STAY AWAY FROM MARIA PEREIRA !!!
My husband filed his taxes with her this year for the first time because she claimed to be able find him and all of his friends lots and lots of unclaimed tax money that the Union «owed» them. She promised to «fix» his taxes from years 2011 – 2014. My husband brought her all of the forms she needed and was only present while she filed his taxes for the year 2011. She told him she would take care of the rest herself. We received the tax forms for years 2012 – 2014 & not one single year was filed correctly. She completely messed up his gross income, neglected his middle name, changed his phone number & had different birthdates for every year. Not one single form had anything close to his actual birthdate or phone number. She also stamped them as «self prepared», even though he paid her to prepare his taxes. She did not sign her name on any of the forms ! As if that wasn’t enough, she also put down our friend’s (same first & last name) SSN and address on lots of the forms. Now I need to be clear that although our friend’s SSN and address were on the forms, neither the phone numbers, birthdates nor the gross income were his. This led us to believe that she mixed together at least three people on his taxes. At this point we do not know who else may have their social security numbers.

DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES FILED HERE! (Unless you want to be ignored and lied to by Maria the accountant). Maria is by far the most unorganized, unprofessional, unethical accountant that I have ever come across. I got my 2013 taxes filed with Maria however was never provided a copy of them. I called if she could send me a copy and she said she mailed it. Two months later of chasing and continuously be lied too I still have no copy. I offered to pick them up several times but was completely ignored. Her lies are endless. Just like the previous review she shuts off her phone not to talk to you, doesn’t respond to emails, will tell you she has computer problems, don’t bother going to her office either because she is never there and if she is she won’t open the door. Extremely unprofessional! Her office is in an attic and a complete mess! Client files piled up with access to anyone to grab and walk away with your personal information… There are plenty of accountants to file taxes with save your headache and go else where. I will also be complaining to BBB about this place because it’s ridiculous how the customer gets treated there.

If I could do no stars this would be a more accurate description of how I rate my experience. We had our 2011 taxes done there and she offered to provide a second look at our 2010 taxes and redo them. She filed an extension for both and then was out of contact with us for months with all of our paperwork. The phone was shut off, no one was answering emails, the doors were closed during business hours. I finally googled and googled until I found her CELL PHONE and called it to track down my taxes! Then she made me prove that I had paid for the services and I had to contact my bank to get a copy of the debit transaction!
We got to her office, it was in shambles and literally had to help her hook up printers and internet connection and play IT TECH SERVICE for 2.5 hrs trying to get this done. Completely clown shoes operation. This occurred in October of 2012. Needless to say last year I went somewhere else!
Fast forward to this Saturday and I receive a letter from the IRS stating that I never filed my 2011 taxes. So basically I paid her for nothing and I now have the pleasure of dealing with the IRS. Awesome!

This place is a joke. Don’t even get me started. It’s 2012 and I’m still dealing with the issues I had from filing my 2009 taxes there. Which they now claim they never did when I needed copies of papers so that H&R Block could fix their mistakes. It took them months to file my taxes even when I dropped off my W2s in February, the accountant, Maria didn’t send them in until June! I got the lowest return ever when it finally did come in and I have no idea where my state refund went because I never received it. I received numerous letters from the IRS because they improperly filed my taxes and now I had to pay fees for them incorrectly submitting w2s that did not match. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I’m pretty sure Maria no longer works there, as she struck lucky on a million dollar scratch ticket.
