A local institution, Citarella’s was a great find when we moved from the city a few years ago. This is a first-​class butcher shop in terms of the quality of product, staff expertise as well as customer service and friendliness.
In addition to all cuts of beef, pork, lamb, chicken etc. they make fantastic sausages in house as well as frozen meatballs, pot pies and red sauces. Specialties such as marinated sirloin are a treat. Prices are reasonable, especially given the level of quality and service.
At midday, they do a brisk business selling hot and cold sandwiches along with delicious potato salad, cole slaw and the like. The daily specials are a sure bet, including my favorite pulled pork with cole slaw on a hard roll.
The décor of the shop could be spiffed up a bit, but it’s tolerable.
