I am disappointed.
I brought my car to T&T on a recommendation.
Ted greeted me with a big smile. He seemed like a real nice guy who takes pride in his work. I left it there feeling pretty good. He called me the next day and confirmed the solenoid issue, and told me it would cost ($ 800+). OK, that’s fine. But here’s where my problem lies–
After I picked it up from T&T, I brought the car somewhere else the next day to get an oil change. The guys there brought me into the shop to show me a transmission fluid leak. They then started the car and pulled out the dip stick, wiped it clean, put it in and pulled it out again… it was a quart low! Whuttha???
I brought it back to T&T. There was Ted– big smile and all. They «were happy to take it in right away and check it out». About an hour later I went back. It was «done». Was it «fixed»? I don’t know yet. But it was «done». When I asked Ted’s partner (who doesn’t smile as much as Ted) what was wrong?, he said, and I quote: «Oh, it was nothing. Some of the pan screws just needed to be torqued down.» «NOTHING!!!» Thank God I didn’t ask them to «change the oil while it’s here.» If I never brought it somewhere else for an oil change, chances are the fluid would have leaked out, and I wouldn’t had known until the truck broke down somewhere! Then what would he have said? «It wasn’t our doing?»
NOTHING!!! I find that to be irresponsible in itself. Unfortunately T&T smiles don’t guarantee your transmission is fixed properly.
