Old World Shaving Parlor

What a great experience.
My husband has been going here for about 2 years. The barbers and receptionist have always been very friendly and welcoming.
When our son needed his first haircut we brought him here too. The gentleman who did the haircut also has small kids and knew exactly how to work with a nervous kid. My little guy didn’t want to sit in the chair or take off his sunglasses. They let me sit in the chair and hold him and he got to keep the glasses on the whole time. The barber worked quickly to ensure they could complete the cut. At the end they spiked his hair and gave him a lolli-​pop. We were all thrilled.

Ricardo is a great barber and I enjoyed my first visit here. They are moving to a new location soon (nearby) so you should check when you call to make an appointment.

I have a quarter of my head shaved and after going to so many crappy barbers in the area who messed up my hair, I finally stumbled upon Old World Shaving Parlor. I have had my hair cut by each barber at least once, and I have never walked out of there with a bad cut. Their prices are fantastic and they pay attention to detail. If you’re looking for a new barbershop, who pays precise attention to detail, have great prices and are very friendly then check these guys out :)

Great barbers, bad customer service. Without too much exposition, I made an appointment and they didn’t hold it. There was confusion on all parts, (it’s not the shop’s phone # on their card?) but 2 guys came in 10 minutes after me and I get bumped from my appointment. I had confirmation in a text message too.
Not going back and they won’t miss me. You may have a better experience.

Usually go to an old school Italian barbershop in the city but decided to give OWSP a try. Guys here are pros. Been in 3x already to see Jordan and Claudio. Always get a good haircut. My only complaint is they need to slow it down a bit. A shampoo and hot towel would be a nice touch especially after paying $ 28…that’s all.

Moved to Red Bank not long ago. Decided to try this place as it had great reviews, the girl who used to do my hair is 6 hours away, and my hair had reached defcon 5. The fear of the unknown was almost overwhelming. But fear I should not have, as I was assigned to Claudio, a modern day Edward Scissor Hands that would make Johnny Depp blush. Claudio is an artist of his craft, using different tools and techniques that rendered my scalp little more than a canvas for his talent and vision. It was like he channeled both Michelangelo and Raphael with every clip of the scissors. When he finished and help up the mirror for my approval I couldn’t help but gawk. There it was. In all of its glory. A human Sistine Chapel. I had the Sweeney Todd and Claudio’s impressiveness didn’t drop off as the elegance and precision of his haircut translated well into the shave. Feeling my face afterwards was almost like I had been teleported back in time to when I was a baby and was touching my own bottom. My face was smooth and soft and well worth the extra money as a treat. For as long as I am in Red Bank I will be going here and for as long as Claudio can keep his visa I will be returning to him, prepared for his next masterpiece.

Great experience, friendly fast service. I had the Sweeny Todd, shave haircut and facial massage, very relaxing. A little pricey but well worth it. I think I found my new barber!

Great haircut and shave. Was in a wedding and the barber was extremely accommodating when I changed schedules last minute. Everyone was commenting how good my beard and haircut looked. My only complaint has nothing to do with my hair cut but with the prices. They are pretty high as it is, but the website (at the time anyway) had everything listed 10 dollars cheaper than I was charged, not including tip. I was expecting to pay a premium for a great experience but there’s really no excuse for having prices be so different and not mentioning it until the haircuts are done. Despite this, it was a great haircut and shave so just check the prices when you make your appointment and you’ll have a great experience.

Brought my boyfriend here as a surprise and he loved it! Got him a Sweeney Todd — cut and shave — Claudio did a fantastic job! All three of the Barbers were very meticulous and you could tell they knew what they were doing. My only complaint would be how fast moving they were. They were very busy so I’m glad we made the appointment but I would of liked it if they slowed down and personalized it just a little more. I would still recommend them and we will probably go go back — his hair has never looked this good!

Like a doctor, dentist or great tattoo artist, once you get your haircut here you won’t go anywhere else. Even if you do, you’ll find yourself realizing you need to go back to Old World Shaving Parlor.

I just moved from Hoboken to Red Bank and needed a new barber. I looked up a few places, found this one to have the best reviews, and set up an appointment with Ricardo. He was fast, meticulous, and gave me the cut I was looking for. They definitely exceeded my expectations. I’ve found my new barber and will be back in a few weeks.
* UPDATE: I’ve been back twice and had Jordan both times. I would highly recommend both of these gentlemen.

If you have not gone to Old World Shaving Parlor you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit.
The barber shop itself is absolutely beautiful, from the old school barber chairs to the wood molding. Aesthetically, other barber shops just can’t compare. As for the haircut, Riccardo truly is a master barber. He is a perfectionist and will make sure your hair is exactly how you want it. Also, Riccardo understands how your hair grows in and will make sure he cuts your hair appropriately– even weeks after a haircut your hair will still grow in nicely.
I have been a client of Riccardo for several years, and will continue to be for many years moving forward.

Ricardo is a beast! We were late for our appointment but he was still able to accommodate my boyfriend and he was very impressed with the shave and overall service. Everyone was friendly from the receptionist to Ricardo. The place looks very quaint and they offer drinks on the house. I purchased the Sweeney Todd which is a cut and shave as part of a birthday present and it was a success! I recommend this place 100%!

I was in town for work and had some downtime which I used to get a haircut. Did a bit of Google searching and stumbled upon Old World Shaving Parlor. Ricardo did a phenomenal job — both the haircut and the straight razor shave. Worth the price and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Ive been getting the perfect haircut from the same woman every two weeks in Hoboken for the past 4 years. I just moved to the area and was absolutely dreading the chore of finding a new local barber. I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled I was with my experience here! Today I had a 4pm appointment with Ricardo, was taken right away and got an EXCELLENT, if not THE BEST haircut! The man is extremely talented and I highly recommended everyone convert to the Old World Shaving Parlor. This place is worth ever penny!!!

I was in town visiting my girlfriends parents and found this place on Unilocal.Everyone gave it 5 stars and I was not disappointed. The staff is friendly, the cut was great, and they shave your neck line. Next time I’m in town I’ll be returning.

Old World Shaving Parlor truly is as good as it gets.
Ricardo is a master barber. He is an artist with a pair scissors and your hair is his masterpiece. When he feels the haircut is finished, he will ask you what you think and make any changes you desire. Once you let him know it’s perfect (you will think it’s perfect) he pulls out the straight razor for your neck and around the ears.
My next haircuts will all be at Old World Shaving Parlor.
