Calvert’s Express Auto Service & Tire

Excellent service, they focus on the Customer and address and follows up after the work has been completed. The district manager that works this location. Thank you for holding together a great group mechanics that take out the time to listen and help the consumers at the same time. I would highly recommend this location.

I received a coupon for a discount oil change. When I showed up for my service I was presented two estimates, one for a discount price and one for a different oil weight (¹⁰⁄₂₀) than the coupon. To me it was a bait switch on the promotion. I decided to go ahead and have the oil change here because my week is full and really don’t have time to leave.
I will NOT return to Calvert’s Service and don’t recommend them to anyone who is looking for service, especially if it requires anything more than an oil or tire change.

My boyfriend had been going to this shop for a while now because it’s convenient and just a few minutes from our home.
After having TWO other shops look for a leak in my tire and find nothing (I had to put air in it about twice a week, so there was clearly a problem), I took my car to Calvert’s. They were able to get my car in immediately when I showed up unannounced. The woman at the desk was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and sweet. Within 10 minutes the mechanic had found the leak in my tire AND showed me how he found it and explained why the other mechanics probably missed it. I went ahead with an oil change as well and drove out 35 minutes later with my new favorite in Auto Repair shops. The friendliness, helpfulness, and affordable pricing is what earns this place 5 stars for me. I was so impressed — I got the number for the District Manager and I plan to give him a call and brag on his staff. Great experience!

Great location for people who work downtown and the guys seemed nice. But clearly they were trying to take advantage of me and I would strongly recommend you get a second opinion on anything they tell you if you take your car here. I went in for an oil change because the location was so convenient. They told me I had a substantial and very urgent problem (leaking rack and pinion) that would cost hundreds of dollars to fix. I told them I would take it to a family friend who owns a shop further away instead since it was such a major repair and then they told me they would match whatever he said it would cost. That seemed odd so I took my car to another shop just North of the river for a second opinion. They said there was no problem and the only sign of leaking they saw was oil all over from a recent sloppy oil change (that would be the one Calvert’s did earlier that day), not from anything leaking. That was about 9 months and 3 oil changes ago and no problems!

Great downtown location but almost no easy parking, friendly but clueless desk help and surly mechanics. This place was mobbed when I went and they told me it would be at least 2 hours for an oil change and inspection. No problem, but it ended up taking more than 7 hours and only after I called to check on their progress. The only nice aspect of Calvert’s is the fact that it’s open Saturdays.
