I love their shrimp fajitas. We came here on cinco demayo, we waited about 15 min to be seat and even ordered pretty quickly. After we order we waited at least 45 min for our food to be ready, as did all the other tables around us. Right as I was considering leaving out food came out and it was delicious! And they gave us a free cheese cake!

My Party of 5 and I are beyond disappointed of this place. We arrived at 6:15 and sat at our table at 6:20. We waited 45 mins for our food before we decided to go up and ask for the status of our order whom a waitress responded back that it was ready and going to get brought to our table now. 10 mins later, now waiting 55min for our dinner I decided to go up and ask to speak with a manager who was an older lady with short light brown hair. I let her know my concern and explained to her what was going on. She informed me that this is happening to everyone and there is nothing she can do. I explained to her that we are a party of 6 and only received two plates that are freezing cold. She responded back with I can warm them up but you will have to wait even longer. She made one excuse after another and not once did she apologize or have any concern about what was going on. You are the manager take ownership! Never once were we informed by our waiter or anyone that the kitchen is a little behind. As we sat waiting for our food to get brought to us or warmed up the manager stayed in the middle of the aisle by the bar drinking a glass of water. The only dish we enjoyed was there chips and salsa. This place is a joke and so is the manager and her horrible customer service skills. Now it is 8:44 and we are just leaving.

EXCELLENT customer service! At the end of our meal, the owner noticed that I didn’t eat any of the shrimp from my fajitas. He asked why, then asked if he could taste one. I told him that I typically love their shrimp fajitas, but today’s batch wasn’t as good. He then proceeded to tell me «If you’re not happy, then why am I even here? I’m going to send over a fried ice cream on the house.»

Not the best Mexican place in town. Kinda mediocre actually. The decorations are dusty and faded, there is a lady on a bike on a surfboard hanging from the ceiling and it is covered in grease and dust – and the AC blows straight on it so it blows all over the food. Super gross. The food is not even so so. It’s pretty poor. The bread of my torta was old and stale. The carnitas have an odd flavoring.

Nice family owned restaurant across the street from an In-n-Out. My husband and I have always gotten good service here. They are only slightly above average as far as Mexican restaurants go. I go here because it is near impossible to find good mole in this area. Believe me, I’ve tried. Pros: –Mole Sabroso! It’s tasty! –The staff are friendly –the décor seems pretty authentic –Family owned Cons: –A little slow even when they are mostly empty. –They didn’t know what Sangria was when I asked if they had any. –The meat is a little hit or miss as far as dryness. — They are stingy with side orders/guacamole. If you want enough guac to go over your rice/beans/etc then you gotta ask for a couple sides of it because all you get is a tiny spoonful.

Good chips and salsa, but 6.00 for a beer is ridiculous. I’ve never paid 6.00 for a beer at a dive.

Suprised by my boyfriend to get delicious food here because I was craving delicious Mexican food. So happy we came. When we came in we were warmly greeted and allowed to pick our seats wherever we felt comfortable. Alicia was our server and right from the get go, she was kind cheerful helpful and informative with plenty of suggestions and always there to refill our chips and drinks. Ive been in the serving industry so I know how it can be, but her quickness and thoughtfulness was very much recognized and appreciated. Excellent portions and a goodtime. The mexican music was a nice touch as I felt a piece of authentic Mexico here. The food was so comforting as I miss my family in Mexico and their homecooking. All in all, you should come here for an enjoyable time. I noticed a bar, so I can bet they can whip up a mean margarita! Thanks Taxco!

I found this place through Unilocal and walked in thinking I wasn’t going to like it at all. I was wrong. I ordered a plate of two chile rellenos(13 $) and it was BOMB. It was also huge, I’m sure two people could of ate that together. The food is amazing, we had enchiladas and seabass, and it was all delicious. The plates are a bit pricey but was some real well made food, so worth it. It also took about 35 plus minutes to make, but it was real good so we didn’t mind. It felt freshly made and everything was perfect. The waiters were nice, after we were finished the owner stopped by. He was so sweet and talked to us, asking how the food was and joking around with us. It’s a little more expensive so I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I’ll be dreaming with those chile rellenos.

My daughter and I are completely disappointed! The cheese and chips were the only thing we enjoyed. The chicken was dry the service was horrible and they are way over priced for what it is. We will never come back.

Having been here on three occasions the service has been getting progressively worse. The first two times we were one of three tables occupied and had non existent service. This time while it is really busy they are at 50 minutes to the pass and we still have no food. Although a manager type person did apologize for the delay. I will probably give this one more try after this as it is the holiday weekend.

Their Chicken mole is delicious! My hubby loves their Tortilla soup. The rice and beans are good too. We still need to try their other items.

Positioned somewhat out-of-view in a shopping plaza at the foot of PV, Taxco offers a solid take on the classic neighborhood Mexican restaurant. My family’s been going to this place for years, and that’s largely because Taxco succeeds where it matters most — the food! Here’s a quick rundown: ________________ — The décor at Taxco is lively and eclectic. There’s plenty of color, and the overall dining environment feels welcoming; it’s a nice contrast to the sleepy, conservative interiors sometimes found at Mexican restaurants. No matter what time of the day you visit(and Taxco’s open until 10, unlike the vast majority of restaurants in the sleepy South Bay), you can expect to be warmly greeted and promptly seated. The same sense of care unfortunately wasn’t consistent when it came to our drink orders — as we received waters a few minutes after our entrees were delivered. Not quite the end of the world, but still a bit annoying… ________________ — The chips & salsa here are relatively run-of-the-mill. The salsa has a bit of a kick, though — which is always welcome in my book. — I’d strongly encourage you to order a fajita if you’re dining here for the first time. Taxco’s website boldly proclaims the restaurant as having the«Best Fajitas In Town.» While I haven’t had enough fajitas in the South Bay to really have an informed opinion on this, I can say that the fajitas here were pretty damn good. During my most recent visit, we ordered the«Fajitas For Two,» which was big in both size and flavor; honestly, the portion size was so gigantic that it could have easily fed three. Served sizzling hot(as in «keep your distance at first so you don’t get hit with oil hopping around hot»), this ginormous platter comes packed with either chicken, steak, or seafood, along with a healthy heaping of onions and bell peppers. Upon request, you can have lemon freshly squeezed atop your fajita just before it arrives at your table(and I’d highly recommend going with this option!). Our Chicken Fajita was bursting with flavor; every bite was juicy and featured a nice balance of savory flavor with a hint of citrus. Of course, this indulgent platter comes with all the usual suspects — tortillas, pico de gallo, and guacamole. For those who still aren’t satisfied, Taxco provides two full plates of beans & rice to go along with the fajita extravaganza. If you’re gonna order this bad boy, you’d best bring an appetite! (Trust me, I speak from experience.) — Underestimating the size of the shared fajita, I inexplicably ordered a side Cheese Enchilada. The plating on this dish was pretty off-putting; it looked as though a car had backed up on top of my enchilada by mistake(see photo). For as much as it lacked in sexiness, the enchilada itself had some decent flavor; the sweet enchilada sauce balanced out the melted cheese filling well. Overall, though, I still could’ve done without this dish. _________________ — Taxco’s burrito party trays are a solid option for family/group gatherings. We’ve ordered from them in the past, and the massive party platters can satisfy a room full of hungry Filipinos with ease.

Been coming here forever with family and friends! The food is always fresh and delicious. We also enjoy the casual ambience, great customer service, and how they all treat you like family. My family and I have also had Taxco cater for our parties. One less stress to worry about when having a party. Let Taxco handle catering for your next party or event! Last but not least, I really like how Taxco gives back to the community. Taxco has helped do fundraisers for my children’s schools.(Locally located) Way to go Taxco! Helping support local schools is beyond awesome!

Been passing by this place for a while now so I finally decided to give it a try. I felt bad because my husband and I showed up at 9:20 p.m. and they close at 10!(SORRRRYYYY I WASSTARVING!) They were slow and told us not to worry about it, to not rush. So we sat down, ordered our food and had some of their chips and salsa. Salsa was pretty good, chips were nice and warm. I ordered the tamales with rice and beans. Husband got a burrito. Next time I’d like to try their margaritas. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I left her a good tip.

My spouse and I had lunch here this week — after almost two years of living in San Pedro, I am still trying to find a Mexican restaurant as good as the ones we had in Pasadena. This isn’t it. For starters, though the online menu said they had Coke products, they were a Pepsi establishment. Second, an ant was crawling on my silverware. Not too big a deal, but then there was another crawling up my spouse’s arm, and a third running along the wall at our table. Not a big deal. but not really appetizing either. Although other people said chips were stale, I thought they tasted okay, and the chicken in my taco was good. Unfortunately, the taco was like 75% lettuce, with only a little chicken. It was edible but not good. :(We won’t be back, and so the search continues.

With so many Mexican food options, I would say this is an okay restaurant, straight down the middle. There is nothing overly special about this place. The staff is usually friendly, and I do like the family feel. They also have a satisfactory chip basket and salsa. Bottom line, It’s not bad food, it’s just not the place to go for a authentic Mexican meal. The restaurant layout is odd, depending on where you get seated it can be tight(cramped). I will say this, they make a tasty margarita, overall, it’s an OK place to go if you want a cheap, sit down Mexican meal.

I remember coming here as a kid(early/mid 90’s) and NOT liking it. However, I just went back for the first time in about 15 years and LOVEDIT! The ambiance was cozy and the staff was beyond friendly. Each one of them went out of their way to give us great service. I ordered a bean burrito(wet) w/added onions and cilantro inside. They didn’t mind the special order and the food was ready in about 5 minutes. It’s perfect for a low-key weeknight dinner.
