128 Ford-Saab-Volvo

I purchase a used 2010 S80. After massive haggling, I agreed to purchase the car after they fixed the unbalanced rim and install the 2010 navigation disc that was missing. They ended up order the disc, but have me a 2009 disc which of course was a year older outdated and it took 5 trip back to the dealership to fix my tire problem to straighten the rims.
but… it wasn’t’ fixed. Here is the PROBLEM. They put cheap Chinese made tires on their CPO and used cars. On my car, the installed hifly hf805 tires, which run around $ 60 at your local dealer if they order them. (128 Volvo charged me $ 120 — jeeeezzz) They are loud, and give the car a rough ride. Anyway, the car rode horrible. I brought my car to another Volvo Dealership (
…) and they told me that they never heard of those tires and would never put those on a car that they sell. Anyways, after 8 months of driving on the tires, they finally wore out and I invested in some great tire. End result, the car drive great! Very little noise.
If you find a car there, but it there, but service somewhere else. Yucky!

I have never had a worse experience with a car dealership. I had not heard great things about 128 Volvo, but they were nearby and we stopped in to look at a car. The saleman could not remember anything, his manager actually insulted us and when we picked up the car it was dirty, missing the climate package, to which the response from the sales man was «Oh well, you can buy heated seats for $ 500», only had 1 key and had ¼ a tank of gas. I was not even excited about getting a «new car». It was really awful. In this economy take your business to someone who will appreciate it and treat you with respect. Don’t pay someone to be insulting, which is unfortunately what I did.

Steer clear of this dealership. I had heard word of mouth reviews saying as much but to be truthful the lazy side of me kicked in and I figured «why travel all the way to Boston Volvo Village or Jafferian when 128 is right there.» Well the reason why is that they are by far the worst car dealership I had ever dealt with. My experience felt like a sitcom episode with lying used car salesmen! I was told by the salesman (who was actually very nice) that «of course the over the limit miles on my lease that was expiring would be forgiven if I was going into a new lease… that it is the customary practice.» Well, a month later I get a bill for $ 1000. I immediately call up to find out that the salesman no longer works there. Of course, right? I explain my situation to the finance manager who concedes that forgiving the miles is in fact the customary practice however he can’t seem to locate the notes from the now moved on salesman. Sure, why would you be able to find the notes? I speak to the Barry the dealership manager who tells me «I know where he moved onto, I’ll call him.» Barry then calls me back to say «I spoke to him, he remembers you, told me he never told you that.» Um hmm. We must have been the only family of four leasing a Volvo station wagon, it isn’t like you see that often! I say «Well then he is lying, I would like for you to set up a conference call with us and please include Volvo of America.» Figuring Volvo USA would want to know that a licensed dealership of theirs was acting like a back street, no name, untrustworthy, car dealership. He tells me «I absolutely will!» And I never hear from him again! I have called at least 5 times with no response. It is ridiculous. Seriously, this is supposed to be a respected business and they just don’t return phone calls. It wasn’t even like I was being snappy, I was being my nicest hoping they would agree to the conditions that their salesman had told me! Please do yourself a favor, don’t go to 128 because it is convenient. You will end up feeling like you need to take a shower, they are so scummy.

I have had a lot of good experiences with 128 Volvo’s service. I started using them rather than Salem Volvo because 128 is near my work. They are always very friendly, they confirm in advance and follow up following my appointments, and they provide very prompt service. I would highly recommend them for Ford/​Saab/​Volvo service.
