Cakes by Michelle

I had been shopping around for bakeries to do a custom cake for my daughter’s one year birthday party. I got quotes from about 5 different bakeries all of which were out of my price range. Found Michelle’s listing and she came highly recommended by friends who previously used her for their events.
Michelle was very responsive to my emails and she was able to take my order a week in advance. Pricing was reasonable and for an additional $ 10, she added a matching smash cake. The theme for our party was barnyard animals. Michelle sent some samples of cakes she had done in the past and i was completely blown away by her work. She works from her own kitchen and offers delivery for a fee but I chose to pick it up from her house. Didn’t get to meet her personally but her husband met me at the door and assisted me with getting the two cakes into our car.
The cake was beautiful and we got so many compliments from our friends. The barn animals were made with fondant and not overly sweet which was great. The cake itself was moist and fluffy. I will likely use Michelle again for my next event and would recommend it to others.

a good friend of mine referred me to Cakes by Michelle because she makes beautiful cakes that are delicious too. I e-​mailed her to make a 1 layer confetti cake for my son’s 3^rd birthday. It was a Curious George theme and the cake was GORGEOUS and tasted great. I swear my son will still bring up his George cake with the yellow hat on top. I will definitely order from her again for his 4^th birthday!

I have ordered from Michelle many times. I love her creative designs! The price for a custom made cake with such unique designs was very reasonable. I had my cakes delivered, I know I am a bad driver and the cake would not survive any trip I would take it on. Over all I am a fan and I would purchase a cake for my next party.

I was referred to Cakes by Michelle from the SomervilleMoms list-​serve. Her website is very nice, she was very responsive to my request for fall-​themed cupcakes and very accommodating about times for pick-​up and she offers delivery too. The main issue was that the cupcakes were not properly packaged and just setting them on the floor of my sedan, they tipped over and got smushed. I re-​set them but they fell over again immediately when I started driving. The design was basically ruined. The cupcakes themselves were o.k. Dry and that powdered sugar, too-​sweet icing that I do not care for. I was hoping for moist with buttercream frosting. So my fault for not double-​checking. She does beautiful designs but I would advise bringing your own packing and making sure you like these kinds of cupcakes before ordering.
