History

Established in 2009.

Bear Necessities Gifts was created to fill a void in the valley — unique and affordable gifts for you.

First started at the College of the Desert Street Fair, Bear Necessities Gifts provided a unique blend of gifts and home goods that filled the need for many of the Street Fair customers.

In spring of 2010, the hunt was on for a our new permanent location — and we found it. Located in the Pavilions of Rancho Mirage shopping center (located on the corner of Bob Hope Drive and Gerald Ford Drive), our central location is easy to get to from anywhere — Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Cathedral City and, of course, Rancho Mirage. We’re just minutes from anywhere in the valley and right next to the new Sunnylands Center and the Annenberg Estate.

Meet the Business Owner

Craig D.

Business Owner

Craig has over 20 years of experience in the retail world, both at the store level and at the corporate office.

Craig learned early on the benefit of exceptional customer service, garnering many repeat customers at the stores he worked in. His first job in retail was working for The Musuem Company, a store specializing in Museum and Art related gifts and more. In Las Vegas, the clientel ranged from the everyday mom & pop to the local and world-​wide celebrity.

Moving to Southern California, Craig began managing another Museum Company store in Newport Beach. His blend of great customer service and knowledge of the products sold, Craig gathered more customers and helped that store achieve new levels of sales and service.

Craig then went to a large sporting goods chain, at the corporate offices. Working in the IT department, Craig helped many of the chain’s stores and office staff with technical issues.

In 2009, Craig left the company and Bear Necessities Gifts was born!
