Description

History

Established in 1980.

Niboban Camps were originally created in the late 1800’s as a hunting and fishing retreat and operated under the name «Ethelwald». During the 1920’s the name was changed to Niboban Camps, an indian name for the «northern lights» which are often seen from our beautiful lakefront location. During WW2 the camps were closed and after the war Dave Lower bought the property and lived there for 50 years as a hermit, due to his being «shell shocked» from fighting in the war. After he passed in 1998, the property was purchased by Jean Noyes, who tour down all the old cabins and built what is here now, 9 cabins on the lake, the main lodge and the owners house.
