History
Established in 1925.
Started in 1925 by my great grandfather, Joe Pawlicki, it has been handed down to my grandfather, Jake Wennell, then to my father, Stewart «Jack» Wennell, then to my brother, Jeff Wennell. Jeff and I were partners until 2011, when he retired. The back bar is a remnant of the 19th century ice cream parlor that preceded the bar. This has been, and remains, a local corner bar, but now sees customers from all over Berks County that appreciate the almost unchanged history of a traditional Pennsylvania local bar. We are proud to be the county’s oldest family owned bar!
