Specialties

We teach a combination of Isshinryu Karate and Judo as well as Okinawan Kobudo. Our martial arts training focuses on fun, safe, and professionally taught karate for kids, teens, and adults, ages 4 and up, and our goal is to bring strong character-​based martial arts training to the town of Randolph and its community, and for our staff to help as many families as possible.

History

Established in 2014.

Years ago as a child, our head instructor, Mr. Hopler had issues with bullies in school to the point his parents sent him to a local karate school. In addition to self-​defense, he learned focus which helped him become a top student in school, and more self-​confident which helped him find his passion for teaching as a way to give back and help as many other people as he could.

Mr. Hopler decided after years of teaching in his teacher’s dojos to open a new school within their association, so that he and his staff could help bring all of the benefits of properly taught martial arts to a new community, the one in which he lived, and help families in Randolph NJ and the surrounding areas in the development of excellent character, proper real world self defense, and good mental and physical fitness. Our school is here to serve you and your family, and to develop not just good students, but also good people. This is where the next chapter of our story begins…

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Mr. D. Hopler started studying the martial arts in the late 1980’s as a young member of the junior (children’s) class and grew up in the dojo. He started teaching karate in 1992 and has been teaching all age groups from young children to adults ever since. In addition to his teaching at the dojo, he has been on staff at his association’s annual summer karate camp since 1996, teaching all age groups, and helping to run & supervise the camp. He is both a certified instructor and a certified Renshi (Head Instructor).

As a child and young adult, Mr. D. Hopler grew up in Rockaway, NJ. He moved to Randolph in 2009, and is proud to be a Randolph resident and part of the community. His goal is to bring the strong character-​based martial arts training that he’s learned and taught as a Certified Instructor within the American Budo Kai association to the town of Randolph NJ and its community, and for him and his staff to help as many families as possible.
