Established in 1995.

Closer to the Sun has been in business for over 20 years! The current owners have had it since Feb. 2013. At our salon you will feel at home in our clean and relaxing atmosphere. Our staff is friendly and knowledgeable — we are here to assure you get the color you desire.

If you need a spray tan, go to Closer to the Sun! A fellow bridesmaid and I needed a spray tan for a wedding held in Reading. We chose this salon based on its pricing, hours, and location. It did not disappoint! The owner, Alyse, personally called me to schedule the appointment, sent an email with instructions regarding the spray tan, and performed the air brush spray tan. She is personable and friendly, as was the additional employee working at the time. The spray tan was evenly applied and looked great, no splotches or missed spots, which are common mishaps in spray tan booths, and for $ 30, the price cannot be beat. If I ever needed another spray tan, I would probably make the drive from Philadelphia to Reading for it. Closer to the Sun is great!

I have tanned at a few different places before deciding to try closer to the sun, and this is by far the best place I have ever tanned at! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It was very clear to me that they care about their customers. They also have a different deal almost every day, such as 10% off any lotion, buy one week of tanning get one free, etc. the building is clean and tidy, including the beds. They offer a wide range of beds all with different strengths for every tanner. They also have spray tanning available. I recommend this solan to everyone. I absolutely love it, and I feel right at home!

Great place to tan. Very clean, well thought out, and the staff is thoughtful and considerate. Their beds are well maintained and sanitized. They are professional and personable. I enjoy the atmosphere.
