This is a small, non-specialty store, but it is the refreshed design with wood floors, nicer shelving, aesthetic lighting, and warm, welcoming colors on the walls. Although you don’t get the Chairman’s Selections, there are still sales of course. It is all the way on the end of the new Exeter shopping center, a place with a very vexing traffic pattern. The center makes for an ugly view from the beautiful community library across the many lanes of traffic. I used to think I was for privatizing the PA system, but I realize that many fulltime workers with good benefits would lose their jobs, and how much less would we pay anyway? Is cheaper alcohol really a good thing? Yes, the selection for the fancy stuff is much less, but oh well. Birthdays and anniversaries don’t occur every week. Most of us can get what we need unless we are wine writers. It’s not like we don’t live close to NJ and Delaware, if one is desperate for greater variety. The state of PA is one of the biggest bulk wine buyers in the world, interesting… this is why they get the deals they do, but I hope they don’t shake down smaller wine companies ala Walmart. I hope for better wines in boxes because of the savings in shipping and packaging — I know these are coming. And the organic choices are becoming more common and better quality. The sturdy 6-bottle wine bags sold by the store(99 cents) are great and very useful for regular grocery shopping, will hold your olive oil, sparkling water, and so on very conveniently.
