Caffe Positano

Walked into this adorable place yesterday and found out they sell Better Booch!!! The BEST kombucha tea I’ve ever had — so glad to know I can get it locally since I just moved from LA. This will be a favorite spot for sure!!!

Love coming here just to get a Mexican Hot Chocolate or Coffee! The owner roasts his own coffee. This place gets crowded some times because it can take awhile to order and get out of there.

I come here almost everyday and it never seizes to disappoint! The drinks, specifically the carmel macchiato, is amazing! The croissants are freshly made each day to perfection, especially the swiss and turkey croissant. The Mexican hot chocolate is delicious. The staff here are all extremely friendly, especially Emily! Love this place!

NO WI-​FI at a coffee shop? Cobwebs everywhere on patio. Come on, guys.

I’ve been on the hunt fro the best espresso I can find and so far this place takes the crown! I like 3 shots over ice and this was strong yet not bitter and very smooth. Packed quite a punch! Although I don’t get in the area too much, I’ll be back whenever I’m close.

I come here Saturday mornings for the Cars-​n-​Coffee show thats occurs in the town center, and Caffe Positano has become part of that routine. Cash only, the coffee is top notch, and their croissants are some of the best I’ve had in North County. The staff are courteous and cheery too. There are a few outdoor tablesets to sit at, but the place can get packed. Just grab a coffee and enjoy the cars!

3.40 for an extremely watered down chai tea out of an AM-​PM coffee machine. Capp is mediocre. Can’t believe this place is rated 4 stars. Maybe the pastries are decent, but I won’t be back to try anything.

Loving the Americano I’m drinking right now… wonderful nutty finish! And the café smells heavenly with fresh baked pastries.

Wonderful place. Friendly staff and delicious croissants. You really can’t beat them. I always love taking a short walk to grab my coffee in the morning. This is the perfect destination.

You have a few choices in RSF for coffee and bakery items. Location/​parking is fairly easy, open on Mondays (Thyme is closed on Mondays), and they take credit cards (Thyme doesn’t). Save your money and visit a healthier café. This café serves overly processed & unhealthy drinks/​pastries or sugar-​filled items.

No coffee refills — buy larger than you would normally if you intend to refill. Limited seating. Buttery croissants.

Customer service was rude and unprofessional. Totally unenjoyable experience. Very cheap Styrofoam cups and lids. They don’t offer coffee cups sleeves unless you ask and then have to endure the rude responses.

I was a long time regular customer here. But I will no longer go there.
I have a mental condition that can cause me issues in public when I have an episode. I got a new dog that could sense when I was about to have an exposed, even before I could feel it coming on. She would become very protective and would bark at people she saw as a potential threat. Those that she didn’t see as a threat she did not react to and would let them pet her.
She barked at some people a few times when I was sitting in the sidewalk in front of the shop.
Because of that I was asked by the staff to not sit on the PUBLIC SIDEWALK in front of the shop.
It was very demeaning!

Quaint tiny coffee shop tucked away in Rancho Santa Fe. It had great reviews so we were excited to try it. The food and coffee was average and the service will never make us go back. We had what felt like a Soup Nazi-​esque experience. The barista (and only one there) had no patience with us and was very short with us when we weren’t ordering the coffee correctly. We had out of town visitors, and the menu had a lot packed on it. I did like all the different types of croissants they offered, but a cold Ham and Cheese Croissant? If you go, just be prepared and know what coffee you want before you order.

It’s a decent little coffee shop, but the owner has really cut some corners and keeps prices high. I ordered a sausage croissant and found that they use some cheap, processed sausage patty… but the big disappointment for me was finding out that they bake only HALF a sausage patty. The thing costs $ 5, has ½ a sausage patty, and just discouraged me from buying food (and more) from Café Positano.

Found this place on a cold Sunday morning after realizing that Thyme in the Ranch, up the street, was closed! (i was in the mood for breakfast)
This is a TINY coffee shop, it has one table inside and a few outside.
The gal making our drinks was pleasant and up beat.
The coffee was really good, and i had a muffin which i was not disappointed with!
They bake everything fresh, so if you are looking for a cup of coffee and a pastry i highly recommend this spot!
I took off one star because i wish they had more seating available! :(

YUM! I really just had to say that first. Tucked away in the Village of Rancho Santa Fe this truely is my favorite coffee shop! First off, I have never walked into somewhere that has smelled as deliciously of fresh baked pastries and spices in my life.
They are constantly making dozens of fresh items from goody filled croissants, to a varity of muffins, and danishes.
My all time favorites are the chai tea latte and the ham and cheese croissant. Other recommedations are they blueberry muffins, vanilla latte, the chocolate filled croissants, and the danishes.
P. S. The only downfall they have is that it is cash only, however there are atm’s right across the street.

A slice of the old world awaits you at this pint-​sized establishment on Paseo Delicias. Befitting the expectations of its patrons, the extensive menu of caffeinated beverages is of fine quality and craftsmanship; quite addicting, actually. And each baked good is clearly made from scratch (unlike the stuff at Starbucks and Coffee Bean which are all apparently made from the same dough molded into different shapes)… definitely worth a taste. The holiday selection of beverages laced with seasonal ingredients of pumpkin spices and peppermint were a treat… can’t wait until they come back.
Like many establishments in the historic section of the Ranch, the place is tiny. There is rarely much of a line, but it doesn’t really take much of a crowd before you suddenly find yourself shivering in Rancho’s stubbornly frosty morning air (makes the delicious coffees seem even more tempting, I suppose). However, the friendly barista will make you quickly forget that minor inconvenience when you embrace that warm cup of roasted goodness.
One last tip; cash or check only.

Cozy little café. The pain au chocolat was warm straight otta the oven. It was buttery, chocolaty, and a bit salty. What’s not to like.
I would like to go back and try some of the other pastries.
