I have a fungus on 2 toes from a Pedi from Kevin at Tips and Toes in Reading.(Pics to follow) I would NEVER use this salon again. They do not clean the bacteria out from the water jets(they only wipe out the bowl) This could happen to you ! I am undergoing Laser Treatments at $ 100.00 per session, which is not covered under Insurance.

Great place, and so affordable. The salon was very clean and had a nice atmosphere, and everyone working there was super nice as well. I’m incredibly picky about manicures and this was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, the polish came out perfectly. And it was only $ 12! Such a deal. I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been going here for about 3 ½ years. Love this place! Jenn the owner is very nice, as is Kathy the nail tech. You are greeted immediately as you walk in.(not sure what of the other reviewers was talking about that no one made eye contact… nor true). Always call ahead for an appt, as the place gets very busy.

I used to like this place. Then for awhile I kept coming wanting to still like it. Then I realized I didn’t like it but didn’t know where else to go… but the last two times I went it was horrible! The tv is on too loud. The employees are are taking to each other very loud and seem annoyed to make small talk with the clients. They prefer walks around with her Bluetooth phone attachment in her ear taking on the phone. They don’t do a good job on your nails and just rush you in and out. A few pedicures have been downright painful. The massage chairs have lost their cushion and do not reliably ’ massage ’ so they are rally just uncomfortable chairs. The last time I got my eyebrows waxed the tech spent the entire time insulting my eyebrows. I won’t be back again!

I went in for a regular manicure and had a very good experience. For $ 15 it was a great job, and shellac manicures are only $ 25. There was a wide-variety of color choices and I received good attention to my hands, nails and cuticles. The only downside was that there aren’t fans to dry your nails at the end, just UV lights, which I don’t trust as much so I sat for 20 minutes to make sure my nails were dry.

I get regular shellac/gel French manis with Kevin, and now wouldn’t go anywhere else. My hands are in and out of water all day at work and despite that my mani lasts for at least 4 weeks! Have gotten some great pedicures there too!

When I go there I ask for Cynthia. She is very sweet, meticulous and does my nails exactly the way I want them. I did nails for years, so when i say she’s good, she’s good! She is the reason I give 5 stars!

I’m surprised there are several negative reviews here. Over the past few years, I’ve been going here during the summer for pedicures. The staff has always been very friendly toward me, and aware when anyone walks in. Gift certificates are always sued without a problem. I also almost always do walk-ins and never have to wait more than 10 – 15 mins. They offer a wide selection of the latest women’s mags, so I love to catch up on my reading while waiting and while sitting in the massage chair getting my toes done :) The only real downsides: Even if you do have an appointment, it is basically first come first serve. Also, I have seen probably every 10 year old and teenager in Reading at this place getting her nails done with a friend after school(but maybe that is found at every nail salon). The main problem I have here is that as part of the spa’s décor, they have fishtanks with several gigantic fish in little tanks who I feel bad for. Please get new tanks for those big fish!

I have gotten my nails done here 3 times since moving to Reading and every time they have done a great job. My gel/shellac manicures last 3 weeks or longer and even regular manis last over 1 week with little to no chips. I also got a pedicure which lasted over one month. Will definitely continue to get my nails done here. The prices aren’t bad either. My gel/shellac manicure and pedicure were $ 50 total.

This was my first experience at tips and toes and I loved it! Kevin was my manicurist and he was amazing. My mani lasted over a week and I am going back on Friday with my daughter. Strongly recommend you try Tips and Toes!!!

AVOID. you know, I heard a lot of good things about this place. I work in the same town and get a bunch of customers who go here so I was optimistic going in… but boy was I disappointed. I called on a Wednesday to come in for a pedicure that afternoon and they said that was fine. I got to Tips and Toes about 10 minutes early. When you walk in, you are not greeted by anyone, you simply put your name on the sign-in sheet and take a seat. I grabbed a magazine and sat next to an older woman who looked like she’d been waiting a while. After 20+ minutes I started my second magazine and I started looking around… the woman next to me was still sitting there… checking her watch at this point. I waited another ten minutes… then it became ridiculous. good luck getting ANY one of those people to look up at you and make some eye contact, never mind an «I’m sorry» for not honoring your appointment time. they clearly didn’t care — the non-existent customer service was NOT appreciated. so after waiting 30+ minutes, I calmly got up, put my magazine back, crossed my name off the check-in list and walked out the door. I called up the street to Cathys Nails(in reading center) and they told me to come right away. The funny part is when I was getting in my car, the older woman I was sitting next to did the same thing, walked out. Tips and Toes lost two paying customers(and I will certainly never return) — way to go guys! As soon as I got to Cathys Nails they took me right away and the relaxation began… the pedicure was fantastic and I will def go there from now on.
