vanilla-​maple shake – a tad on the too sweet side, as the added maple syrup adds in more diabetes-​inducing sweetness. The bacon is very light, so if you just ate a giant bacon meal, you won’t taste it. Drink it on its own, and it provides just the right amount of salty flavor.
Our waiter was wonderful the whole time… sure, there were times when he couldn’t answer something, but he would always go ask the manager to double check and make sure we had a great experience. Overall, GREAT time, GREAT food, and GREAT service.
I WILL BE BACK!

Let me start out with thanking the management at Slater’s ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ and Katie B for putting this all together!
I’ve been to the original Slater’s previously, but didn’t think much of it after that. It just didn’t seem that special to me back then? I was eager to give it another try this time with this Unilocal Elite event!
The place was packed when we came. However, they were pretty quick and seated us with no problems, despite being slightly early for our reservations. Our waiter, Nick was pretty prompt and got our appetizers out pretty quickly — sweet potato fries & bacon mac n cheese balls! I would say service was spot on for all the drinks as well.
The only boo moment was when our burger orders were lost and we waited quite a while to get them out. Nick went on break, but Nancy came to the rescue and made sure we were taken care of. She put the order in and they came out pretty quickly!
She also encouraged us to try the vampire dip while we waited for them and it was by far the BEST appetizer I’ve had in a long while!
Despite eating our hearts out, we made some room for their bacon brownie dessert. It was quite rich and I’m not sure I was a fan of the bacon.
All in all, I really loved this experience here. The food was great, service was spot on and I’ll definitely be coming back when I’m in the area.

Upon entering the restaurant, there were a ton of Unilocalers and everything was very lively. I checked in with the hostess 10 mins before our actual reservation and luckily Gloria R. was able to get a few of us (Zee Z. and Tim C.) together at one table, which was great so we could socialize and enjoy the food together. All the hostesses were nice and very courteous. They kept us up-​to-​date with our status and we were seated shortly after our reservation time of 6:30PM.
I started with the Mississippi Sangria and that was really good. I really was not expecting much, but boy, did it pack a punch!
We shared a bunch of the appetizers: french fries and onion rings, fried pickles and mac n cheese balls, and the vampire dip. The french fries were good, but the onion rings were way better. I don’t know what it was about them… I just couldn’t stop eating them! The sauces provided were a great pairing so to speak since they both had a kick of flavor and spiciness in each one. I was surprised with the sourness of the pickle and fried goodness. Delicious! The mac n cheese balls were gone ina flash! Now, the vampire dip is straight up cheese overload, which means you’ll love it. It looked so good! I had to try some so I grabbed a pita chip and put a bit of cheese on it… it was like Heavenly bliss in a bite. I wish I could have eaten more, but I had to pace myself.
After devouring the appetizers, my ginormous burger came out: ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ patty, brioche bun, cheddar cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, bacon, onion rings, french fries… and my chipotle mayo and siracha mayo on the side. This tower of food was impossible to eat so I had to use a knife and fork. It was so much food I was only able to eat half of it! It was soooo delicious and worth every freaking calorie!
Then came the desserts: bacon brownie, bacon blondie brownie, and cococarma. I do have say that I’m not a fan of bacon and chocolate, but the brownie was so damn good. You can’t go wrong with it. The bacon brownie blondie was massive and the peanut butter frosting was perfect. My cococarma dessert was probably the best. I just have this love for butter and I could taste it in every bite of the cookie mixed with the caramel and coconut. I would go back just for this!
I would rate the service as a 95% given that this was a test run of the facility and that there was just a lot going on. When they burgers came out, it was a little confusing because they were naming the main contents of the burger rather than using the nickname we provided when we ordered it. The Slater’s location in Pasadena called it out by whatever we named it and it was easy to identify our burgers. Also, they actually forgot our side sauces that were supposed to come with a couple of our burgers. However, we notified them and they were quick to bring them out.
Our waiter did an excellent job of checking on us and letting us know when our food would be out since it was super busy. He gave us enough time to look over the menu, explain the menu options, and repeat our order to make sure we correctly marked what we wanted for the burgers. I also liked the fact that our waiter and some of the other staff checked on us for drinks constantly regardless if it was for beer, a mixed drink, or water. Also, the young lady walking the floor checked on us two or three times and did an excellent job of interacting with us and making sure we had what we needed.
Our waiter was awesome especially since we added two more people to our table. They actually ordered at another table and our waiter went that extra mile to try to locate who took their order and find the ticket. Unfortunately, he couldn’t find their order in the kitchen or who took it, but he took down their order and expedited it so that their food came out with ours. Now that’s what I call excellent service.
Overall, it was awesome make new Unilocal friends — Niki S. & Frank S. — as well as finally meeting some cool people in person — Bryan Y. & Neil G. I enjoyed my table: Gloria R., Tim C., Zee Z. and my boo. Thank you to Slater’s for hosting this event and giving us this special opportunity! Lastly, again, a big shout out to Katie B. for putting this together and be some awesome all the time!

This was my 2^nd Unilocal Elite event — it’s going to be hard to top this one! (especially since [A LOT] of bacon was included here…)
I had made reservations for 6pm but our shopping at ontario mills ended quicker than we thought so we made it so slaters by 5:30. There were maybe 4 – 5 hostesses at the front who greeted which was overwhelming at first. They gave us a text when our table was ready — nice touch! Because we came a little earlier, we ended up getting a table for 4 for just the boyfriend and I. When our waiter, Franky came to tell us everything that was complimentary for the night, our jaws went from =) or =O no way! So what exactly was included in the meal? I’m glad you asked!
Per table:
2 alcoholic beverages (cucumber mojito & Hangar 24 Orange Wheat)
1 appetizer to share (Vampire Dip!!!)
2 burgers (²⁄₃ Daddy Melt & Customized burger)

Yesterday’s «training» for the pre-​grand opening was awesome! Everyone was so friendly and made sure we were welcomed. Frankie was one of the best waiters with his energetic and fun personality. $ 20 tip for him! Rancho Cucamonga is 40 minutes away but I will definitely make my way back here — great atmosphere, friendly people, good food = good times.

The staff was very attentive and the food was great.
We had Tiffany as our server, and she did a really great job. We ordered a Moscow Mule and a Fiesta Drink from the bar. It took awhile to come back, and when reluctantly, I told her that my first Moscow Mule might have had some flat ginger beer she brought me a new one. She brought one out because she noticed «I hadn’t really touched my first drink.» She provided excellent service.
We had the vampire dip for a starter and it is very filling, very cheesy and slightly oily. It came with sourdough bread and pita chips. An excellent dish, but definitely better for a group bigger than 2.
We both created our own burgers, and they came out great. Quick tip, if you get the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ get it at least medium well because it comes out looking pink, which is kind of disquieting.
For dessert we had the bacon brownies. This should really be a bacon and chocolate cake. It was so big! It was two layers, with bacon on top and in the middle. Another dish that deserves a big crowd.

I got all hopped up on bacon, bacon, and more… bacon :)
First of all, I must say that this is the second Slaters soft opening I’ve attended. I was lucky enough to also attend the Pasadena location’s Elite opening, but by God, Rancho’s kitchen staff, wait staff, and food was FAR FAR FAR superior. I was greatly disappointed by the Pasadena location (so much so that I almost didn’t rsvp for this one), but I’m so glad I did!
The service was really awesome; our server Christi was sweet and accommodating. We started our smörgåsbord of bacon-​y goodness with a few beers (I got the Green Flash Saison Diego — very good) and then picked 4 of the combo appetizers. I’d suggest something but all of them were amazing little nuggets of fried heaven. For the mains I tried the Peanut Butter and Jeallousy burger. No wonder it’s award-​winning, I wanted to shake its hand and give it a medal myself! After all the food I didn’t have room for dessert, but not to fear, to-​go boxes were plentiful. The bacon brownie dessert is a bit much… but still was fun to try. I also got a nutella shake (mmmmm). After we finished eating the lovely waitstaff scooped us up in wheel barrows and rolled our oompa loompa selves out to our cars. I’m pretty sure I won’t be hungry again for a week. Or two.

This was my first Unilocal elite event and my first time to Slater’s ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ so I was so excited!
PARKING: We parked in the lot, it’s located at a corner across from Victoria Gardens so it wasn’t too hard to find.
WAIT: We had a reservation at 7pm but got there a little early so we had to wait for like 10 – 15 minuetes before we got seated. It was definitely very crowded and bustling.
ATMOSPHERE: Kind of reminded me of a yard house except brighter and a little louder. You could tell everyone was having a good time, with TV’s everywhere. We were seated right next to the bar in kind of an awkward area in front of the kitchen and behind the main dining area, I kind of wished we were placed in a better area, but oh well.
SERVICE: The service was definitely exceptional. Once you walk in, the people were nice and very friendly. Our waitress, Amanda, checked on us frequently and was very enthusiastic about our menu choices. The bus boys were also very attentive making sure we didn’t have any unwanted plates on our table.
FOOD: We ordered an appetizer, ¹⁄₃ burger each and a dessert.
VAMPIRE DIP — Oh… my…gosh this was AMAZING. I had a feeling I’d like it, but didn’t know I’d end up LOVING it. It came hot, with a bread bowl slightly toasted and the cheese/​garlic/​artichoke dip on the inside with pieces of fried pita breads, they were crunchy/​crispy on the outside but SOFT on the inside. Not hard at all. And some other pieces of bread, which were also toasted. I could have eaten the pita by itself but the dip was UBER cheesy, you had to scoop it with a spoon and slab it on your pita chip. SO GOOD, and not overly garlicy. If you don’t like cheese, you probably won’t like this. But oh man was it delicious. And still had some left over between the two of us.
⁵⁰⁄₅₀ BURGER — the reason slater’s is famous is for their ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ patty which is half ground beef and half BACON. You can tell they have a bacon fetish here, everything is bacon. It comes with avocado/​guac, pepperjack, an aioli I believe, fried egg and brioche bun. The patty was tasty, you could tell it was made with bacon. Even with medium it was quite pink on the inside, my fav. They definitely dont skimp on the avocado, which was nice. The burgers are a fairly good size, enough for one person but they are kinda hard to eat. They fall apart easily. I would say it’s a good classic burger, didn’t exactly blow me out of the water with a ton of flavor or uniqueness, but it was tasty. Maybe the bun could have been a little more like Umami’s.
My boyfriend got the Hawaiian burger and I thought it was better than mine. Pineapple, fried egg, SPAM, ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ patty, bacon mayonnaise… it was very tasty. I usually dont like sweet/​salty or like teriyaki type stuff on my burger but this one was GOOD. His bun seemed to be a little more toasted than mine too, which I liked.
BACON BROWNIE — Since it was their signature, we had to get it. To be honest, I couldn’t really taste the candied bacon even though it’s on top and in the middle. The brownie was more like a dense chocolate cake, but nonetheless really good and chocolate-​y and the ice cream was a perfect match. It was HUGE though.
We definitely came out of here WITH leftovers and super full. It’s definitely something to try, especially for those bacon lovers. I would just have to say compared to more «gourmet» burgers, it isn’t exactly up to par.

I had reservations for 5 pm and we were seated quickly. What I had noticed was that the atmosphere was fun and friendly, which can definitely be a nice thing.
One of the hostesses was super nice and chatted with us before our server came to our table. Our server, Alicia, was so nice as well! She was definitely friendly as was everyone else who checked up on us.
We ordered the Fritos Crunch burger, Big Daddy Melt, toasted marshmallow shake, beer cheese fries and skipped out on the dessert but got a voucher for a free dessert to use anyway.
Beer cheese fries: It definitely had the taste of beer! There was jalapeños, pepper jack cheese and had their signature chili on top. I would get this again although they say the Vampire dip is amazing so I would try that instead for the next time!
Fritos Crunch burger: I definitely liked this one! I always fall for interesting burgers and this was really good! It wasn’t super filled with as much Fritos as I would have liked but I’d get this one again. The patty itself was pretty huge. I’ll be trying the Peanut Butter and Jellousy burger next!
Big Daddy Melt: This had ²⁄₃ lbs of patty and it was huge! The patty was in a grilled rye bread with grilled onions, cheese and horseradish aioli. My bf thought it was good and he loved the aioli.
Toasted Marshmallow shake: I was totally eyeballing this after looking at the pictures at the Pasadena location. I really like this and recommend it. I would get the adult s’more shake for the next time.
The staff overall was amazing and we’ll come back when we’re around the area! =)

A million thanks to the incredibly accommodating staff and management at this Slater’s location for pumping sooooo much bacon and fatty goodness into my tummy that I wanted to hurl at the sight and smell of bacon by the end of my meal!
And thank you, Katie B. and Unilocal,for hooking us up with a full Slater’s meal, all the bells and whistles attached! On top of the shared appetizer (VAMPIRE DIP!!!), 1 ¹⁄₃ lb. burger per person (the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ & a Design it! with pineapple, fritos, baconnaise, and other weird combos… ask Chris K. -.-), and shared dessert (we had to pass that one up…), I was surprised that we also had 1 drink on the house (we were informed before dining here that this newborn Slater’s is still acquiring its liquor license… score!)… Guinness Mint Choco Adult Milkshake, thank you very much!
Since gluttonous Chris K. wanted his own Guinness Mint Choco Milkshake (normally $ 7.95 or $ 8.95), plus graham crackers, we only had to pay for the 2^nd bevvie. but because we skipped out on the dessert, Felicia (our very attentive server) graciously substituted the 2^nd milkshake for our dessert. so our entire meal was free ninety-​nine! We also got a free dessert voucher for our next visit here… imagine that!
During this visit, I also discovered the bacon salt… I may be late to the game, but better late than never, right? Add a heaping amount to your Vampire Dip… you can thank me later :)
Also a nice touch with the text reminder that was sent out an hour prior to my reservation time. Speaking of which, we got to the restaurant half an hour early, and were still seated immediately. :)
Please keep up the lively atmosphere along with the awesome service that we experienced during soft opening. Thank you Slater’s for finally giving me a stronger reason to venture 20 miles out to Victoria Gardens just to eat!

Trying to be a true Unilocaler, I drove home and immediately logged on to review Slater’s Unilocal event. Besides, I’m too full to move around and know it’s taboo to take a nap at this state.
Our server, Veronica was absolutely awesome. She answered all of our questions and went to consult the kitchen when she didn’t know it. She came by enough times to check up on us and when things didn’t go perfectly, she acknowledged it and apologized… even notifying management. Hey, it’s their test day so things will go awry. But I have no doubt she will perform very well once Slater’s go live starting 7÷1÷13.
We shared a table w/​2 ladies, and we all split a 6 item appetizer of: onion rings, fried pickle chips, sweet potato fries, mac & cheese balls, fries & fried jalapeño peppers. Each came with its own dipping sauce & of course, I completely lost track as the server explained which goes the best with what item.
We ordered the Flamin’ Hot Burger, and a design your own burger. There are so many options to choose from that you can truly customize what you want. Very impressive! Both were huge, stacked high and full of flavor.
For dessert, we ordered a S’mores milkshake and a Blondie w/​peanut butter sauce and bacon, served a la mode. It was amazing and the bacon actually worked very well.
The service from everyone (in my opinion) was above par, especially from our waitress Veronica. Her bubbly & energetic personality made the evening better, even though there were some slip-​ups during our dining experience. But considering the place was packed for a Unilocal event, I have to say they managed things pretty well.
Thanks Slater’s ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ for the generous offer and Katie for setting this awesome event up. We ate tasty appetizers, enjoyed a huge spicy burger, indulged in a huge dessert and made a couple of new friends. Great way to spend a Sunday evening.

My experience here was much better than my experience in Anaheim even if it was because my meal was compensated. That being said: Kim is a wonderfully attentive server who was friendly, helpful, and did everything she could to make our experience memorable.
My better half, Mel L., and I started with a Pick 3 Appetizer Platter. The onion rings were as deliciously crispy as I remember. I’m salivating just thinking about it! Although I enjoyed the Deep Fried Dill Pickles, the pickles themselves were a LITTLE TOO SALTY. Lastly, the Sweet Potato Fries were fabulous in the Pumpkin Dipping Sauce.
Mel played it safe and ordered the Original ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ which WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! It’s clean, it’s creative, there’s EGG AND AVOCADO, WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE? I was more tame this time and created a ²⁄₃ Pound Burger (THIS IS STILL TOO MUCH MEAT), with Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Grilled Pineapple, Bacon, with Bacon Mayonnaise, and Cilantro Lime Sour Cream Sauce. I called her The Tina Belcher. It was enormous and delicious. The richness and savoriness of the mayo added some moisture to the protein-​rich beef. The pineapple also contrasted some of the saltiness. I was pleased.
Everyone who worked here was very friendly and checked on our table constantly. They were very inviting and just wanted to make sure we were having fun. I wish I ordered a Diet coke, a milkshake, or a dessert to share with Mel, but WE WERE JUST SO FULL FROM ALL THE FOOD.

DON’T FORGET TO TIP!

What a lively Unilocal Elite event. There was a great turnout, full of Unilocal elites excited to try out the newest addition to a great restaurant chain. We were greeted at the door and seated quickly. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and attentive, although it seemed there was too many staff members running around, but they were very quick to get us refills and napkins.
The meal came with a free appetizer, dessert, and a burger for each person. It was inconsistent when one staff member said that the meal came with a free alcoholic drink, and another staff member said that the meal came with a smoothie. We got a soda and hoped that the refills were free, and they were! :)
The food was great. For the appetizer, we got the Slater’s Vampire Dip, which was a garlic, cheese and artichoke dip with sourdough bread and pita bread. Then we got the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ burger and the B’ B’ B’ Bacon Burger. I feel we could have enjoyed it more if we didn’t fill up with the appetizer first, but the bacon beef patty is a great concept. The flavors in the two burgers were really good, although the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ burger was a bit mushy because of the avocado. The B’ B’ B’ Bacon Burger had a perfect amount of bacon, and not overwhelming. We had to take some home!
For dessert, we got the Cococarma, which was like a pizookie except it was toasted coconut, caramel and chocolate cookie topped with vanilla ice cream, with chocolate and caramel drizzled on top. It was freshly made and was so sweet and delectable.
I believe this restaurant will do great. Even though it wasn’t too clear on the menu if refills are free (they are) or whether french fries are part of the burger entrees (they’re actually a separate appetizer), the service and food is awesome. This has been yet another great evening planned by Katie B. We even got freebies just for checking in! :) Thanks for introducing us to Slater’s ⁵⁰⁄₅₀!

Had a reservation at 5:30pm but since we arrived early, they went ahead and sat us at 5:15pm! Our lovely server was Mailee who is a local of Rancho Cucamonga. She was quick to greet us and get our drink orders.
Everyone was quick to get refills for us. My husband’s glass was almost empty and four people asked if he wanted a refill! All the staff here was very attentive and overall did a great job. They all explained each dish as it came out. I’ve been to the Slater’s in Anaheim and Pasadena and overall I think the staff at RC did a very good job at being more personable with their customers and really knows the menu well. (compared to the pre-​grand opening in Pasadena).
We got the Pick Three (onion rings, sweet potato fries and Mac n cheese balls and each came with its own dipping sauce). My husband got a custom pound ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ burger with his own toppings and I tried the Old Timey burger. Both were excellent and cooked to order. One guy we met who worked there is from Oahu and he was a nice guy who stopped to chat with us as well.
For dessert I got the Bread Pudding and my husband got the Bacon Blondie. I’ve tried their Bacon Brownie before and wanted to try something new.
Wow, the star of the evening was definitely the Bacon Blondie!!! It’s not on the menu at other locations yet but will be rolling out soon. Omg, if you love peanut butter and bacon, this dessert is heavenly! My husband said he liked this more than his burger and he’s not even a dessert kind-​of guy!
We are actually moving to the area soon so glad Rancho Cucamonga has a Slater’s now! I didn’t even know they were opening one until I saw this Unilocal event.
We may be their new regulars!

My second Unilocal Elite Event. YEEAH YEEAH!!!
Thank you, once again, Katie B for throwing another great event. And thank you, Slater’s 50/​50, for opening your doors to us Unilocalers and treating us to some give food, good service, and good company!
I’m already a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ fan (the one in Anaheim). So when I found out that their was a Unilocal Event at the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ in Rancho, I knew I had to sign up! And when i asked my cousin if he wanted to roll out with me, he instantly said yeah. haha
So first the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ waitress asked my cousin and I if it was okay if we were sat with another party of 2. We said it was cool. We were sat with Gregory and Jessica. It was a pleasure sitting with them and talking about cycling, food, and whatever else popped into our head. lol.
For appetizer we got the Vampire Dip. Huge fan of it! Tasted great!
I made my own burger. Got the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ patty, medium, vampire dip, slaw, grilled onions, cucumber, tomato, over easy egg, and siracha mayo. Doesn’t that sound good? Well I wished I was able to try it, cause it sounded good on my list. But they completely botched my burger. We all had a little bit of each others list in our burgers. lol. But its okay. I’ll let slide this one time. Cause I know its a training period. And the burger I got was still really good.
For dessert we got the bacon brownie w/​ice cream. The brownie and the ice cream were really good. The bacon was too chewy. I ended up just scraping off the bacon and eating the brownie and ice cream.
Service was really good. Our waitress was Brenita. She really took care of us. And she had a great personality.
I was able to meet up with my friend Van D here. But I wasn’t able to meet any other of my Unilocal buds. Hopefully next time. lol. (I saw a lot of you checking in to this event. :P)
By far one of the best events, Had good company, good food, and good service. Wish we had our name tags though. Would be nice to recognize peoples names. hahaha.
And damn… Free meals are always the best! lol

My first Unilocal Elite Event! It was fun being amongst fellow Unilocalers and finally getting to meet Katie B.
This place is going to be busy, busy, busy! Our reservation was for 530pm and we arrived a little bit after but luckily, we were seated immediately. The hostesses were very friendly and eager to help. Our waitress Brittany was very pleasant and attentive and, like her other coworkers, checked up on us quite frequently (maybe a little too much my boyfriend thought, but I understand that they were in training and just wanted everyone to be pleased). Atmosphere is laid back and the noise level is pretty high (maybe not the place for you to take someone on a quiet date).
We ordered the Pick 6 for the appetizer, customized two burgers, the coccorama dessert, the Columbus IPA, and the Snap, Crackle, Pop milkshake (adult version with vanilla vodka).
The appetizers came out timely– a platter full of deep fried goodness accompanied by a number of condiments (yes!), including a pumpkin sauce that paired well with the sweet potato fries just like the server recommended. The onion rings were too oily (I mean, I know they are deep fried but at least take some oil off). We had to physically push the platter aside to prevent ourselves from eating the whole thing as we waited (and waited) for our burgers.
Our customized burgers took awhile to come out, but Brittany (amongst others) did a great job of checking in on us to see if there was anything else we needed in the meantime.
Then our customized burgers finally came out and… Oh Em jeebus! My boyfriend (later regretting it) ordered the 1 pound burger loaded with fillings. He didnt finish it (thank goodness). I ordered the ²⁄₃ pound patty burger. Unfortunately they forgot to add the onions and kale I ordered but it was ok… I also didnt finish my burger and in the end, Missy threw in some kale for me to take home with my leftovers. We both enjoyed it for a little while then it got to be too much oiliness (fries appetizers, then the bacon patty).
I don’t know how but we managed to save a little space for dessert but we did and the coccorama was just the right size.
Overall it was a good dining experience but my boyfriend and I have decided to stay away from red meat for a couple of weeks and we headed straight to Sprouts for some veggies right after we left.

Located on Day Creek and Victoria Gardens. It’s right next to The Hat, and Starbucks. Ample Parking. I arrived 3 minutes earlier than my reservation time, nervous that I would be declined if I arrived one minute late. I was promptly seated by Keila, who was big smiles the entire time as she told us what she recommended.
When Unilocal forewarned that this was a private event for training purposes, I wasn’t expecting much from the staff. Bentley, our waiter was extraordinarily sweet and attentive. When my ice tea was ½ way empty, I received a new one, then another waitress brought another one. I had a line of ice tea awaiting to be consumed. That was awesome! Different staff members came by to introduce themselves and offer any assistance from more napkins to food/​drink recommendations. Ana, who I believe is in charge of quality control, asked that we flag her down if anything is less than satisfactory. Staff overall where amazing. Everyone was so sweet, kind, and friendly.
Appetizer:
— Pick 6 with their matching 6 sauces: fries = salty, sweet, and peppery. Sweet potato fries + pumpkin sauce was AMAZING; fried jalapenos were good (but not my fave) with the dill creamy sauce; fried sliced pickles, really like that they retained their crunchiness, great with the mustard sauce; onion rings, these were just ok. Lastly the mac n cheese bites were outstanding. Love that they used Velveeta cheese and chopped pieces of bacon. The other two sauces were ketchup and bacon ketchup (nice touch).
Entrees:
— California Chicken Sandwich, I got mine without bacon. I was already on bacon overload from a day of «pigging out» (pun intended). The chicken is grilled perfectly. There are three chicken strips. I think perhaps one chicken breast (vs chicken tenders) would have been better, especially for people who like to cut their burgers in half. Everything was good, except for the honey wheat bun. It was so dry that it crumbled while I tried to take a bite. I didn’t complain, I figured wheat was standardly dry anyways. I think I would have preferred the white brioche with it.
–Chicken and pancakes. Holy moly! This monstrosity was HUGE! Pancakes were incredibly. Buttery, flakey, sweet, definitely not your standard IHOP recipe. The chicken was moist and flavorful. This, I highly recommend!
Dessert:
— Famous Bacon Brownie, at this point I was a little over satiated with bacon, so I just picked around it. The brownie was moist, and delicious. I was so worried it was dry and had nuts. I was so pleased that it didn’t have any nuts at all. The al a mode was a perfect touch.
There was just so much food, it was enough to feed 500 people or so.
Overall, I am so glad that I made the 1.5 hour trek from Northridge to come to this Elite event.
