Candy Mountain Fudge is the signature product of The Candy Crate, a nostalgic candy and retail store in Red River, NM. Candy Mountain Fudge is a cream and butter based fudge that we have been manufacturing since 1990. In addition to Candy Mountain Fudge we also have nostalgic, retro, and hard to find candies, fine chocolates, New Mexico specialty food items, coffees and teas, crazy hats and sunglasses, snacks and beverages, glazed nuts, ice cream, and cool gift items.

History

Established in 2001.

The Candy Crate is an evolution of The Red River Inn and Shops. Candy Mountain Fudge was made by the fudge makers at The Red River Inn and Shops from 1990 to 2001, when The Candy Crate was launched as a stand alone candy store. Both the business and the fudge makers are still in the family so we’ve over 37 years of family owned and operated businesses!

Business Owner

A former lighting, laser, and pyro technician, Dirk toured the world with some of the most popular rock and roll acts in the late seventies and early eighties. Moving to Red River, NM in 1988, Dirk founded The Candy Crate in 2001 and plans on running his business until retirement.
