This was the former post office. The original Carnegie Library was torn down. I’m working on a documentary of New Deal art in post offices and went in to look. Sure enough, the library has a huge collection. Two were murals at the old library. Stop by and get the art catalog and look around.

The Raton Library has a wonderful local history collection and a very friendly staff. I spent several hours there gathering information for a long-term writing project and found much of what I was looking for given my time schedule. Take time to see the beautiful artwork throughout the library(a guide is available at the circulation desk). Most highly recommended!
